TERM 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS
. . .END OF TERM CLOSING IN!I know it might feel like we're bombarding you with announcements lately, and I promise this is likely the last one for a little bit!
We'll be in April as of tomorrow which means it is getting close to the end of the term. Term officially ends on Nov 24. With that being said, there are a few reminders to be put out there that you all will be very happy to be reminded of!
PROFESSORS - don't forget to be updating your class sign ups, awarding points for any sign ups (if you have chosen too and I think most of us have been) and awarding points for anything going on in class like students answering questions appropriately, etc. (I'm guilty of being behind in this as well so it's a reminder for me too!).
Also, just a reminder, to make it easier on the admin team, we ask that you keep track of the students who have posted in your class and submit that list by the end of term. Or post it somewhere in your class board.
STUDENTS - don't forget that you do need to 3 class posts to pass the term so those of you who have not successfully done this, get your butts in gear! I will be working on compiling a WIP pass list over the next few days. I have a rough one started.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS - I will be writing up the test for you since there are no classes for your international students to participate in. I'll try and tag you all once it is posted so you can ensure you pass your year.
KIDNAPPED STUDENTS - Some of our kidnapped students were taken as early as November and have missed A LOT of school. What does this mean for your kidnapped students? Well, Professor Stewart and Professor Huntington are not heartless! (maybe a little). Anyone with a student who has been in the prison has the option of being held back if they wish. Please PM the admin team (all of us together) if you choose to have your character held back and repeat the current year.
If you choose to have them move forward, there will be an IC Test. You do not have to do anything for this test, but it will be a part of your character's history that they took a test at the end of the 2017/2018 school year or during the summer of 2018 in order to advance to the next year. If you wish to RP this test, you are more than welcome to do so and it will be collaborative, testing your character on all the core subjects..
FIFTH/SEVENTH YEAR KIDNAPPED STUDENTS - You will be allowed to take your OWLs/NEWTs during an extended period based on when everyone is freed from prison and success of your OWLs/NEWTs will determine if you pass or not, again, this is up to the writer whether your character passes or fails the OWLs/NEWTs.
IF YOU DID NOT MAKE 3 CLASS POSTS OR DO AN INTERNSHIP THREAD YOU WILL STILL FAIL THIS TERM REGARDLESS.
DORMS - Additional dorm spaces will open up for next term. These will be for members who opt to have their student fail this term. An example: Currently, there are five 4th year Gryffindor Boys. Their dorm is full. They all pass and move on to 5th Year. Sebastien is currently a 5th year Gryffindor, he fails the term due to being captured. When the new term begins there will be 6 boys in the 5th Year Dorms. An extra bed will open up for Sebastien. These extra beds are ONLY for students who fail the term and all new characters will still have to follow the guidelines and ensure there is a spot open for them when making a character. We will have some kind of indicator for dorms spots so you know if it's available or not. Something like:

Lucas
The R beside Seb will indicate that he is repeating the year.
ANNOUNCEMENTS - Going forward, I will be trialing putting the announcements into one thread and updating the thread instead of posting a new one every time there is an announcement for better organization and less clutter. At the end of each term, that term's announcement thread will be archived and a new one will be created.
