LEONARD CHANT
SEVENTEEN MAY 23TH 2003 STUDENT HOGWARTS/RAVENCLAW/SEVENTH MUGGLEBORN NORFOLK, ENGLAND | PERSONALITY: Leonard is a troubled youth from a difficult family background, his muggleborn heritage not being something he’s particularly proud of. In between his studies, Leonard holds a deep love for Quidditch and offend spends his time practicing his broom work between classes. He’s known to talk back and question his authority figures, especially his Head of House. Ultimately, Leonard’s priority is just to be liked. He can often be thoughtful, funny and quick-witted. With this soft interior, he wears a mask of the “bad boy” and flaunts his magical talents through the hallways of Hogwarts school, an establishment he’s eager to leave. He was placed in Ravenclaw due to his wit and attitude towards learning magical knowledge. Before attending Hogwarts, he continuously painted and thoroughly enjoyed exploring museums as a child, which he eventually carried over his artistic talent into his duelling technique. Upon entering a room, Leonard tends to examine the room and decipher the best way to defeat any opponent that could possibly arise. He’s almost obsessed with being the best at anything and everything, and constantly seeks validation from others. Despite everything, he often breaks down his guard, especially in moments of solitude. His insecurity seeps in at its worst when he doubts himself, particularly over his duelling abilities. ASPIRATION: Leonard’s dream is to become a world class Seeker and play for the Tutshill Tornados. With no validation or attention, he thrives on being praised, regardless of what he’s been praised for. CHILDHOOD. | Leonard was born to Steven and Emily Chant, in a plain old house, in a plain old suburban area in Norfolk, England. As a young boy, his father was often absent and abusive, harsh and cruel, and generally an awful father figure. His mother was just as bad, but tried her best to support Leonard where she could. He often used painting and crafts to express himself and his troubles. As he started to develop, it was apparent that Leonard had some magical potential as he used these gifts to torment other children his age. Despite the evidence, Leonard always found someway to charm his way out of trouble, a gift he later managed to perfect at Hogwarts. When his sister was born, he often often displayed small signs of magical talent, accidentally making household objects float from time to time. Even at his young age, Leonard thought these to be mere consequences, but his father always believed there was something deeply wrong with the boy. He often tormented and ridiculed his son, and made him sleep some nights in his treehouse with no supper. When Leonard eventually received his Hogwarts acceptance letter, he fled his family home with what little pocket money he had scraped together and scampered off to London to begin his exciting new journey. Before all this, he had made a promise to his sister, Kristine, that he would come back for her. He never did. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Upon arrival at Hogwarts, Leonard learned instantly that blood, wealth and magical potential was everything at this school. He often bragged and boasted about his skills, and usually had the talent to back up his claims. His thirst for knowledge earned him a place in Ravenclaw, and by his second year had already earned himself a reputation as an exceptional student. He had already earned himself a spot on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, which meant that his popularity around the school continued to grow. Students began to speculate about Leonard; the boy who rarely socialised with anyone, even the professors. Between juggling Quidditch and his studies, Leonard often struggled to balance his social life and his commitment to becoming a great student. By his fourth year, Leonard was floating on his broom by the Black Lake when an unfortunate incident left him crashing into the murky waters, nearly drowning. This event later stuck with him and left him with a deep fear of water, particularly the Black Lake. He vowed he would never return, even if that meant that meant excluding himself from social activities held near it. After the incident at the lake, Leonard spent a couple of days in the Hospital Wing with hypothermia, often visited by his classmates and doted over with Honeydukes sweets. With no time for friends or even a romantic interest, Leonard’s eyes and firmly fixated on winning the House Cup one last time. Now that Leonard has reached his final year, he hopes to secure the best grades possible once he graduates Hogwarts. |

The Lord of Ashemark’s eyebrows shot up. “Thank you - it’s.. been a difficult year, adjusting without my father. The fresh air will do me good.” As he spoke, Cedric’s mouth quivered into a small, sad smile. He could sense that there was a kindness to him; there weren't many in the Westerlands that had said the same to him. “Did.. you know him well? My father?” His eyes gauged him for the truth.
There were two tall men that followed Lord Marbrand, donned in fine chainmail. The flags were held high to represent the Marbrand sigil: a burning tree lingering with orange flames. Every horse that carried his men were of the finest stallions in Westeros-if you believed his stable master. The two horses blocked his view of Lord Osboryn, to which he wiggled his palm over to welcome him over.
Cedric had waited until Lord Raynald had welcomed the next arrival to sink into his cloak, before raking his hand through his wild dark curls. He winced as Lord Harrold caterwauled as he approached, being too loud even for his eardrums. Digging his boot into the mud, he swung on the spot and allowed himself a moment to grimace. He stepped away from the party and allowed himself to admire the scenery, gesturing to Lord Crakehall from a distance.
