Miaoyu looked up from her seat, a slight smile tugging at her lips as Ji-woon approached. She took in his appearance—dressed nicely, clearly making an effort—and her gaze softened ever so slightly. So, this is the nervous mess...quite handsome, at least, she thought, recognizing the tension in his posture. It wasn’t the usual type of man she found herself around, but there was something endearing about how out of place he seemed.
When he spoke her name, she approached him and answered with a graceful nod. "That’s me. You must be Ji-woon," she said, her tone warm but with a hint of playful curiosity. Her eyes flickered to the bouquet of wildflowers he offered, and for a brief moment, her grin widened. "These are lovely, thank you," she said, accepting them gently. The flowers, with their simple beauty, were a nice touch—proof that he’d done a bit of homework, though his awkwardness showed he was clearly out of his depth.
"You’re off to a good start," Miaoyu teased lightly, giving him a wink as she sat back down. She placed the flowers beside her, letting them rest on the table as she motioned for him to take a seat across from her.
She could sense his uncertainty, the slight hesitation in his every movement. "Don’t worry, this is all just practice," she said with a kind smile, leaning forward slightly to ease the tension. "I’m not here to judge you. Let’s just have fun with it."
When he complimented her, she raised an eyebrow, the smirk returning to her face. "Why, thank you. You clean up quite nicely yourself," she said, glancing at his attire. "So, how are you feeling about this? Nervous? Excited? Ready to charm the socks off your fiancée?"
She leaned back in her chair, crossing one leg over the other as she watched him. She wasn't shy to let him see how exposed her legs were, especially with her dress so high cut. This was supposed to be a mock date, but it wasn’t about making him feel inadequate—it was about helping him get comfortable with the idea. And if there was one thing Miaoyu knew how to do, it was bringing people out of their shell. She did it with Danae and Sena, didn't she?
"You mentioned this is for your fiancée, Soojin, right?" she asked, genuinely curious. "What’s she like? Maybe we can start there—figuring out what she loves and what makes her feel special. After all, that’s what dating is all about, isn’t it?"
