CHILDHOOD. | Tadhg was a mistake. A product of a one-night stand and a mother who refused to get rid of him it was a close call that he didn't end up in the adoption system. By a stroke of luck or misfortune, his mother's brother decided to take the infant in and raise him as his own. One would think growing up in a magical community would be great and they'd usually be right. Except Knockturn Alley was dirty, dark, and the view was obstructed by taller buildings that, really, only peered into equally awkwardly placed windows. As a child, he explored the dark alley when his Uncle was busy which was ill-advised at best. It certainly made him rather resilient to a lot of things.
Of course, that wasn't really all he got up to. His Uncle taught him to steal from an early age. Pick-pocketing, shoplifting, and even burglary since he was of small stature for many years. If he did well his Uncle was actually fairly easy to live with. Sure he got whatever the man had left over and his room was just barely bigger than a closet, but he was assured it could always be worse. Tadhg believed him. When things were bad the boy knew to make himself scarce, often wandering the alley or giving puppy dog eyes to strangers until one of them took pity on him and got him a treat.
This is how he met two very kind people in the summer he received his Hogwarts letter. His Uncle had been unlikely to help him with his school supplies as he assured the boy he had no money for 'extra things' like that. Worried he wouldn't be able to go to Hogwarts he had been pickpocketing in Diagon Alley in the hopes to steal enough before the school year when he picked the wrong pocket. This stroke of luck, however, landed him a sponsor through school with the prospect of work afterwards. That was better than what he was going to get so the child agreed without thinking to question it.

YEAR 01. | When he began school he was a shy and awkward kid, falling in line with whoever was the most confident person in his house and year. At least he tried to. He was a background kind of person. Doing the best he could in his classes to maintain his support outside of it.
YEAR 02. | The years passed without incident, able to weasel his way out of trouble with his puppy dog act, the 'nicest' Slytherin also happened to do whatever was asked of him by his more outgoing peers. Thus far he has shown promise in at least Potions and Herbology, less so on the leadership front as he works his way through his last year of school.
YEAR 03. | He took on Alchemy and tried his hand at Ancient Runes but had to drop it when he realised he couldn't understand it. His awkward years had not passed him by yet either, not really able to find his friend group and ending up isolating himself. Msotly out of the awkward and creepy things he tended to say accidentally.
YEAR 04. | This year things changed ever so slightly as his Knockturn brother started school. Having Dio there gave him at least one friend that was on his side. Despite being in different houses he spent as much time as he could with him, the other outgoing nature at lot easier to deal with than being ignored.
YEAR 05. | His OWL year started with a great deal of stress. Getting good grades would determine next years classes he could take as well as the help he was getting to maintain his class supplies. He had also shot up nearly a foot over the summer, making him all gangly and accident prone.
YEAR 06.
| This year he focused heavily on Potions, Alchemy, and other classes that would send him on his career path. Tadhg was exceptionally gifted at Potions and found a fair bit of clarity when brewing. With a bit of guidance from his Professors he would even decide that he was best to keep to a Potions career course.
YEAR 07.
| The beginning of his last year was filled with anxiety. Thoughts about failing his NEWTs on purpose to not graduate filled his mind throughout the year. It was exceptionally hard to make a choice as the year wore on.
