I would agree if either of them had known the child was theirs for the full 16 years of his life. Santiago Oliva Castillo still doesn't know he has a kid. Aylen only found out a year ago when the kid was sick. I can amend her application to add that information, however I don't believe Santiago would need to amend/resubmit his as he doesn't know the kid is his so it would not affect his character's history at all.
Basically the history is that Aylen's parents didn't want the stigma of her being an unmarried mother so pulled her out of school and took her away to have the kid, then had all memory of the pregnancy and birth removed from her mind and Benji was raised as her younger brother. She found out a little over a year ago when Benji was ill and needed a kidney transplant. Aylen being a healer knew the reality was that the best opportunity for a match was a parent and since she was a match and not either of her parents, they came clean and told her. She's been trying to find a way to tell Santi since but has yet to tell him.
