TWENTY-THREE OCTOBER 15TH WIZENGAMOT CLERK SLYTHERIN GRADUATE PUREBLOOD LONDON
| PERSONALITY: Blake is ambitious. As an older brother, caring for his little sister came naturally. He used to be considerate and thoughtful... Blake was once fueled by the desire for adventure and curiosity... but now Blake is troubled by the unwavering desire to please his father above all else. This leads his determination to excel (or attempt to excel at his father's standard) in all areas of his life. Blake is resourceful and possesses a keen practical intellect.
ASPIRATION: Blake yearns for recognition by his father, and hopes to accomplish that through climbing the ladder at the Wizengamot, putting himself in a position of power and sway. Secretly, he'd always dreamed of a career as a professional quidditch player. He also harbors a love for dragonology or magizoology, but family pressures steered him towards a more conventional and expected path.
Blake holds on to the hope that one day he can attain a level of happiness he has not yet found...

FAMILY MEMBERS. | MOTHER: Seraphina Saffron (née Thompson) Barrister | The Wizengamot
FATHER: Octavius Saffron Diplomatic Ambassador | Department of International Magical Cooperation
SIBLING: Bellamy Saffron (younger sister) 6th Year Slytherin | Hogwarts Student |
CHILDHOOD. | Growing up in the fancy Stack Point House estate, he and his younger sister, Bellamy, spent their days exploring the vast grounds, discovering hidden nooks, and reveling in the magic that surrounded them. Where she favored the shoreline and ocean, he enjoyed the solace of the nearby forest and winding path that led through it.
However, as Blake approached school age, the dynamics within the Saffron family shifted. Octavius, his father, became increasingly stern and demanding. Blake, feeling the weight of it all, found himself caught between the desire to maintain his own spirit and the need to please his father. The tension of the pressure to conform shaped his childhood, driving him to become an overachiever in everything he did, and it did not come easily for him.
Blake wanted to remain the protective older brother. To see his sister's happy face when he returned home from school-- but she had it so easy. She could do no wrong in their father's eyes when it seemed like all Blake ever did was wrong. He hated it. But eventually he avoided being around his sister all together. Using her mishaps as ways to distract from himself for once. He grew selfish and jaded. She was the beautiful prized jewel of the Saffron family... and he was just a letdown.

SCHOOL YEARS. | Blake's first year at Hogwarts brought at first brought excitement but quickly only became a source of pressure and unhappiness at home. Sorted into Slytherin, he embraced his house, using it as a tool to navigate the intricate social dynamics of the wizarding world by making connections early. His academic pursuits became a focal point, as he sought to prove himself to his father.
Excelling in his studies never came easy to Blake. He was an average student, with average scores no matter how much he attempted to study. His father let him know time and time again how unacceptable his student performance was... Blake resorted to bullying, buying work off other students, recycling work as best he could, just so incredibly thankful that he was never caught.
Blake found solace and passion in Quidditch. Joining the Slytherin team allowed him to express himself through the thrill of flying, a hobby that brought him joy and a sense of identity. Despite his family's lack of interest in magical creatures, Blake secretly continued his exploration of this passion, forming bonds with creatures when he got the chance.
His reputation as an eager student, with extracurriculars, painted the picture of a dutiful son, yet a part of him longed for the freedom to pursue his true passions without judgment.

ADULTHOOD. | As an adult, Blake "chose" a path that mirrored his mother's career within the Wizengamot.
Becoming a clerk, he entered the world of magical law, hoping to climb the ranks and earn the approval he sought from his father.
Blake's work at the Wizengamot became a mix of duty and ambition, navigating his path with determination and focusing solely on himself.
However, beneath the facade, Blake harbored a yearning for a different life—one where he could pursue his love for Quidditch or magical creatures, professionally.
His mother's influence opened doors for him, yes. Doors his father would throw him through if he had ever refused to walk on his own-- so what was the point of fighting it?
His love life in adulthood is comprised of flirting, one-night stands and casual first dates here and there when he can even find the time. His father and mother have speculated arranging a marriage for him, but his mother did convince his father to allow him the chance to explore first and perhaps a worthy match might come if it organically.
His sister, he imagined, would definitely find herself facing an arraigned marriage one day... her marital connection would be more about expanding power and making good connections.
His love life? He had a little more wiggle room... for once in his life. Being a boy and keeping his last name meant his only real constrictions were to pick a wealthy, pureblood girl who would give him children of their own one day.
Blake was just grateful his parents hadn't taken over that area of his life, and weren't planning on interfering any time soon. He rather liked dating around too-- so something worked out in his favor. |

HERERP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
The halls of Stack Point House echoed with the warmth of the Yule season as Blake Saffron stepped through the main entrance, returning home from Hogwarts for winter break. The familiar scent of enchanted evergreen and the crackling of the fireplace greeted him, offering a momentary respite from the chill outside.
His mother, Seraphina greets him with a pleased kiss to the cheek and his sister scampers down the grand stairs in the front foyer thrilled to see him. He brushes off the cold snow from his jacket and pushes right past her. He intended destination the kitchen, but he doesn't make it that far.
His father calls out from his study, becogning him. Blake feels his heart drop, his throat runs dry and he clenches his fists in anticipation as he enters the room. "Yes, father?"
An immediate shift in atmosphere. Octavius Saffron, a tall figure with a stern expression. Seraphina, remained noticeably absent, leaving an air of tension that Blake could almost taste.
Octavius brandished a parchment in his hand – his History of Magic paper. The last assignment he'd had before break. "I expect better from you." He says coldly. "This is... mediocre at best. Are you mediacore?"
Blake's fists tighten, feeling the weight of his father's disapproval settle on his shoulders. "Father, It's just one paper—" Oops. Wrong tactic.
"Just one paper! Just one paper can jeopardize everything we've worked for," Octavius interrupted, standing abruptly his tone growing louder. "You cannot afford to be careless. Not now, not ever. Understood?" He slams the paper on his desk, glaring.
A sigh nearly escapes Blake as he clenched his jaw. That would have been bad. Before he could respond, Bellamy enters the room, a glimpse of excitement fading from her face as she senses the tension.
"What's going on?" she inquired cautiously.
Octavius redirected his disapproval toward Blake's younger sister. "Your brother has managed to disgrace us with a poor mark in History of Magic, just in time for the holidays."
Bellamy, ever the little diplomat, tries to defuse the situation. "Father, it's just one paper. Blake is—"
Octavius wasn't generally ever in the mood for diplomacy. "This is about the Saffron name and the responsibility each of you bears. Blake, your carelessness in particular reflects poorly on the entire family." He snarls. But his gaze falls on Bellamy once more and he physically softens. "My sweet darling girl. How benevolent of you to defend your brother."
Octavious rises, ruffling Bellamy's hair as he passes her. As he passes Blake however his steely voice returns, "In honor of the holidays, this is the last we will speak of this. However, I expect you will not make me repeat myself." The threat was subtle, but Blake felt it.
The heated exchange fizzles before it escalates into a full-blown chaos, as it sometimes did. His father must have been in a good mood because this was tame for him.
Blake, frustrated, couldn't help but redirect his own frustrations toward his sister, a spark of resentment igniting between them. "You just had to butt in, didn't you? Perfect little Bellamy." Blake remarks. She looks at him with wide, sad eyes. Speechless.
"Just leave me alone." He adds, turning on his heel and stalking away into the kitchen. Leaving Bellamy standing in the cold study alone.
