It has always been part of the site that members can create their own spells and potions. It's been utilized minimally thus far. When developing a spell. Please include the name of the spell, the incantation, what the spell is used for, wand movement if it emits a colour when cast and any other unique properties to the spell as well as a counterspell.Spell name:

ACROASUS: magically reads a text aloud.
ALOHOMORA: opens locked objects.
AVIFORS: turns small objects into birds.
COLLOPORTUS: seals a door (counter to Alohomora).
DIFFINDO: cuts something open.
FLAGRATE: creates a fiery line that can be drawn into specific shapes with the wand and lingers for a few seconds.

LANGUAGE BARRIER SPELL (LINGUA OBICE): This spell, when cast, allows people who are attempting to communicate with a language barrier, which will allow them to understand each other. It will basically allow each person to automatically translate what is being said into their native language. Example: If Sally speaks French and Gary speaks English, when casts, Gary will hear English from Sally when she is speaking French and therefore will be able to understand her. This can also be used in textbooks to translate the words you are reading into your native language but only if you are reading them out loud. Note that the accuracy of translations depends on the skill of the spell caster. This spell has no colour when cast, it simply gives off a warm sensation throughout the body and suddenly it sounds like the person is speaking your language. Credits to Lou.
LUMOS: causes a small beam of light to shine from the end of the caster's wand.

REPARO: repairs an object.

REVELIO MAXIMUS: Reveals any objects/beings in the caster's way, especially good for people who are blind. Hold wand above head like a torch. The wand will pulse and vibrate to indicate something is in the way of the caster. The spell color is red. Credits to Lou/HP Wiki.
SPONGIFY: creates an unseen softening effect on sitting and landing surfaces.
UN-JELLYFY: a counter curse to the Jelly-Legs Jinx. Credits to AVPM or StarKid.

PORCUPINE TO PIN CUSHION (Hystrifors): Transforms a porcupine into a pincushion. Wand movement: Straight up then sweeping down and around to form a single loop. This spell has no color. Credits to Remy/HP Wiki.
REDUCIO: counter to Engorgio.
REPARIFARGE: untransfigure an object.
RICTUSEMPRA: causes a person to laugh uncontrollably.
SCRUGE: destroys ectoplasm.
TARANTALLEGRA: forces the victim's legs to dance.
VERA VERTO: transfigures an object into a goblet.
VERDIMILLIOUS DUO: creates larger green sparks

ABSCONSENSUS: Muffles sensory input, e.g. background noise, loud noises, bright lights, bad textures, for the caster or their target. Duration depends on the strength of the caster, but around a few hours. Credits to M.
ANAPNEO: clears the airway of the target person, allowing them to breathe properly.
ANTLER JINX: causes the victim to sprout antlers.
APISCUS: inanimates a magically animated object.
CARPE RETRACTUM: creates a retractable magical rope of light that can be used to pull objects towards the caster.
CHEERING CHARM: leaves the victim feeling great contentment.
DEPULSO: sends an object away from the caster; “Banishing Charm”.
DIMINEUNDO: Shrinks objects and humans and when cast is white or yellow. Added by Remy from the HP Wiki.
DISSEMINO: causes a receptacle to spread its contents over a certain area, (e.g. pours a bag of fertilizer across a field; applies a bucket of fly repellent to livestock.).
DRACONIFORS: turns an object into a small dragon.
DURESCO: hardens an object (instead of turning it into stone).
DURO: turns a target object to stone.
FELIFORS SPELL (Felifors (FEE-li-forz)): Turned cats into a cauldron. Wand movement: Make a half circle, a straight line halfway to the middle n then down. This spell has no color. Credits to Remy/HP Wiki.
FERULA: creates bandages and a splint.
GEMINO: creates a duplicate of any target object.
GLISSEO: causes the steps of a staircase to flatten, forming a slide or ramp.
IMPERVIUS: makes an object resistant to water.
LAPIFORS: turns an object into a rabbit.
LUMOS MAXIMA: lights up a large area.

PEROID: allows a sound you make to emanate from another location (ventriloquist spell). Credits to T.
RIDDIKULUS: used to repel a boggart.
SNUFFLIFORS SPELL (Snufflifors (SNUFF-li-fors)): Transforms objects (especially books) into mice. Wand movement: Point wand at target. This spell is pink. Credits to Remy/HP Wiki.
WADDIWASI: unsticks an object.
ABLATTERO: causes the victim to babble incoherently and incessantly.

ACCIO: summons an object. Works only if the object's whereabouts are known.
AFFLIGO: strikes a person, as if a blow were made.
AQUA ERUCTO: causes a spout of water from the tip of the wand.
BOMBARDA: blast open sealed doors.
COLOUR CHANGING: changes the colour of an object.
EFFLIO: casts a concentrated burst of gale-force winds from the caster's wand.
EXARESCO: used to make water evaporate or to dry a wet item.
EPISKEY: heals/repairs damage that was inflicted on a target.
EVANESCO: causes the target to permanently vanish.
EXPULSO: blows up the target.
GENUS PERMUTO: switching spells that can change certain aspects of different species.
INCARCEROUS: conjures thick ropes that wrap around an object or a person to bind them.
MOBLILIARBUS: moves a tree (no bigger than a Christmas tree).
OBSCURO: conjures a blindfold over the target person's eyes.
ORCHIDEOUS: conjures a bouquet of flowers.
QUIETUS: decreases the volume of a sound, typically one's voice. Useful for negating the Sonorus charm.
REDUCTO: blasts solid objects aside.
RENNERVATE: revives a person who has been hit with Stupefy.
SALVIO HEXIA: provides some form of protection to an area or dwelling.
SCOURGIFY: used to clean an object.
SERPENSORTIA: produces a snake.
SUSPENSION JINX (Suspensus): Causes the target to hover a few feet off the ground, locking them in suspension mid-air. Meant to prevent an opponent from moving or to incapacitate opponents without wounding them. Used by law enforcement on criminals fleeing the law. and invented by a 16th century duellist. When cast right, a jab and a flick, the spell produces a bright jet of indigo light. Once hit, an opponent would hover off the ground and be surrounded by the same indigo light which appears like a translucent layer across their body. Credits to Ken.
SPINNING JINX (Vertigino): Using a spinning, spiral motion, this spell makes a person spin like a top uncontrollably, causing disorientation or immense nausea. A bright jet of salmon-colored light is emitted from the wand when cast. Credits to Ken.
VIPERA EVANESCA: counter to Serpensortia; burns the snake into ash.
SONORUS: amplifies voice.
SPEED READING SPELL: Velox Legere. Allows the caster to quickly read through books and texts. Tap the tip of the wand to the caster's eyes and then tap the book to be read while saying the incantation and a white light will appear. Credits to Lou.
STUNNING SPELL (STUPEFY): renders the target person unconscious.
TERGEO: used to siphon off blood, dust, grease and probably many other things. It is similar to ‘Scourgify’
WIZARD DETECTION SPELL (Magi Deprehendere): used to detect magical beings in the area. If they have magical blood a purple aura will appear around them. Point to the area and swish wand. There is no color. Counter: Magi Occultare - prevents the effects of the spell

ACALANTHUS: temporarily transfigures an inanimate object into a giant canary.
ALVEUS: hollows out an object.
ARRICNEO: the "Bucking Bronco Hex," causes an object to attempt to throw a person off of itself. Can be cast on chairs, rugs, brooms, and animals.
ASTERISCUS: Summons 10-20 tiny metal stars (no more than an inch wide) that hang around the caster long enough for them to aim and then all fire at the same time. The aiming is more general, you cannot aim each individual star. Cast by A slash, upwards and to the left. The spell is silver when cast. Credits to SeaJem.
ASTRAPICUS: causes lightning to strike an object or person.
CONFRINGO: causes an object to violently explode.
BOMBARDA MAXIMA: Creates a huge explosion.
CONFUNDO: confuses the target.
DENSAUGEO: enlarges teeth of the target.
DEPRIMO: places immense downward pressure upon its target, often resulting in the violent fracturing of said target.
DESCENDO: causes any targeted object to move downward.
DISILLUSIONMENT CHARM: hides the true, magical nature of something.
ENERVATE: revives an unconscious person who has been knocked out by e.g. a blow to the head (NOT the counter curse for the Stunning Spell; Stupefy)
EVERTE STATUM: throws the victim backwards.
EXPECTO PATRONUM: creates a Patronus.
HOMENUM REVELIO: reveals humans in the vicinity of the caster.
ITCHING HEX (Pruritus): Using a flick and twirl of the wand, the spell causes uncontrollable itching at the target, as if they're constantly being bitten by hundreds of ants or as if they're suffering from a severe allergic reaction. A bright flash of scarlet is emitted from the wand when cast. Credits to Ken.
IMPEDIMENTA: freezes or throws back the victim.
INANIMATUS CONJURUS: conjures inanimate objects.
LANGLOCK: glues the target's tongue to the roof of his or her mouth.
LOCOMOTOR [OBJECT]: moves the specified object.
LOCOMOTOR MORTIS: locks together the legs of the victim, making him or her unable to walk.
OBLITERATE: removes traces or tracks left by someone.
OPTIO: throws a small ball of light from one's wand. Often used to illuminate long corridors.
PACK: items pack themselves.
PROTEGO: Creates a magical barrier to deflect hexes.
RELASHIO: casts a strong blast of heat from one's wand, often accompanied by sparks. Underwater, produces scalding bubbles.
SILENCIO: renders the victim temporarily mute.

AGUAMENTI: emits a stream or jet of clear water from the wand.
AVIS: conjures a flock of small, twittering birds from the caster's wand.
BEWITCHED SLEEP: puts the target person into a deep sleep; the subject is in a state of suspended animation and does not breathe for the duration of the spell.
BOWLING BALL TO BALLOON (Gravibus Illustrare): Turned bowling balls into balloons. Wand movement: Large loop from left to right continuing to a smaller loop right to left under it. This spell has no color. Credits to Remy/HP Wiki.
BUBBLE-HEAD CHARM: encloses the head of the caster in a bubble of breathable air.
DEFODIO: causes deep gouges to appear in the target object.
DEHISCUS: Splits an object down the middle.
DISSOCIO: moves two things apart.
DROUGHT CHARM: dries up small bodies of water.
ERECTO: used to erect a tent or other structure.
ILLUSION CHARM (ILLUSIO): This creates an illusion of a room/area/object to hide someone/something else behind the illusion. It's highly difficult to cast seamlessly and one must know how a room/area/object should look in order for it to convince others. The caster must stay concentrated on the spell, otherwise the spell collapses and the caster is revealed. It's a "smoke and mirrors" type of spell to make others think the caster isn't there. The caster must move their wand in circles to cast. Credits to Carman.
IMPERTURBABLE CHARM (Imperturbabilis): creates an invisible barrier around an object, such as a door, so that objects bounce off it and sound cannot be heard beyond the door. Credits to HP Wiki and Lou for an incantation.
KNITTING CHARM: used to enchant knitting needles to knit on their own.
MINERAL CONCENTRATION CHARM (Morbi Videntur (mor-BEE vi-DEN-ture)): This spell works by focusing on which color you want the glass to change to and the concentration of the mineral creating the color in the glass. Of course, this spell works better if you know which minerals are contained in the target glass to begin with. When the spell is done correctly, the glass will instantly change colors. If the spell is done incorrectly, a small crack will form down the middle of the glass. You cast the spell by starting from the left, drag your wand down diagonally to the right and then bring it back up diagonally continuing towards the right. You should end up with a V-shape. After drawing the V, make a light jab with your wand towards the object. The spell colour is silver. Credits to Remy.
OPPUGNO: conjures a creature controlled by a caster to attack a target.
PROTEGO HORRIBILIS: Provides some form of protection against dark magic.
RELASHIO: [real-ash-ee-oh] releases a jet of fiery sparks; underwater, this spell emits a jet of boiling water.
REVULSION JINX: forces the target to back off from the caster, letting go of him or her if the target is holding the caster.
TEA CUP TO TORTOISE (Testudofors (TeS-Two-DO-forz)): Transforms a teacup into a tortoise. Wand movement: Diagonal down-right, up, diagonal down-right. This spell is blue. Credits to Remy/HP Wiki.
TENTACLIFORS SPELLS (Tentaclifors): Used to turn a person's head into a tentacle. Wand movement: Starting at the bottle draw a wavy line straight up. This spell has no color. Credits to Remy/HP Wiki.
TORNIQUET PLACING SPELL (Compresanguis): Used in case of deep lacerations or splnching, where time is of the essence, this spell creates a torniquet and places it around the area in which the caster is pointing their wand. The torniquet helps prevent people from bleeding out. Wand Movement: Point wand at the target. The spell is blue. Credits to Kit-Kat.

ACCRESCO MOMENTUM: increases the speed of a falling object.
ANTI-GRAVITY MIST: creates a mist that hovers above the ground, and anyone who steps into it finds that up and down are reversed.
ANTI-LOCKING CHARM: causes the locked object to resist the unlocking charm.
APPAREO: causes an invisible item to become visible (does not work on the invisibility cloak).
ASCENDIO: flings the caster high into the air.
DELETRIUS: Erases images and magical after-effects [counter to Priori Incantato].
FRACTURING CURSE (Fractura): Causes the target to feel an intense, concussive, crushing impact on the body part it hits. The more powerful the caster, the more significant the injury until the bones shatter like glass. When performed right, with a quick forward jab of the wand - tip first - the spell manifests as a comet-like, orb of indigo light that rips through the space it passes through. Credits to Ken.
LUMOS SOLEM: creates a blinding flash of sunlight.
METEOLOJINX RECANTO: halts a spell that is causing rain.
MOBILICORPUS: moves unconscious bodies.
PRIORI INCANTATO: causes a wand to reveal the last spell it performed.
REPELLO: keeps something away from a target person or object.
PROTEAN: a complex spell that makes something change form (protean).
SHEARING CURSE (Ventris Caura): Using a swish and jab, this curse produces a powerful blast of wind that can flay and shear skin, depending on intensity. When cast, it produces a blast of powerful, cutting winds. Credits to Ken.
SUPERSENSORY CHARM: lets the caster sense things out of their line of sight.
SURFACE TO QUICKSAND SPELL (Supprimere): Using a single downward, slashing motion, the spell gives any surface the qualities of quicksand, and is mostly used to trap someone by transfiguring the surface they're standing on into a quagmire that slowly sucks and swallows them. This spell emits a jet of dirty gold light. Credits to Ken.
WHIPPING CURSE (Flagratus): A curse meant to torment and inflict pain on the target. It leaves a visible welt mark the grows briefly before disappearing and is accompanied with the smell of scorched flesh. When cast right, with a slashing motion of the wand (like using a whip), there will be a scarlet crescent. The air cracks as the spell travels to its target, and on impact, a loud, echoing snap will be heard as if the flesh was hit bare by a whip. Credits to Ken.
WOUNDING CURSE (Laceris): Using a broad, slashing arc, followed by a sharp. downward flick, this curse causes jagged wounds to appear on its target, reminiscent of long, animalistic claws ripping through flesh. Depending on the strength of the curse, the wounds can take the form of a housecat clawing through flesh or bear-like claw wounds that dig deep through flesh. The curse manifests as a jagged, crescent streak of pure white that seems to claw through space. Credits to Ken.

ABLUDIFICUS: when cast on an item, prevents anyone from “cheating” with that item. Often cast on exam quills.
AGE LINE: creates a thin golden line on the floor, which affects anyone who crosses it if they're too young.
ANTI-DISAPPARATION JINX: prevents someone from apparating.
AVADA KEDAVRA: The "Killing Curse"; foremost of the unforgivable curses.
CRUCIO: An "Unforgivable Curse"; tortures the victim.
FLAGRANTE: causes an object to burn human skin whenever touched.
IMPERIO: allows the caster to obtain control of the victim. An "Unforgivable Curse".
IMPRECARI: "Antonin Dolohov's Curse", a Dark curse often used by Death Eater Antonin Dolohov. Cast using a slashing movement with the wand, causing a streak of purple flame to hit the target. Potentially lethal. Used by Dolohov on Hermione Granger during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.
MORSMORDRE: casts the Dark Mark.
CATERWAULING CHARM: when an unauthorized person enters the target area while the effect is running, a caterwauling noise will go off.
CAVE INIMICUM: used to strengthen an enclosure from unwanted visitors.
CESSATION OF MAGIC CHARM (PRAECANO): The basis of the charm is that it prevents the use of magic. For example, Aurors and Magical Law Enforcement Employees would use the charm on handcuffs so when they arrest criminals they cannot just apparate out of the clutches of the Auror/MLE Employee. This spell is extremely difficult to cast as it takes a lot of concentration and energy to learn, cast, and perfect. It can only be cast upon inanimate objects - not living beings. However, when in contact with the object, magic will be prevented. When cast correctly, the object will illuminate in a pale white light that fades within 5 seconds. If cast incorrectly, a dark aura will manifest around the object. The counter curse, Dimittas, can only be performed if there is no physical contact with the charmed object. Credits to Lou.
DETABULUS: makes an object unplottable.
FIDELIUS: Hides a secret within someone.
IMPREGNABLE BARRIER CHARM: incantation must be the following three charms in quick succession: Protego Maxima, Fianto Duri, Repello Inimicum. Creates a very strong magical barrier around a selected environment. Bodies attempting to cross the barrier instantly disintegrate. Barriers can be worn down over time via spell bombardment.
PIERTOTUM LOCOMOTOR MAXIMUS MORTUUS: Spell to create an Inferi. it is a green colour when cast. The spell takes at least three times the energy it would to cast the basic animation spell on objects due to the size of the object (in this case the corpse) that is being cast upon. It takes a lot of willpower, concentration and strength and should not be performed by those with weak hearts. The only way to get rid of the Inferi is with fire, the Firestorm spell is the best to use. Credits to Lou.
PIERTOTUM LOCOMOTOR: used to animate statues and suits of armour to do the caster's bidding.
PORTUS: turns a target object into a portkey.
PRIORI INCANTATO: causes the echo (a shadow or image) of the last spell cast to emanate from a wand.
PROTEGO TOTALUM: Provides some form of protection to an area or dwelling.
REPELLO MUGGLETUM: keeps muggles away from wizarding places.
RESTORING SPELL: forces an Animagus form that has transformed into animal form to revert back into human form.
SCORCHING CURSE (Fulminorbis): Using a slash, like a sword, this spell draws from negative emotions and intense rage, the curse is a more localized version of Fiendfyre, a less destructive version of the curse. However, the blast of cursed fire still causes great burning damage and injuries much like Fiendfyre and any other Dark Curses would. The flames continue to spread unless treated by a Healer, or the cursed flame dispelled. A crescent of intense, blue and white fire, or jet of blue fire, dependent on the caster, emits from the wand when cast. Credits to Ken.
STITCHING SPELL (ADGREGO NECTO): When cast correctly, this spell will seal large wounds with a series of stitches. It is a painful process as there is no relief during the stitching, but it will close up wounds and jump-start the healing process. This spell is made for close range and cannot be used offensively. It is meant to heal, not harm. The characteristic of this spell is a mostly transparent jet of light, which causes the wound to glow white for a short period of time while the stitches are placed. UNDETECTABLE EXTENSION CHARM: extends the internal dimensions of an object without affecting the external dimensions.
VISUS ILLUMINAS CHARM (VIDERE INTRA): When cast upon a person, this spell enables that person to see through things. This is especially handy in healing when dealing with internal damage the Healer might otherwise be blind to. There is no significant sign the spell has been cast, but once it has been cast, the person in which it has been cast has a noticeable change in their eyes. They lose colour and appear black and white with a grey misty haze (sort of like an X-ray or Ultrasound photo). When casting this spell on another person it takes a small to moderate amount of energy because one would believe it is easier to change another being than it would be to change oneself. When casting upon oneself it would be a moderate to a large amount of energy. Because this spell is meant to aid in healing, the best state of mind would be a calm and relaxed state of well-being with a hopeful attitude. Counter: Caecus. Credits to Lou.

CORPUS PERMUTO: The spell to perform spiritual switching magic which acts like a freaky Friday moment in which two people swap bodies and exist inside the body of the other. It is translucent, but the spell causes the targets to experience first a warming sensation, then an extremely painful period where they feel like they are being cut with a knife. Then an out-of-body experience where they can see everything from above before they wake up feeling confused and disoriented. Can be cast verbally and non-verbally. This spell requires extremely advanced transfiguration so a lot of energy is required to perform this spell, first time casters will experience complete exhaustion and almost pass out. It is necessary to be EXTREMELY focused. Absolutely no distractions. Counter-spell/curse: Corpus Permuto Finite. Credits to Lou.
DISSENDIUM: opens "One Eyed Witch" hump.
EMOTIONAL OVERLOAD (Auget Affectum Maxima): To trigger emotions and overwhelm those in a target area with greatly heightened emotions. Shoots out as a ribbon of white light for 50 yards, explodes and rapidly expands to cover a 100ft radius per person who's cast the spell. Appears as a fog of sorts and seeps up to fill the air. Has a delayed reaction for those who have low or no emotions, then it "fixes" the imbalance they have. After it's "fixed," it'll amplify by the amount of people who have cast the spell. For those with emotions already, it will amplify almost immediately so they'll have to be prepared for that. This forces the people within that radius to feel all emotions at an amplified level. Those who aren't accustomed to emotions can/will find themselves overcome and overwhelmed by them. The spell is amplified further by the amount of people who cast the spell. Ex: 2x if two people cast it, 3x for 3 people casting it, etc. Effect lasts 10 minutes. Credits to Carman.
FIENDFYRE: a type of fire made from Dark Magic. It is very powerful, as it cannot be put out by Aguamenti (or any normal type of water), but is very difficult for the caster to control.
FROSTBITE CURSE (Frigus): Using a slash, like a sword, this spell draws from the feeling of isolation and a desire to inflict the same feeling onto others, this curse creates a streak of cursed flames that mimic Fiendfyre to a lesser degree. (It can't destroy Horcruxes.) The flames cause immense pain and breakthrough novice defense enchantments. While the fire is extinguished upon contact, the victim immediately feels an intense, burning coldness, as though their flesh is being seared by ice rather than heat. The sensation is excruciating, as it mimics severe burn injuries but through cold rather than heat. The affected area turns necrotic, developing darkened, frostbitten tissue that is brittle and prone to cracking, similar to severe frostbite combined with third-degree burns. Like other wounds inflicted by Dark Magic, the injuries require a trained Healer to fix. When cast, a coal-black fire with vivid blood-red outline and core. Credits to Ken.
IMPERTURBATUS: creates a magical barrier on a door to prevent eavesdropping.

LEVICORPUS: dangles the target person upside down by the ankle in mid-air
LIGHTNING MESSAGES: taught at Beauxbatons, this is a non-verbal, simple wandless spell that immediately sends a message to the person on the caster's mind. The caster must write the message down on parchment, and snap their fingers while thinking the incantation (mittere nuntium) and the parchment will ignite like a sparkler. Once the sparks go out the parchment will disappear and reappear before the recipient. This spell is an easy form of wandless magic and can be taught to students by someone who knows it/attended Beauxbatons. Credits to Lou.
LIBERACORPUS: counter to Levicorpus
MUFFLIATO: keeps nearby people, or those to whom the wand is directed, from hearing nearby conversations.
OCCLUMENCY: protects one's mind from outside intrusion. (can start learning in 6th year).
SAGITTARCUS: Produces rapid bolts of fire from the caster's wand. Requires a specific motion involving the non-wand hand being drawn back from the wand like a bow. Upon release, the small bolts or bullets of flame will fire rapidly until the caster's concentration and/or magical power fails to sustain them - usually for a few seconds, although more advanced magic users can sustain them for up to a minute. SECTUMSEMPRA: leaves deep gashes in the target.
VULNERA SANENTUR: must be cast three times for maximum effectiveness; created by Severus Snape, this spell slows bleeding from wounds, clears residue around the wounds, and finally closes the wound. It is also considered the counter-curse for Sectumsempra.
