Evelyn Prince
50 Jun, 6th, 1970 Managing Director of the Prince Shipping Company/Smuggler Durmstrang Alumn Pureblood Wherever her yacht is | PERSONALITY: Evelyn is profoundly graceful and aloof. Some have accused her of being snobbish, but she's really just picky because she can afford to be. To a friend or a family member, she's sweet and even doting. To most anyone else, she's icy and distant. Evelyn knows that her business is a mean sort of business and that one must be ruthless to stay on top.To her, personal freedom and liberty are the greatest things, and nothing embodies that more than the open ocean. It's not just the key to her corner of the family business, it's the promise of limitless potential to someone with her set of skills. There's just so much to do, so much money to make, and so many treasures to move. She is the kind of family that knows what you like and makes sure to spoil you with it. ASPIRATION: Discoveries, rare treasures, illegal deals in shady places, high-society galas where she can show off her newest designer clothes, a casual glass of bubbly at the helm of her submarine... She wants to see her family continue to succeed, especially her three children, and all of her nieces and nephews. Right now, she really wants a vacation, so that's why she's been docking the Lemurian Star, her super yacht, around the UK. | LIKES: -The Ocean -Her family -Jazz & Big Band -Champagne -Her smuggling submarine, the Nemesis -Her super yacht, the Lemurian Star DISLIKES: -Disloyalty -Her youngest sister -Deserts/dry wastelands/arid climates -Most Beer -Lack of conviction in one's actions |

CHILDHOOD. | Born the first child of the enigmatic and powerful Ellen Prince, the expectations could not have been set higher for Evelyn. While her every need was met, the rules were strict and the learning reinforced. She was brought up to expect tight schedules and enjoy performing the many aspects of high-society. Posture, grace, projection, when to smile, when to laugh, when to show your emotions, and when to hide them. Her tutors were many and varied. She was brought up speaking English, French, German, Russian and Japanese. It was a lot to keep up with, but the tutors were more patient than Evelyn's parents. They tried to sprinkle in some Latin, but that didn't take until later. Evelyn managed to find time for fun when it was allowed, but that was a luxury that had to be earned. When she was old enough, she was finally taken to the Ocean and she took to it like second nature. She loved the ocean and boats and swimming. Her parents noticed her affinity for it and began to teach her of the family business. As soon as Evelyn understood that she could grow up and sail the seas for the rest of her life, she was hooked. Everything else took a back seat. That didn't mean her parents would let her slack in her studies, however. When she was 5, she gained a little brother and a year later, she gained a little sister too! She was thrilled when the next year after that brought another little sister for her to help watch over and play with. She wanted to spend as much time with them as she could, too, but that had to change when she turned 11. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | To keep Evelyn on track and disciplined in her growth into an adult, her parents sent her to Durmstrang Institute, where the rigid style would keep her occupied and busy and unable to distract herself with much. She kept few friends, and would find herself frequently having difficulty keeping everything balanced during her first few years of magical education. Her summers would be spent out on her family's great ships, out at sea putting what she had learned into rigorous practice, something she wasn't typically allowed at Durmstrang during lessons. Where the school emphasized theory, her tutors and parents emphasized practicality and practice. Being far out at sea, kept curious parties at bay while she was taught. By the time she was into her 4th year, Evelyn found her groove with learning at Durmstrang and how to keep her grades up while balancing study and her own interests better. Keeping disciplined schedules was key - just as the long-standing business of keeping the shipping and sailing schedules was vital for maintaining her family's fortune for centuries prior. As long as she treated school like the career she sought, she was able to thrive. She came back from 4th year to discover that her last sibling, had been born, rounding them out to 5 siblings in total. During her the summer after her 6th year, she met a boy while attending a shipping industry conference to learn more about her future career. His name was Gregory Locke, he was a half-blood graduate from Hogwarts, and the two fell in love quickly. They had a turbulent year of minimal communication, but once Evelyn had graduated, she spent as much time with him as she could, even when it meant spending less time with her dear siblings. |
ADULTHOOD. | Post-graduation, Evelyn's life began to truly blossom. As she was taught the finer points of the family business (specifically the sailing and cargo company's), her father also taught her the art of smuggling and how lucrative it could be for the family as a whole. He made sure Evelyn could be as ruthless and efficient as the job required. Meanwhile, her relationship with Gregory blossomed. He was not the pureblood suitor her parents arranged her to marry. That young man died in his sleep under mysterious circumstances that were never conclusively tied to Evelyn or Gregory (even though, they shared the burden of killing him for the sake of their relationship). Gregory was a more free-spirited young sailor who taught Evelyn how to cut loose a little and live her own life for herself, even if she continued along the career path she had chosen. Tragedy struck a few years later when Evelyn's father died in a foul storm at sea. The family mourned the loss, but it served as the tipping point for Evelyn's mother to give in and give her blessing to her daughter to pursue a future with Gregory. Very quickly, Evelyn and Gregory were married. Gregory joined up with the Prince Shipping Company as a first mate while Evelyn used her years of preparation to step up into the administration of the Prince Shipping Company under the continued instruction of her mother. Gregory became a talented ship captain as the years went on and the technology of ships developed further. When they had their three children, Elias, Elliot, and Eleanor; Gregory stepped back to raise the children while Evelyn kept the company running and began to personally oversee the smuggling aspects of the operation. The fortunes grew under her shrewd and efficient, no-nonsense administration, allowing Evelyn to make strategic improvements and acquisitions to grow and replace the fleet with newer, faster ships. The same illusory methods for obfuscating magical shipments among muggle shipments remained. If rivals sprang up, they were met with unfortunate fates. If enemies dared cross the Prince Shipping Company, they too met with unfortunate ends. Evelyn and Gregory's children grew up to be successful ship captains in their own rights, all active within the family business. Gregory retired early on a private tropical island, but sadly died to a Lethifold attack a few years later. Evelyn mourned his passing for a long time, and still remains a widow with no interest in marrying again. She had recently been obsessively doing smuggling work to help keep her occupied, but now she needs a break. She has returned to get closer to the rest of her family again after being away and busy for the last half-decade. |

"White Wyvern... Bingo," Trixie walked up the steps just outside a tattoo parlor she'd probably never go into, her eyes leveled at the hanging sign. Just off of work, she couldn't be more dry. Not why she was drinking tonight, though. At least, not entirely. After putting away her sunglasses, she dug into her pocket and produced a thin cloth of nondescript beige. She pulled it down over her blue-dyed hair and then slid it back up around the scarred mess that used to be her eyes. A brief shimmer later, she had a normal looking face again. What heights of vanity.
She shook her head and opened the door of the establishment, hoping this would be a good joint, given the proximity to everything else. It didn't matter that this was Knockturn, she was off duty. Her own father escaping Azkaban might not be enough to get her to put the badge back on tonight. Then again, she might reconsider after a few.
Trix took in the vibe of the place as she walked in and approached the bar. She slid up onto a stool an shrugged off her jacket, eyeing the shelves and bottles. She needed a battle plan. Local beer, then something actually fun... and what else? She eyed the room again, remembering this was Knockturn. Probably tequila... just plan for the worst, Trix. She got a little lost, staring at a curvy bottle and sighing into the void.
