Welcome to Witch Weekly! while the magazine has been around for years, we've recently been bought by The Daily Prophet due to lack of individual sales. We'll now be featuring a spotlight section on members of the Wizarding Community and bringing you advice from our dearest columnist, A. If you have questions, concerns or need advice about your love life, please don't hesitate to write to Witch Weekly at the Daily Prophet with the title of your Owl "Dear A" and you will find your answer in the next edition.

Mone't Zabini

What can be said about Mone't Zabini other than she seems to be a young woman full of conflict. Born in Paris, France, to a father who liked to travel, and if my understanding is correct, a mother who worked for the British Ministry, Mone't was the reason for her father to finally settle down, but this s not an article about her parents. It's about her.

Mone't is a seventh year a Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a prefect of Gryffindor House, and a student who has no real direction in her final year of school. Seems, irresponsible if one was looking for an opinion.

Mone't sees herself entering a career as either an Aurora or a Cure developer, but doesn't know which she would prefer. She's also currently involved in someone she's embarrassed to talk about. Hmm. Fishy, girl!

Caydron Morganach

Caydran Morganach - a mysterious man. a man of secrets. a man who shows the world only what is on the surface.

Caydran was born on Dec 21 and is a 30 year old bachelor. That's right all you readers looking for love, he's single. Just don't get your hopes up. Mr. Morganach seems quite jaded and I suspect it will take someone pretty special to melt the ice around his heart.

Caydran work as a bartender though has alluded to a secondary career which makes his dreams come true and hopes to rise to the highest rank in this mysterious field of his, but what is it? He has denied to confirm what this other career of his is but seems to be the type of man destined to go places.

Welcome to the second edition of Witch Weekly! we hope you enjoyed the first edition and are ready for this new one because I got some juice to share! Sheldon Corner

Born and raised in London, England, Sheldon Corner is the son of a very well known name. Ollivander; yes the wands. His mother is Gwendolyn Ollivander whom I believe is the granddaughter of the famed Ollivander Wandmaker in Diagon Alley. A famous name always makes for a great story! Sheldon is fourteen years old with big ambitious to change the world and make it a better place for all those who are living in it. If that jives with you, you should definitely check this cutie out because Sheldon is also single. He likes Ancient Runes, Astronomy and reading – sounds like a smart guy just waiting to sweep a lucky someone off their feet.

Min-Jun Choi

Here’s a mystery for you all to pine over and maybe someone will woo; Min-Jun Choi. He’s twenty-four years old and single everyone. Not sure whether he likes ladies or men (though he did say I was gorgeous!) but that is besides the point. Someone should scoop up this delicious piece of eye candy before it’s too late and the tides have turned. Min-Jun Choi is a successful business owner who was born in Seoul, Korea and currently lives in muggle London. He was raised to take over his family’s company and seems like a family man given that he would one day like children of his own. Min-Jun Choi is looking for the one so if you’re interested in a loyal family man, he’s your guy!

I think my friends have a problem. Lately, I have not been able to pin them down for anything fun. One friend in particular is just all over the map snogging every guy he gets a chance to snog. I don’t understand it. Is it hormones? Is it puberty? Is it me? Is there something I’m doing wrong that my friends seem more interested in spending time with people they can snog than they do with me? Any advice will suffice, thanks!

You are likely not doing anything wrong. It’s definitely hormones and puberty. Some people reach that stage sooner and their interest in exploring intimate relationships with others develops long before others. There’s nothing wrong with being on either side of that spectrum. I know, right now it might seem like you’re losing all your friends to this thing called puberty but you’ll catch and when you do, your friends will be there to guide you. Consider yourself fortunate that when your time comes you won’t have to fumble through it alone. Don’t fret too much and look at this as a chance to branch out and make new friends who share your interests. You never know, maybe mister or missus first romance is lurking around some corner waiting for you. Good luck!

I know this guy. Complete moron when it comes to girls and social interactions all together. Like, literally, it seems like he just walked off the spaceship and is trying to navigate being a human. To start with, you sound like a really good friend (aside from referring to him as a moron and an alien) but your want to help him out is genuinely kind of you. I would recommend you tell him to find out what this girl likes and play to those interests. If she likes gardening, he should definitely get her some flowers. If she likes sports, he should invite her to see a game with him. But most importantly, tell him that one can never go wrong with open communication. If he likes her, he should just tell her. Straight forward honesty is always the best way to resolve any situation. Good luck!

Oh my dears! Welcome to our third and fourth editions of Witch Weekly. I'm afraid time got away from us and we missed Nov but we're here now with a double edition of juicy fun! Enjoy the little ride.

Rosie Huntington

There's a lot we don't know about Rosie Huntington, former Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she went AWOL during troubled times only to turn up again at Durmstrang teaching Transfiguration. Interesting, if you ask me. But Rosie would have likely been replaced by the late Kaleb Haywood anyway during those rough times we recently survived.

Born in October in Willoughby on the Wolds, Rosie and the Huntingtons are one of those well known pureblood families that extend their reach even to Russia with a branch living there. She currently resides in Castleton, Derbyshire when not at Durmstrang and has ambitious goals to reach Headmistress of the known Dark Arts school. Rosie has no desire to wed or have anymore children.

Jack Calhoun

Dear sweet Jack Calhoun, married to the current Minister for Magic (and that must be stressful!) and loving father of six (you heard me, six!) children. Seems the current Minister was wild and frisky in her younger days and can you blame her? Even at fifty, Jack Calhoun is a gorgeous piece of man meat, yum, yum!

Born in June, and living in London for the duration of his existence, Jack has achieved the dream. Marriage, children and has the career of his dreams! Jack is an Auror for anyone who doesn't know, and has no regrets about his life. Not often we hear that!

Shae Haywood

Well, ladies and gents, here is a hard one to crack. Miss. Shae Haywood, Head of International Magical Co-Operations and single to boot. Shae has no desire to get married or have children and at forty, perhaps all those youthful fantasies are out of the picture. But what if you meet the right fella, Miss. Haywood? Babies act forty have happened. Marriages at forty have happened. But perhaps you are too ambitious for a man to handle.

Shae was born in October in the small community of Otter St. Catchpole - the same community most of the Weasley family are from and Merlin! You could have had a Weasley, girl! Not to worry. This woman plans to continue her climb to the top with the goal of becoming Minister for Magic in sights. Good luck Shae!

Iris Nightingale

At the young, tender age of twenty-three, the lovely Iris Nightingale is still figuring things out. Currently working in the Department of Transportation as an Apparition Tester, Iris has not quite amounted to her dreams. In fact, she is not sure what her dreams are yet.

Born in London, England, in April, Iris figures she will likely end up somewhere in the Ministry once she figures her aspirations out. In the meantime, this lovely gal would love to fall in love, get married and have a couple kid. Mr. Right, where are you? Iris is waiting and seems like quite the catch!

It sounds like a song title: I'm in love with my best friend. Well, maybe not love I suppose, but in like doesn't have the same ring to it. The whole matter is that I really like this guy, but he's just not interested in dating. The worst part of it is that he's really cute and really sweet, and so lots of girls keep falling for him, but he's totally clueless. It's really hard to just be his friend. And there are people who don't approve of me being friends with him, never mind anything else. What should I do?

It’ll suck for her but speaking as a member of the fairer sex myself, there is nothing worse than a guy stringing us along with false hope of romantic intentions. Cassidy Douglas

This lovely fourteen year old is from Aberdeen, Scotland and is the cousin of the well known, notorious womanizer, Dean Stewart. There was always some rumours involving a scandal in the Stewart family and well, now we know as Cassidy reveals her parents are Roderick Stewart and not his wife, but a woman named Sybil Douglas. Born on Sept 15, Cassidy is a half-blood, half-veela mix and ashamed of her heritage and birth right. A little advice for Cassidy from the writer’s at Witch Weekly is use what the good Lord gave ya, doll! So what if your heritage gives you an advantage in healing, use it to your advantage, hone it and make yourself better by acting on those gifts you were given! And who cares if a guy falls for your beauty! Heck! Enjoy that beauty! Let’s face it, if you’re a horrible person beneath your good looks, he’s not going to stick around just because you’re undeniably beautiful! But oops, this is not an advice piece, this is a piece on Cassidy, so guys and dolls, here we have Cassidy Douglas, a beautiful Slytherin student just entering the dating world and waiting on someone to see her even truer inner beauty!

The Perfect Date

Unfortunately, our other candidates chosen have not returned their surveys and thus have been excluded from this edition of Witch Weekly. Because of that, I've written a few tips to planning the perfect date.

Tip 1: The most important step in planning the perfect date is knowing exactly what your date enjoys. You don't want to plan something they dislike, and you don't want to be mundane as to plan something as boring as dinner. Everyone does dinner. You want to be creative.

Tip 2: Do research. Knowing what is around your area and the fun activities available to you is important so you don't suddenly get stuck without a plan mid-date.

Tip 3: Check the weather - this is especially important if you are planning an outdoor date like a picnic or mini-golf or a Quidditch game.

Tip 4: Let your date know where you are going. Surprises are fine and all but if this is the first of a few dates, it's likely important that they dress appropriately and impressively, after all, the point in dating is finding your life partner!

Kazunori Zhang

Not only is he a pretty face among today’s youth, he is also ranking high in the duelling competition having made it to the third round!

At just fifteen years old, Kazunori seems to be a driven young man who has already established his goals in life and set on achieving them. We look forward to seeing this dream of Kaz’s future shop opening in our magical streets and to discover what this ambitious boy will be cooking up behind closed doors.

Kazunori enjoys Alchemy and Transfiguration as his favourite classes and, although he is of the homosexual variety, surely there are lines waiting for a chance to win over this heartthrob.

Mei Xing Zheng

Mei is an innocent looking Hufflepuff student at Hogwarts in her fifth year and is from Bath, England. Don’t be fooled by the innocence of this girl’s appearance though, she plans to become an Auror which means that there is a fierce, dangerous heart beneath that soft exterior.

Originally from China, Mei Xing is unsure of what her future holds, if she chooses to return to her home country or remain in England, but she does know that her love of Defense Against the Dark Arts is what inspires her to obtain a career in Magical Law.

Mei Xing is currently single and from what I gather, any man would be lucky to have this cutie for their partner, so boys, start lining up!

How long does it take for the grieving to end and life can get back to normal? It's been almost a year since he's been gone and I'm still not able to pull myself out of this darkness he left me in.

Don't pressure yourself. Everyone grieves at a different pace. While I don't know a lot of details of your loss and the relationship you had prior to him leaving, I can say that losing someone so dear to our heart is one of the hardest things to over come. You'll get there. Give yourself some slack and take care of yourself before you worry about moving on. Unless, of course, there's someone of interest already and you're worried your grief will mess that up? In that case, be honest with this new person and ensure they understand how much your loss has affected you. People really need to be more understanding of one another and have patience. Good luck.

Everyone needs someone to talk to and sometimes a stranger is better than those closest to us. Sometimes the world gets a little busy and we find ourselves missing deadlines but for everyone who has been waiting on the edge of their seat for the next edition of Witch Weekly, well, here we are! May's polls are in and here's out winners!

Brooklyn Chambers

Meet the young Brooklyn Chambers, only twelve years old and nominated as our Witch of the Month! What a beauty she is too and no doubt she will only grow into a more beautiful young witch as she gets older. The boys and girls will be chasing you in no time, Brooklyn!

Brooklyn was born in Cirencester, England to Jennifer and Robert Chambers, such plain Jane names but I suppose they are happy since they did not think outside the box to hard on little Brookey’s name. Brooklyn is young, impressionable, there’s still time to make a dent in her armour and persuade her one way or another on her future. Perhaps she’ll be a midwife or a concubine! Or hey, maybe she’ll go into the Ministry and throw those bimbo’s in charge out of their top seats! Anything is possible when you are fresh and youthful!

Blaze Nishimura

Blaze Nishimura is our young Wizard of the Month and it’s like pulling teeth to get some information out of him! We did decide that he was fifteen years old and has a birthday creeping in close. I certainly hope he has some good chums to spend sixteen with! It is a prominent age in muggle society though we prefer to celebrate seventeen! Next year, Blaze!

Blaze was born somewhere in England – see, pulling teeth! - and lives in Pendle, in Lancashire. He attends Hogwarts and seems to be a stargazer, daydreamer perhaps? Who knows but he does hope that in the future he gets married, travels and learns more about the world. Seems like a little mysterious catch, ladies! And he sings too! Ladies, scoop this boy up! There’s nothing like a boy who can serenade you!

I kind of ran out on this girl, well, by kind of, I meant, I didn't have a choice. I love her but loving her under the scrutiny of my parents was too much. They were trying to control my every move and getting out of town (even though it meant leaving her) was my only option.

I've finished school and have moved back home. I ran into her and my heart couldn't beat fast enough. I'm still in love with her but what do I do? I doubt she will ever accept me back into her life after the stunt I pulled.

Well...you should have used a glove? No. Sorry. That was rude. I think you are on the right track because you don't want to walk away. Showing up is half the battle. Keep doing that. Even if that's all you can manage, you're likely doing better than your own father did. Show up and be there for all the big and small things, but especially the small things.

Charlotte McPhee

Seems we’re doing a special this week on McPhee’s. Our next selected sweetheart is none other than Miss Charlotte McPhee. Charlotte is much younger than her formerly talked about cousin; born on July 6, 2005, she’ll be turning fourteen soon and entering her fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She’s a Hufflepuff. I wonder how the McPhee’s feel about this?

Charlotte McPhee has a doe-eyed expression and appearance like an Angel walking among us. From our Interview, the girl is incredibly too sweet to carry such a weighted name. We all know about that grandfather! However, Charlotte seems timid and safe if anyone was interested in making a connection with a powerful pureblood family.

Still young, it’s not surprising Charlotte doesn’t have any set goals other than a desire for a serious relationship that results in marriage (she is single gents!) I suspect there would be some serious intervention with Daddy Dearest, Charlie McPhee upon desire to ask this pretty young thing out on a date. Not just anyone would do. Pureblood fathers do seem highly protective of their precious little girls.

Cole McPhee

Born on February 14, 2001, Cole McPhee of Colonsay Island, Scotland is definitely a poster child for romance. Just look at that smile and those dimples and the voice. Oh! I would let him sing me a love song any day.

When first interviewing Cole McPhee, he was attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry but as the term has completed, it is safe to say he has graduated. How well, seems you’ll have to meet this adorable lad yourself to find out, but don’t have high expectations. Cole McPhee’s off the market (and ladies, he’s not interested in us but that doesn’t mean we can’t fantasize about him serenading us with that sweet alto of his).

Now that he has graduated, it seems Cole has dreams of attending the prestigious muggle school; The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts but through the grapevine we’ve learned he flunked his audition. What his plans are now, we don’t know but we all know pureblood families like the McPhees won’t let their names be tarnished with failure. Cole will be all right.

I’m about to start my third year and I’m feeling a little nervous. Everyone around me is starting to talk about liking someone, you know, that way. Am I supposed to be starting to like people like that and wanting to kiss people?

Relax. Everyone matures and develops those feelings at a different rate. Just because Sally Kiss-A-Lot next to you wants to snog every guy, girl or other doesn’t mean you have to as well. Peer pressure can be a powerful thing but know that it’s okay to be unsure and not ready for those sort things. Your time will come. It’s more important to be true to yourself than to let others pressure you into doing something you’re not ready for.

When in doubt, I have this friend who says just kick them in the shin.

Almost a year ago I finally told someone how I felt about them. It as the first time I have ever done so and the response was...not what I was hoping for. It has made me wonder if I will ever have someone who cares as much as I do, or if I deserve to always be alone. It feels a bit pathetic to be writing this but I would appreciate hearing how I fix myself to be worthy of someone who won't leave me.

I'm just gonna call ya Chris. Listen, Chris. The thing people get wrong in love all the time is thinking they need to change or that they can change someone. You can't and you shouldn't. You are likely perfect just the way you are for the right person. It's just a matter of finding the right person. Obviously, this person wasn't it if things turned out poorly. I am assuming it turned out poorly since you are writing to me for advice. Don't change. Stay you and stay awesome in your own, unique and powerful way. Someone will recognize that and appreciate you for who you truly are. Perhaps the only thing you need fixing is your opinion of yourself. If you're finding it difficult to find love, perhaps you don't love yourself enough and that is why you feel unworthy. You need to be in love with the person in the mirror and that will attract people. Confidence is key my friend. Good luck!
