PERSONALITY:
zach has two very distinct personality. there is his work or public personality, who tends to be more clean cut, serious and business like. he's there to get things done and not mess around. it's something he was taught from a young age - work is for work, not playing around. but, then there is his private side. when not working, or around strangers, zach tends to let his hair down more. he's got a big heart, and loves to make the lives of his friends brighter. just... don't get him upset. he's got a bit of a temper. ASPIRATION:
zach is feeling pretty happy and fulfilled careerwise - that was why he'd worked so hard after graduating from hogwarts. he'd never say no to being the head warlock on wizengamot, but he's sure that'll come in time. in his personal life though? he'd like the courage to completely embrace himself - to settle down with either a witch or a wizard that he loves and not a witch that his parents choose for him. truthfully... he's more attracted to men over women.

FAMILY MEMBERS. | Andreas Marx; 62; businessman - retiring soon Lilian Marx; 60; homemaker Ryan Marx; 40; businessman, trainging to take over from Andreas Emily Marx; 38; homemaker |
CHILDHOOD. | zachariah was what most people would call an accident. a surprise. the unexpected child. but, his parents never made him feel that way - even if his older siblings really didn't care for him. they never understood why their parents would want another child, especially when they had two perfect children.
having such an age gap worked for zach's benefit - while his parents always tried to raise him in the "right" way, zach often had a lot of time to himself. during the wartimes, his parents sent him to norway to live with his grandparents briefly. his mum was worried about him being a child and exposed to those things. he loved the times with his grandparents, as he didn't need to compete with his older siblings.
at the age of 2, he showed his earliest magic skills when he levitated his bottle and knocked his brother in the head. in hindsight, it probably didn't warm ryan up to young zach. zach was still taught from a young age to keep the real person hidden, and to not let people get too close to him.
growing up, zach's closest friend was elle - their parents were friends, so he spent a lot of time with her. she was one of the few people that he could be just a kid with. his mother was happy to see that friendship, and encouraged it.
when his hogwarts letter arrived, zach couldn't believe it. his siblings always said that he'd never get to go - mostly because they wanted to bring the young one down. zach was so excited, as he knew that it would be a new adventure for him

SCHOOL YEARS. | zach was a little nervous when it came time to be sorted - mostly because of the 'horror' stories that his siblings would tell him. that hufflepuffs are losers, ravenclaws are teachers pets, etc... however, when the hat placed him into slytherin, he was able to breathe a small sigh of relief. he knew that his parents didn't care where he ended up, but his siblings would tease him if he didnt get into the "family" house.
it was during his time at hogwarts that zach perfected his two personalities. outside of the trusted few, zach portrayed the cool, calm and collected student. he worked hard, got good grades - and was everything that his parents expected. to the few that he trusted, he was a bit of a goofball, who loved to laugh and spend time with friends. he knew from a young age that he was attracted to men and women, but also knew that hogwarts was probably not the best place to experiment.
when zach made the decision to go into wizarding law, rather than the family business - he worked hard and pulled the some of the best grades in his year. while he was not at the top, he was happy to place in the top 5. even with his somewhat terrible herbology grade bringing him down. not his fault he wasn't born with a green thumb!

ADULTHOOD. | zach carefully controls how his life goes. there is the everyday zachary - the one who goes to work in the ministry. he worked hard for his role as assistant chief warlock, and is immensly proud of the work he does. he does his best to be a fair judge. to be honest, he probably spends a little too much time at work. that's a holdover from his dad's lessons - at the end of the day, work comes first and that is what people see of you.
then there is zach. he still has his close friendship with elle, and he knows that his mom keeps pushing for zach to propose to elle. and while that would be so much easier.. he doesn't think its the right thing to do. zach has never been able to talk about his sexuality with his parents, as he knows that they are too old school to understand that. he is open with his friends, and has participated in muggle pride events. now that was an adventure!
zach has a few good friends that he trusts, and is hoping to one day become the chief warlock. he'd like to be a force for change - he just hopes its change for the better. perhaps he'll settle down soon, but he's not sure if kids are in the cards for him

HERERP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
dom leaned back in her chair, yawning softly as she stretched her arms out. she'd been attempting to study for the better part of the last two hours and honestly, she'd probably read the same sentence fourteen times. she slammed her textbook shut, deciding that it was probably best to give up on studying for the night. dom reached for her bag, pulling out the last letter from her sister and giving it another read through. sure, there was probably better ways for her to stay in touch - but there was something about writing letters that made the young witch happy. she was glad to hear that victoire was doing well, even though dom missed having her sister so close.
sighing softly, she set vic's letter down and picked up her own pen, trying to find the right words. she knew with graduation coming at the end of the year, she needed to tell vic about her struggle with her feelings. that if there would be anyone who could understand it would be her sister. but, dom just didn't know how to say it. oh hey by the way, i don't like just boys, i actually think girls are pretty swell? dom thought to herself, trying to keep from internally rolling her eyes. it couldn't be this difficult. dom was just over thinking things, right?
