No One is Safe
Two attacks on seventh year students, Elliott Weasley and Eleanor Breslin, have been reported to have occurred during the Hogsmeade Festival.
Breslin, a seventh year, muggleborn, Slytherin student, was lured away from the stage while enjoying her friend’s concert by a man claiming he was in need of assistance. Breslin was later found in dire need of medical attention and the man was no where to be found. Was this act a warning? Does it go along with the attacks on Scabior and Starrister as an act of retaliation perhaps? Without more evidence, one cannot be sure!
Meanwhile, Weasley, a seventh year, pureblood, Ravenclaw student was attacked upon arriving at the festival to meet a friend. Weasley claims he doesn’t remember much about the attack. He arrived and immediately was shot at from two different directions. He had no chance to defend himself.
Weasley recalls waking up to his friend, and former romantic partner, Ranie Leavitt at his side as well as an unknown man who would not give out his name. His injuries were healed and there was a mark on his hand. Was Weasley’s attack the same person who attacked Starrister and Scabior? The investigations continue.
In London, Gabriela Amadori-Sanchez thought she was going out for a peaceful walk when instead she was stalked and assaulted by a masked man. Details on this attack are blurry but the freshly graduated Hogwarts student was able to best her assailant and escape with her life. Invesitgations continue as to who attacked Gabriela and if it’s related to other attacks that have been happening.
Knockturn Alley Brawl Leaves 2 Dead
Walking home in the late evening, a young man stumbles upon a horrific sight. A vampire biting into the neck of a young woman and draining her life away. This was not the evening stroll in which Hawthorne Huntington of Knockturn Alley had planned when he set out that evening.Gaeul Sage, 23, was drained of blood on the evening of August 6, 2019. Attempts to revive her were not successful and although Huntington had tried to fight off her assailant, the young woman did not survive. Gaeul has no family in London and attempts to discover any relatives has been unsuccessful.
As for the vampire, Auror Lorenzo Marchetti, also died on the scene after fighting in self defense after being attacked by Huntington in defense of Sage. Lorenzo lost his life in the battle and all there is to remember him by is his Honorable work in the Ministry. Attempts to reach any family have also been frivilous.
Huntington will not be charged for his involvement in these deaths as he was deemed to be acting honourably to save a life and out of self defense when he interrupted a vampire’s feeding.
Fireworks Fury
It would seem that although the Hogsmeade Festival was a great success, certain events have been overlooked. The fireworks extravaganza was explosive, to say the least. Lighting up the sky like many would expect from such a display of magic and lights but what happens in the shadows is much more terrifying and a reason we at the Daily Prophet encourage young people not to go out alone in the darker parts of the day.
Andromedia “Hope” Starrister, heir to the Starrister family fortune, and only daughter of Dean Stewart of Aberdeen, Scotland, was seen enjoying the festival with none other than Silas Scabior of the Scabior household. One might consider this a match made to best the pureblood community as both families have a high standing among the best and brightest but it could also be a call for disaster.
Those who voted disaster might be correct.
During the fireworks display, a prominent scream was heard and the commotion unearthed an unconscious Hope and Silas. Was this an act of revenge? An angry muggleborn going after the purebloods for the events of the Accona Desert? If so, why Starrister and Scabior when it was Kingsley and McPhees who had their hands in the pot of that disaster?
The only clue to the case thus far is the mark viewed on the hands of both victims but none seem to know what it means. While the Starrister family is looking into the attack for personal manners, the Magical Law Enforcement Department has recruited some of the brightest and most brilliant minds to discover the origin of the mark.
New Developments
Rumours have been alit that the Department of Mysteries is working on some interesting new research which has spotted Nathaniel Kingsley alongside Kris Robin and Vito Brando. Kingsley is known for his brilliance in research while Robin and Brando are known for being diligent in creating magical items and devices for Law Enforcement. Kingsley has also been seen frequenting the Wizarding Wireless Network in Hogsmeade. One wonders what these three could be up to and what that means for the Magical community... More to come as things develop. The Hogsmeade Festival
A number of great things occur at the Hogsmeade Festival but the best part is always the stories of fun, friendship and romances that pop up around every corner. The Annual Hogsmeade Summer Festival brings out the best in everyone and once again, Hogsmeade did a fantastic job of producing booths and games and fair rides and activities to entertain the public of all ages.
One event to surely make the news was the jovial Headmaster Dunamis of Hogwarts willingly walking into the seat of the dunk tank and allowing those all around him the chance to take out much needed frustrations on the man in charge. We’re certain we saw the same face lining up three times – he must have had a lot of frustrations to get out!
It was all in good fun, and Professor Dunamis even sported a hilarious retro swimsuit for the affair. Can you say, Where’s Waldo? In that outfit? No one? Huh? Just me them. All we needed was a French Baret.
An old time favourite of the Hogsmeade Festival is the Nox Dating Auction – members of the community volunteer to be auctioned for a date and others bid on them. All the proceeds go towards Nox Nightclub and funding to help vampires in the community. It’s an excellent cause given the stigma against the night creatures. This year, 185 knuts were earned with Ciaran Gilpatrick bringing in the highest bid of 25 knuts. He’s definitely the hottest commodity on the auction block this year! Well done, Ciaran!
And to top it off, the biggest hit attraction of the festival seems to have been the ferris wheel. Couples. Friends. Families. You name it, people were lined up for miles to get on the cheap ride which does not even compare to the London Eye but we’re glad it was enjoyed by so many!
While the duelling competition did not have the turn out as previous years, there were some exciting duels to witness. For the third year in a row the wizarding world watched Cullen McIntyre best Elizabeth Kingston and other winners included; Levi Hilfiger (against Sutton Bane), Mercy Morgan (against Kazunori Zhang) and Raiden Hwang (against Calvin Klein). Congratulations winners!
The broom race was also a little disappointing this time around but not everyone can be a racer. First place goes to Tecwyn Geddings. Second place to Hae-Soon Hwang. Third place to Levi Hilfiger and in last place little Albus Potter.
Joining our return acts for the evening entertainment this year were Hina and Tamanui Avaiki and their Tahitian dance to Ukelele was a delightful change from the usual.

Finland was up against Iceland. Now this was one of the more exciting matches as they did seem to have some better players on their side. This could have gone either way but it was Iceland who pulled the win out by getting the snitch from under Iceland's nose. Slovenia was up against the Netherlands.
