28 2/14 Art Gallery Owner Slytherin Alum Pureblood London | PERSONALITY: Meet Arun, he’s a bit of an arrogant dude, he likes talking crap about people who seem lesser than him, what friends he does have, they don’t tell him to shut up so he has this constant need to speak about things that aren’t necessary to be spoken about. He’s a bit of a playboy, uses his knowledge of art and his extremely good looks to get people (not just women ladies and dudebros) to bed with him. But he has a vulnerability to him too, he has a daughter that he dotes on from an accidental pregnancy, he dotes on her like she’s the princess she deserves to be. Otherwise, he’s a rich man who flaunts himself out. ASPIRATION: He wants a proper family. CHILDHOOD. | Arun Anubis Shafiq-Mustafa was born on Valentine’s day 1992, to an already chaotic life. His mother and father were only together because his mother was financing his father’s business, and his father just wanted all of his mother’s money, so over the time of a seven year period, his mother decided that she was going to try to make sure that if Sayid did happen to try for a divorce, she would get everything. She was smart, and she was part of one of the long lost sacred 28 families, there weren’t many of them left from what she was told. Arun simply just watched the two argue all the time, and it ended up ending when he was seven, his mother’s relationship to his father dissolved, they got a divorce, and as expected, Sayid lost everything, his wife, his business, and worst of all, his only heir. When he was eight the pair moved to London, his mother had a home that she had inherited off her mother when she died some years back and the two built a life there, he learned how to read English, he learned math (which of course he hated because who in their right mind would like math if it didn’t have to do with money), and he became obsessed at a young age with art, and he spent years telling his mother that he wanted to do something with art when he got older. Throughout the years between moving to London and his years at Hogwarts, his father tried getting in touch with them for money, using him as the go between until he finally just stopped answering him all together.Min. 200 words. SCHOOL YEARS. | If we’re going to be honest, Arun didn’t know how to feel when he started school, in fact he didn’t like it very much. He was so used to being near his mom, not having her around him kind of threw her for a loop a little bit. But he did use his owl Saara more often than not to keep up with her, tell her how much she missed her, told her how fun the art was. His studies were harder for him than most, while most of them were originally from there, (somewhere in the british isles) since birth, he had only been there for a few years, english, not his first language, he didn’t understand some things. After the hat sorted him into Slytherin, you could see as to why he was put there. He was arrogant, came off as rude, got detention all the time for talking back to the teachers because ‘That isn’t how he learned how to do that.’ but there were some things he excelled in. Potions and Charms were his goto when he needed something, he was also good with Transfiguration. His first year was also when he met his first love, a young Hufflepuff pureblood girl named Henrietta. The two were inseperable all through school, she would help him with Herbology and Defense against the dark arts, his two worst subjects, and he would help her with Potions and Transfiguration. He got in touch with his mom about her, let her know they were dating, so that she could look into the family. Pureblood only was the way to go. In their fifth year, they had decided to try to learn what their patronus were, or if they even had one. Henri’s was a sloth, Arun’s was an Ocelot. They were both pleased that they could produce one and they had their first kiss that night. It wasn’t puppy love anymore, it was the real thing at this point. They also did their OWLs that year, Arun got O’s in Potions and Charms, but got an A in Transfiguation, he couldn’t really concentrate much on that one. In their seventh year, they consumated their relationship, and Henri got pregnant. He was nervous to say the least, He did well on his NEWTs and everything, so did she, and surprisingly the world didn’t end when they told their parents that she was pregnant. They’ve been together seven years, they might as well could have been an arranged marriage.Min. 200 words. Max. 500 words. |
ADULTHOOD. | The joy didn’t last though, two months after they graduated, Henri had complications with the baby, and the healers told Arun it was either going to be her or the baby, he couldn’t have both. Henri was losing blood on a massive level, even he knew that she wasn’t going to survive, So on August 28th, Sadiya Phoebe Henrietta (after Henri’s nan and Henri herself) was born, and it was also the day the love of Arun’s life died. He vowed that he would help take care of her whenever she needed it. When he turned 21 he decided that he wanted to run his own line of art galleries, he asked is mother for money to start it making her a silent partner, whatever commissions he made on painting or art sales, he would give a percentage to her since she was going to be paying for a aton of it. This was also the year he moved out of his mother’s house to try to live on his own, if he was going to be an art dealer he was likely going to be on his own a lot anyway. He flaunted his money around like it was his own, he dated both men and women, he never once mentioned the word love, the only person that he was convinced he loved was Henri, and he wasn’t about to break that love. At this time Sadiya was three, and she was getting money weekly in a gringott’s account for when she was going to go to school, or to spend when she was out and about. He saw her every day, he loved that little girl more than anyone in the world. And even if he was dating around, he vowed that he would never have another child unless Sadiya said it was okay. He wouldn’t get married unless Sadiya said it was okay. By the time he was 25, he had his own income, he had three galleries, one in London, one in Glasgow, and one in Cardiff, He was making good money, he would even start bringing his daughter on trips with him, having a seven year old on your arm gave the women someone to ‘awe that’s sweet’ at him and Sadiya, mostly because of the whole single dad thing, yes, sometimes he’d use his daughter to get into bed with someone, but even Sadiya realized when her dad was lonely. He was always lonely. The bedmates were one and done, maybe there were a couple times when there were true friends with benefits, but most times it was just one night stands to make sure he was sated Now he’s 28, has more notches under his belt then he probably should ever have, and is as lonely as ever. He uses his job now to keep himself from thinking about it, he grumbles about everyone behind their backs, upside he does have a pet ocelot, her name is Hadley. He’s hoping that since this year is the year that Sadiya gets her Hogwarts letter that everything goes okay, she does well, and he himself does well. Lycorma delectica, otherwise known as the spotted Dragonfly, not known to most around this area because it’s mostly found in Asia, but it was found most recently in the United states for the first time a couple of years ago. Nothing too interesting other than it likes eating crops and it’s quite invasive in that respect.” She stopped taking the notes and looked at the bug, honestly it was one of the tamer ones she’s met with lately, Basically what she had learned about them was how much fruit and walnuts they lived off of. “Of course I find a tame one in Asia.” she said to herself as she looked at everything, just inspecting it.
When she decided to do bugs instead of dragons, her family was more than happy to live with that, but the travel was what they were afraid of, so she always contacted them to let them know she was fine. She went to the little flat that she was renting while she was in China, and it was more than she was willing to pay for more than two weeks, she started a small fire in the mediocre fireplace and had a small conversation with her parents “Everything went fine, I’m going to be back in London next week.”
“We’re glad you’re going to be back in the city, we should have a family meal when you get back. Arabeth is going to bring the kids, they always get so excited when you come home, for some reason they really like your stories about when you travel.” Ellie said, this was probably the one part of the powder she enjoyed, she could expect calls from it. Travelling by Floo though was a pain in the ass. And she knew she was going to have to to get home.
“And I like telling my stories, been thinking about writing a book actually. More about the bugs then the travelling but you know how it is, I’ll be home in a couple days, I’ll be using the network to get home, so you won’t mind if I use the house to pop in right?”
“Of course not, and even though I don’t particular care for it, but make sure the bugs don’t come out in the house.” Tony said.
“Of course not, I wouldn’t let animals out in the house, I’m not an idiot. And they’re all in jars anyway, so I won’t do anything too out of the ordinary and I’ll show the kids the bugs in the jars and how I got them, and keep them there.”
“See you in a couple days. I’ll bring some gifts home for you.”
They left the call, and she started to pack the stuff that she had gotten and what things she had and went to bed for the night, she had one more day of exploration left to do before she went home.
