Canon characters are accepted. There will be a list of characters below who are available. Please read through this entire thread before you decide on making a canon.

When claiming a Canon, you may use the celebrity who played them in the movies if it makes sense. For example, Eddie Redmayne played Newt Scamander but on INH Newt is 120 years old so it would not make sense for Eddie Redmayne to be the face of Newt Scamander. However, Harry Potter is only 36 therefore Daniel Radcliffe is who should be claimed for Harry.

You may claim a canon. When doing so, please ensure you do thorough research to keep the said character as true to the Potterverse as possible. For example, Ron and Hermoine are married with 2 children. This history cannot be changed. These are facts. When you claim to be Ron or Hermoine you must accept these facts. However, should Ron and Hermoine both be claimed and in play, the members playing these characters can begin to develop their story further. They might decide they want a third child. They might decide they are constantly fighting and wind up divorced.

Not all canon characters have detailed history and this is where the fun comes in. Characters without details histories available are much more open to change. An example of this is Roger Davis - that Ravenclaw who went to the Yule Ball with Fleur Delacour. He has no specific history so if this character has not been claimed but someone wanted to make Roger Davis' son. That is accepted.

There will be limitations on creating OC's that are related to canons. We will not be allowing 10 Malfoys and 20 Potters (random numbers). If you choose to make a character who is the son/daughter of a minor character, and the parent is not being played on site, you may develop a history for that family. This history becomes canon and anyone who wishes to join the family must adhere to the history. Example. Roger Davis has now gotten married to a muggle named Sarah. He has two children: Jack Davis and Max Davis. Jack and Max and Sarah have now become canon, adoptable characters.

When canon characters are in play, their storylines become canon. Should a canon then be shelved, their history from that player remains intact. Another member is allowed to pick up that canon, but they must adhere to the history that was created by the previous player. Example: Should the members playing Ron and Hermoine decide on a divorce but then the member playing Ron decides to no longer play Ron, a new member cannot come in and play Ron married to Hermoine. They are divorced. They may get back together though.

Members cannot create characters who are direct relatives of deceased characters. You cannot claim to be Sirius Black's son. Sirius Black is dead. He is not coming back from the dead. He never fathered a child.

The only deceased characters in the play will be ghosts. You may claim a ghost.

You all know the characters and have access to doing the research. Please ensure when claiming a canon or creating a canon family member you are depicting them as accurately as possible. We have provided you with some basic information regarding the available canons.

Canons and OC canons will be listed below along with their relations to the canons (for oc canons). Please review the lists and profiles of any OC canons that might effect your character.

PLEASE ensure that you include the relationship your OC canon is to the Canon character for easy tracking for the admins. IE: Elliott Weasley is the grandson of Ron Weasley's Uncle Bilius who is mentioned many times throughout the series or Arun Shafiq-Mustafa is the grandson of the Shafig mentioned in the 1920's who worked with Theseus Scamander at the Ministry.
