CHILDHOOD.	Leander was born without a name and given up for adoption immediately as his parents were just teenagers when he was born. They weren't ready for a child, and likely never would be given their lifestyle choices and beliefs. Leander was adopted by a wealthy farming family and did grow up knowing about the magical world. His mother was a Squib who married a muggle. They have no idea who his parents are but were immediately charmed by the infant when they met him. He didn't have many friends in Castle Combe, and he preferred it that way as he was a bit anti-social - though people were always drawn to him for whatever reason he couldn't understand. His attitude, and odd habits, as well as his troublesome side, tended to push people away, or into the lake. Leander did have one significant incident which assured his adopted parents that he was going to be magical. He was arguing with another boy at school when his temper got the better of him and he went to punch the kid. That's when he noticed that instead of fingernails, small talons were growing out of his hands. His parents knew immediately that Leander was not normal. Leander was brought to St. Mungo's were some extensive magical testing was done to prove that yes, he had magical blood in him, and it didn't take a test to recognize some of the traditional traits of Veea heritage.

Leander had been home long enough that if his sister didn't crawl her cute Haven butt out of whatever rock she was hiding under to see him, he was going to drag her out. Which was exactly what he'd written in the text he'd sent asking her to meet him. After all, what good was a sister if he never saw her when he returned home? Lee loved his sister. Unlike some families and siblings, Leander actually got along with his, for the most part.

"Coffee with milk and a club sandwich on whole wheat," Leander ordered while he waited for Athena to arrive. Lunch seemed like the best time to get her. For some reason, during the evening she was busy and during the day they both had to work so he'd purposely used a lunch date as an excuse. They both needed to eat, right? And they were entitled to a lunch break - which also meant if she took his news poorly he could use the return to work excuse to high tail it out of there. He didn't think Athena would take his news poorly.

"Thank you," Leander took his coffee to the first open table and waited for his sandwich and his sister to arrive.
