Some have accused her of being a motormouth, but there's so much to love and appreciate in the world! It would be a shame not to! In her eyes, when she's doing what she loves, she's a champion even when she's losing. This does lead her to be a bit headstrong and overconfident at times. ASPIRATION: GONNA WIN THE QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP, BABY!! NO STOPPING THE TOA KAPURA (champion of fire)! GONNA BURN THE COMPETITION! YEA-YEAH! But really, really, she'll settle for rejoining the World Cup League (yes, even for England). She would someday like to return to her beloved Moutohora Macaws, whether playing or coaching. CHILDHOOD. | - Born as Ahika Makutu in Auckland, NZ to Temuera and Kiri Makutu. - Parents were taking time away from their lucrative jobs as crew members for the cargo vessels of the Prince Shipping Company to raise their children. Ahika was the middle child of 3. - grew up in a nice Penthouse apartment high above the city. - Multilingual Parents made sure Ahika and their siblings learned multiple languages from a very young age, including English, Maori, French, Japanese, and Hindi. - Their pre-school learning also included the basics of Maori and Wizarding culture. - Ahika began attending a private school in NZ starting at age 5. - Frequently attended Maori cultural events with family. - Also frequently attended Quidditch games with family, Oceania league games and world cup games alike. Ahika was a lot more into Quidditch than their siblings. - Around 7 years old, their parents noticed a trend in Ahika's play and pretending, almost always taking typically-feminine roles and showing a preference for dolls as well as action figures of female characters. - Around 8 years old, their parents noticed Ahika was having more troubles relating to most boys their age, but seemed more comfortable around girls. Ahika began to show signs of frequent distraction, irritability, and frequent bouts of sadness. - They tried to work through it, but by age 10, they took Ahika to a psychologist. After some time, the indications came back as gender dysphoria and after careful consideration, discussion, and outlining, a treatment plan was put into place to be completed over the following years leading up to a decision around when puberty would begin. - Ahika's parents took a little time to process, but came to understand that their middle child may transition in their future and were completely supportive moving forward. - In preparation for Ahika to go attend one of the magic schools, their parents offered the opportunity to attend any one Ahika chose according to the languages they could speak. Ahika chose Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | - The Palace of Beauxbatons, nestled in the Pyrenees mountains, was a natural fit for Ahika. - Took to their studies well and attended every quidditch game held at the school, never growing tired of the view of the pitch and hoping they'd be able to try out for the team at some point. - In spite of having to get over the distance and time away from their family, they did decently well in their studies and didn't get into much trouble. - The first year away from their family was very important for them personally. They came to their own conclusion to pursue transitioning and live as a girl going forward. - After her first year was done, she brought this news back home with them to her parents and was welcomed as their daughter. - At her request, she wanted her parents pick a new name for her. They chose Anika for splendor and grace in handling this life challenge. - Returned to school with a new uniform, a new plan, and a new excitement for life to come. - During her second year, Anika tried out for the Beauxbatons Quidditch Team. She made it onto the team reserve that year and the team proper as a Chaser during her third year. As it would turn out for her, getting to play quidditch instead of just watching it was everything she ever dreamed of and more. - Anika successfully held on that position during her time attending the school. - Over the following years, Anika maintained respectable grades, kept to her medications, and grew into a free-spirited, fun-loving, good-humored, quick-witted, and fast-talking young woman. - She did run into some trouble in her final two years at Beauxbatons, getting a little caught up in the party scene, but managed to correct course and not ruin her future prospects by the time graduation came around. |
ADULTHOOD. | - Graduated already knowing what she wanted to do, even at the cost of delaying certain elective adjustments she hoped to make. - Opportunity knocked quickly after graduation with a spot available on the team for which she most wanted to play. - New Zealand's own Moutohora Macaws signed her on for a few years as a rookie player. - Played with the Macaws for five years, before she couldn't push back a number of elective surgeries she had been wanting to undergo since she was a teenager. - At the end of her then-current contract, she stepped away from the glory of sport for a season to address the lingering physical aspects she wanted to have changed. - Multiple procedures, consistent training as she could, and spending an extended amount of time with her family and now-retired parents, Anika kept busy. - Returning to the Moutohora Macaws wasn't as simple as she had hoped, her old spot being taken by another rising star. - Hope would come in the form of her dad leveraging an old connection or two to get her a chance at trying out for a pro team in the England-Ireland League called the Falmouth Falcons. She proved her mettle to the new team and signed on as a Falcon, moving to the UK for a new adventure in life. |

Active practice was always hit or miss. Either she'd get someone that could get her blood pumping or it would end with her giving pointers so the professor didn't have to. She already got plenty of practice at dueling club and in her own time, so really, the best she could hope for was not getting called to participate during these classes.
Marcia heard the name of some Ravenclaw get called and began to sit back as they walked up to the platform. Just as she had begun to take a breath of relaxation, the worst case scenario happened.
"Jaeger!" the professor called. Marcia immediately tensed and stood up with an annoyed sigh. She wouldn't fight or argue the summons, but that didn't mean she'd enjoy it. Marcia shrugged off her cloak and loosened her tie as she ascended the steps. Only once she was on the platform, did she flick her flesh arm outward, bringing her wand out of her sleeve holster and into her waiting hand. Approaching her opponent, she smoothly brought the ever-reliable elm wand in front of her face and bowed respectfully. The theatrics and formalities were well-practiced, of course, but like hell any of it would matter in a real fight.
On her way back to her side of the platform, Marcia decided not to attack first. If she must waste time performing, why end it quickly? She spun around, curious what she'd have to react to, but she could only raise an eyebrow. This was textbook... first year textbook. Marcia immediately dropped her wand, letting it clatter on the platform beneath her before the second spell harmlessly tingled across her empty hand.
After her wand, Marcia ducked down, quickly scooping up her wand and responding with a pair of straight flicking motions, calling out, "Stupefy!" and then "Stupefy!" again in quick succession... if only to buy herself time to think. This is Sixth Year... What is the Ravenclaw playing at?
