BASIC INFORMATION
Anashka sarkovina markovic 27 March 30 dark arts dealer durmstrang pureblood Moscow, russia | PERSONALITY: Ana can be described as cruel, unforgiving, selfish and terrifying. She believes herself far more superior to any aside from pureblooded wizards. Even then, her conceited pride in her family's standing and her own place in the world showed her to believe she was above even most of the pureblooded wizards. Her love for violence, torture and general mayhem earned her a strong, if entirely negative, reputation with both aurors and the rest of the wizarding world alike. Mercy isn't in her vocabulary and she will use any means necessary to get what she wants. LIKES: causing chaos, jewelry (the more expensive, the better), the sound of screams over the roar of explosions, espionage, the smell of fear when she tortures someone. DISLIKES: people or tasks that waste her time, muggles, law enforcement who are against her, mudbloods and other impure people who claim to be wizards, being denied something she wants ASPIRATIONS: her main aspiration is world domination and the eradication of the impure from society. |

HISTORY
CHILDHOOD:
Ana spent her early years being raised in high society, taught everything that a young Lady would need to know to navigate within the elite. She spent her days learning etiquette, manners, dance, music and many other things. For the most part, she didn't see much of her parents - spending time mostly with her nanny, sister and cousins. Many times, when she was between classes with her tutors, Ana would try to sneak out to play with her sister and cousins. More often than not, however, she found herself being scolded by her father, who lectured her endlessly on how a proper Lady shouldn't be running in the mud or catching rabbits in the brush. Mostly, it didn't change who she was and how she thought. It was just a part of life. Since she was the youngest, Ana was used to being able to manipulate her parents or other family members to get her anything she wanted.
An adorable look from a beautiful young child, distinguished in social circles already, and a bat of her stunning icy blue eyes and they were hers for the taking. Her being used to getting exactly what she wanted when she wanted led her to her confirmation that she (and her family line) were far more superior to anyone else. Because of this, she simply wouldn't take no for an answer. The amount of things she broke as a child astounded her mother and infuriated her father. Despite this, Ana managed to convince them that it was far better to just give in to her desires than to risk another fight and have something else either expensive, cursed or both lost to a tantrum. This was her face at home, however.
During her vacations from Durmstrang, the parties and social gatherings she attended saw her as the embodiment of what a high class young lady should be. Her manners were impeccable and there were few times where she managed to anger another noble on accident. Rather, she would please and appease when she saw something in the deal for her, and arranged "messages" sent to those who displeased her. This continues even now. Ana has learned well how to manipulate those around her to do what she wanted them to do - whether it was a slight nudge or a violent show of force. She made her mark on the Russian wizarding high society with a reputation that was meant to frighten and intrigue.
SCHOOL YEARS: The school years have been grouped together depending on what school you attend. Please briefly touch on each year as you write your school year history. Pick the Remove what's irrelevant (Mahoutokoro and Beauxbatons have ten years, Durmstrang has eight.)
FOR DURMSTRANG STUDENTS:
YEAR ONE/TWO/THREE:
Starting out, Ana was a typical child despite being raised in an extremist pureblood household. Some of her classmates felt she was rather spoiled and naïve. Despite this, Ana had her sister and cousins to look up to during her first years at Durmstrang. She strove to be the "perfect Markovic" just like her cousin Sebastian was in her eyes, making extra sure to excel in the dark arts, potions and other subjects to impress her father. Being the youngest of her siblings and cousins afforded her a life of being doted on. For the most part, she made sure she was only associating those whom her family would consider the "superiors" in her class - purebloods coming from honorable families. With this sometimes meant she fell into the less savory crowds and earned herself detention a few times because of it. Despite that, she always came out of it happy to go right back to what she was doing before.
YEAR FOUR/FIVE/SIX:
By the time she reached her fourth and fifth year, Ana had established herself as one of the elites in her group, choosing to lead rather than follow. With the mantle and expectations of the Markovic name came a heavy burden that sometimes stressed her to the point of sheer cruelty. She hadn't as much "changed" through the first three years of school, rather evolved. Ana started to take a stronger interest in spells, jinxes and curses from the dark arts and quite enjoyed reading the exploits of famous leaders such as Grendelwald, Lord Voldemort and others sharing their ideals. This was, after all, the embodiment of pureblood society. She became the prim, proper and high class daughter that her father wanted to see, if only just to try to gain more approval from him. Nothing ever seemed to be enough, however. Instead, he doted more on her cousin Sebastian since he would likely be the heir to the Markovic family name. This realization made her bitter and rebellious against any expectations of her. Her pride ruled her, changed her from a child that had seen high society as a game of fun with her sister and cousins and turned it into a show of power struggles within and outside of the family.
YEAR SEVEN/EIGHT:
When she reached her last two years in Durmstrang, Ana had made a solid reputation as one of the "bad eggs" and led her group through fear more than friendship. They'd only dared to question her a small handful of times before realizing they shouldn't if they didn't want to be seriously hurt, or worse. After all, "accidents" happened all the time at a wizarding school. Who would possibly know the difference? Mid-way through her seventh year, Ana experienced a violent attack that caused a drastic change in her. Though she rarely spoke of the incident, it was brutally clear that the attack only served to make her violent tendencies worse. Her "friends" mostly stayed loyal either because they enjoyed her level of masochism or were entirely too petrified to consider leaving the group. Those who spoke out against her or openly opposed her views often found themselves in quite unfortunate "accidents" not long after. Even in a school such as Durmstrang - one famous for its stance on the dark arts - Ana stood out in the crowd as extreme. Her thoughts and ideas weren't always logical or even sane, but she wouldn't hear of any complaints or questions. She'd gotten used to getting exactly what she wanted, when she wanted and refused to take no for an answer from anyone.
ADULTHOOD:
After graduating school, Ana managed to get a job at one of the shops in the shadier side of the Russian wizarding world. Her life consisted mostly of learning how to procure certain dark magic objects and sell them to the highest bidder. She used every resource at her disposal and soon created a network of spies, thieves and cutthroats who would make sure whatever object she wanted or needed to get (whether for herself or a potential buyer) was procured so she could sell it. Her initial boss, a middle-aged woman named Ina, taught her the initial ropes but was eventually impressed by her protege's abilities. This allowed Ana to take more to the field rather than being stuck in the stuffy store she'd been in for several years learning to do her job. By being in the world, Ana found herself enjoying the night life to its fullest. She partied, drank, killed and maimed her way to a less than pristine reputation amongst the wizarding world. For the next few years, Ana reveled in her freedom and funds that she received from her sales as well as the money her family's name allotted her. Being a Markovic gave her a lot of power within the underground. That, along with the reputation she made for herself, made her one of the most loathed by the "better" side of society, feared by the weak and respected amongst the elite of the wizarding world.
Now she uses her network of contacts in her most recent plans for world domination. Sure, Voldemort and Grindelwald failed, but their plans had major flaws that they'd not seen. After all, who puts up with those who are trying to tear their empire down? She'd been told early in her school years to learn from the past so she wouldn't make the same mistakes they did and she took it to heart in a way her teachers hadn't anticipated. Instead of trying to do "better" to make the world a "good" place for everyone, she found those weaknesses, studied them and decided to right their wrongs in her own plans. Now she travels across EurAsia under the initial pretense of a dark arts artefact dealer while recruiting those she saw worthy to join her cause (whether they liked it or not) and killing the ones who opposed her for any reason, or who weren't "pure" enough for her what she saw would be a perfect world.

The screams were sweet, wonderful music to her ears. With each spell that tore through the muggle population and with each shriek of terror, Ana could almost feel her heart try to beat out of pure, thrilling excitement. Already their mayhem was lighting up the streets. The building nearby still roared with a fierce, blazing fire that rivaled even the worst forest fires. Of course the magic that Kat had put behind the bomb was to blame for that splendor. And then the massive tree that had collapsed was roaring to life nearby with a ferocity all its own. Ana paused her own spell casting to take a survey of the area. All in all her plan was working. In reality, hashing out a public display of chaos wasn't the most "mature" way of handling things, however it was the best way to make their statement.
Already the papers were doubting the confidence of the minister and senior undersecretary as well as the Auror department. The only people who could really take care of the lot of them with enough force to make a difference was the Order, at least in her opinion. The Aurors were good but they tended to fail simply because they were bound by their stupid laws. Pulling the only organization that stood a chance against people like them towards the Aurors and binding them to laws was illogical and idiotic to her. It was also no fun. Ana remembered just how massive the battles between the Death Eaters and the Order had been way back when, remembered just how epic it all was. The dark side called for few rules and thus fewer restrictions to their curses and actions. They didn't follow the law and so it didn't bind their wands. Simple as that.
Ana looked around, watching her companions as they had their fun. Kat had already taken the initiative to take care of the muggle police, effectively controlling their leader and turning the other ones on the muggles they were supposed to protect. So much for their stupid conscience. It was a nuisance anyways. She smiled and watched as Jones appeared and immediately went towards Kat, outright challenging. From what she knew of the duo, they had made quite the impact on each other during the years, each choosing to do everything in each of their powers to take the other down. Carman had almost succeeded and if it weren't for the help of a couple of Kat's friends, Carman would have succeeded. This time would be different, though. With Ana's help, Kat was sure to turn up victorious this time around and finally get her revenge at last.
Her attention spun towards that of her cousin. Scythe wasn't usually the battling type, however he'd agreed willingly to help her in conquest of England and then the rest of the world. With his help and support, she was sure the edge would be hers. He was always so calm and collected. Instead of throwing curses and tearing muggles down in powerful shows of force, he took instead to calm, yet terrifying attacks concentrated on a few people near him. Ana's attention turned back towards Kat just as a spell shattered a car window near the wolf. She frowned, Kat jumped and both of their attentions turned momentarily towards the blonde bimbo who liked to call himself Taylore. Yet, instead of causing anger, Ana felt a surge of excitement well in the pits of her gut. Taylore had gotten away, albeit narrowly, the last time they'd dueled but he wouldn't get away this time.
Something was up though. Taylore had focused his attack on Katarina, something rather unusual since the two didn't have any open beef together. She pondered, but a little too long. In the end the small distraction of the curse hitting the car near Katarina was enough to make sure she hadn't noticed that he'd bedazzled a flaming boulder and flung it straight at her. Her only indication was a sharp heat out of nowhere, allowing her instinct to kick in. The only thing that screamed in her mind was move. Move as fast as you can. Without thinking, Ana blurred to the side, though not before her left arm felt the intense heat of the boulder. She winced in pain, appearing nearby with a singed sleeve and welts appearing on her porcelain skin. Damn it! One moment letting her guard down and already another shirt was ruined. This kid was gonna cost her her entire wardrobe at this rate.
Ana snuck into the shadows of a nearby vehicle that had crashed in the chaos, its former occupants long gone in the attempts to escape their impending doom. She took the time to take a look at her arm. It wasn't as bad as it could be, though it would definitely take a minute to heal. She flexed her fist and arm to see if it was still workable. Thankfully the hit wasn't bad so she could duel while it healed. Then she heard Taylore's voice bellow out into the night air, her gray eyes alert just in case he decided to attack again. Her wand was clasped firmly in her right hand, ready to make a permanent mark on him. He was challenging her and what good would she be if she didn't honor that challenge?
Slowly, she peeked through the window to get a view in the distance of her opponent who was trying to square off, though noticed someone else enter the field. Keeley. Ana remembered her not so fondly from many years before as the little brat of an Auror who had tried to take her down. The girl had failed miserably, as was standard for the insufferable Aurors like her, but not before taking a few hits of her own. Unfortunately it seemed the girl had brought back up. The other Aurors filed out, trying to get the muggles out of the vicinity. Insufferable goodies always getting in the way of their fun. Ana looked around, examining more of her surroundings for something to use as an attack until her arm fully healed itself. Nearby, next to another complex, were a series of large oak trees that hugged the building. Perfect. "Lignum Vivit." Ana flicked her wand three times, watching as blasts of yellow light burst from her wand tip and hit three of the larger ones in turn.
It took a moment but soon enough a rumble followed by the sounds of crumbling sidewalk and concrete that made up the building filled the air. Large roots burst from beneath the soil like tentacles stretching out, forming what would be their mode of movement. Echoing groans burst from the trees as they pulled themselves from the ground to join the fight. "Oppugno." Her final spell hit each of them once again and she watched with an air of contented arrogance as they made their way towards Kenneth, Keeley and the rest of those who dared oppose her. Ana looked at her arm once more. It was healing. Just a few more moments and she would be ready to join the fray in full force once again.
