Thank you to those of you who have voiced your opinions, they were taken into consideration during our admin discussion and you'll see it reflected below. 

Basically, below is a rehash of the students and professors expectations with some reminds and alternatives because we think some people have forgotten some things.

At this point in time, the admin team has decided we are going to leave classes to be run as they are. No changes are going to be made to how INH runs classes.

Students – you are still required to make 3 posts to pass. This means you need a minimum of 3 posts in any class RP Lecture or the completion of any 3 extra credit assignments for any class or a mixture of all the things. Or whatever the Professor has available for their classes. The magic number is 3.

The grading scale will remain as follows:
Troll: 0 posts
Dreadful: 1 post
Poor: 2 posts
Acceptable: 3 posts
Exceeds Expectations: 5-7 posts
Outstanding: 8-10 posts or more

You are still required to make a tracker in the Class Bulletin board to track your class posts. Please ensure you are posting a DIRECT link to your post.

Internships are available for 7th years. If you opt to do an internship, you do NOT have to post in classes provided your internship is completed by the end of term. However, you CAN still post in classes if you are concerned about your internship not being completed in time. Completing an internship will also allow you to start as a second year trainee IF it’s the same program. EX: If you did an internship in the Auror Office, and then become an Auror Trainee, you can get bumped to a second year trainee. However, if you did an internship in the Auror Office and went to work for the Wizengamot, it does not count and you will be a first year trainee.

Professors – you are still required to post 1 lesson per year group you teach (which most of you have already accomplished). However, if you run a class which is not very popular and you only have a small handful of students signed up, speak with Ruth (Rosie Huntington ) about an alternative.

If you choose to do more, you are welcome to do more, but you must meet the requirements of 1 lesson per year group.

As a reminder to those in Professor Positions, we have NEVER forced you to do RP Style lessons. There has always been the option of writing a lecture and offering “homework” as an alternative to an RP. However, we have added a third option, which is basically the Extra Credit Assignments some Professors are already doing.

You may pick one of these options – if your class is smaller and you can’t guarantee to be active in an RP Style Lesson, why not try an alternative.

Option 1: Professors may choose to write up a "lecture" and assign homework in a Questions and Answers format for the students to complete. You will award house points for the completion of these homework assignments. This should only take students approximately ten minutes to complete as this is meant for fun. There will be a minimum of 5 questions per homework assignment. For every 5 questions answered, the student will receive up to 10 house points, and 1 class credit to pass. This means ideally, a student could answer 15 questions in 1 class in order to pass the term.

Option 2: Professors may do an RP class. You must be actively participating in this class. You may reward house points for students who answer questions correctly. You may also deduct points from students who are breaking the classroom rules IE: being disruptive, failing to do homework, etc. Class RPs may include things such as lessons or field trips, or completion of assignments, etc. Get creative and have fun.

Option 3: Professors may create “Assignments” similar to that of the current Extra Credit some Professors offer where the student completes a task whether it’s answering questions, completing an RP related to a topic, writing a short essay related to a topic, use your imagination. You are required to have 1 assignment per year group you teach. This could be solo assignments or students could work in pairs or small groups. It’s up to you how you want to set this up.
