HOUSE/YEAR | 6th year Slytherin |

PERSONALITY: When Emerson was younger, she wanted to be a carbon copy of her older sister, hoping that would gain her some recognition in her family. Whatever Elspeth wanted, Emerson wanted twice as badly. She was empathetic towards everyone, kind and gentle. However if you messed with her or someone she cared about, she would sharpen her claws and make certain you learned never to cross her path again. The problem was that being this way was that it never got her the recognition she expected like it did for Elsie. It made her feel unworthy and insecure about being herself, so Emerson did what anyone would do and began to act out. Nowadays, that empathetic girl is buried deep under the walls she built to make her stronger. Someone that once believed in a fairytale ending was making sure that no one remembered that part of her history. Emerson is blunt and straightforward, she doesn’t hesitate to tell someone the truth even if it hurts. She takes the time to get to know someone just to figure out their weaknesses and perhaps even hold it over their head. Yes, now, she had caught her parents’ attention for being the “bad girl” but it didn’t matter to her. If that’s what they wanted her to be, then she would continue to prove them right. Emerson’s innocent appearance wouldn’t give away her devious nature at first glance. Obviously, she was subtle about how she went against people, it wasn’t like she’d attack in broad daylight, in a crowd of people. She bided her time for the right moment when things were going downhill for the other person and just strike them down harder. Her venomous behavior gave her words a harsh bite. No, she was not that once innocent, sweet person anymore and whoever dared to tell her otherwise should be warned, it wouldn’t go well for them. She’s clearly independent and believes that love of any kind is a weakness that needs to be squashed before it becomes uncontrollable. ASPIRATION: Emerson has only ever wanted the recognition her parents give to her older sister, but since they won’t give it to her when she’s being herself, Emerson is just going to have to find a different way to get it. Otherwise she wants to go find work with anything that consists of animal care, maybe help sheltered animals find new homes. Animals are much better to hang out with than people in her opinion, and it would give her some peace of mind to do something she’s more passionate about. Maybe try going for magizoologist if working at the animal shelter doesn’t fit her personality? | Please ONLY list your likes and dislikes. An explanation is NOT required. LIKES: - Outdoors - Animals and magical creatures - Proving to people that she’s independent and doesn’t need anyone - Solitude - Fighting DISLIKES: - Her parents - People that make her feel inferior - Fairytales - Showing emotions - Loud people |

CHILDHOOD. | Emerson was the second born daughter to Eloise Prince and Lorcan Quinn, and while they cared for her, they would often shower Elspeth with more attention. Even as a little girl, she could see that she wasn’t the favorite child in the family. She even tried to shadow her older sister’s way of behaving thinking that she would garner her parents’ attention like that, but that didn’t work either. For years she tried it, and it wasn’t giving her the effects she wanted. Emerson liked to be with her sister, she thought that Elsie was one person that truly understood her and helped her feel a little more like she was part of the family. The younger girl had no idea what she should do to get the same attention her parents gave to her sister. Emerson was doing everything she thought was necessary for her to be acknowledged, at one point, she decided to give up. The bitterness inside of her welled up day by day, but she didn’t do anything about for a while. Slowly, the girl began to change her attitude towards people, she began being colder around her family. Often pushing Elspeth away not needing another reason to get upset, the blonde girl just started to find her own way of rebelling in little ways. Starting with small steps to a darker side of herself, and her family was the first ones to see that fall into the darkness. By the time her older sister had gone off to Hogwarts, Emerson thought things would change around the house for her, but she was wrong. Her parents continued to worry about the girl that wasn’t even at home anymore more than the one that was still around. She walked around the house and it almost felt like a ghost town. When she finally got her acceptance letter to Hogwarts, Emerson had already perfected the way she wanted to talk to people. Choosing to accept her invitation and continue to grow her new way of thinking overtime. Being in a whole new environment would be helpful for her to perfect her behavior with time. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Just like her older sister, Emerson was sorted into Slytherin, but instead of sitting with her sister like most people would, the blonde girl pretended like the other Prince didn’t exist. Most of the time, Emerson didn’t want to be associated with her sister. If she was going to look for her, the blonde girl wasn’t going to find her sister outside in public. It would be something that she would do out of sight. Maybe in the Room of Requirement or an empty room that there was no one around to see them? The resemblance between the two girls was enough for her. She didn’t need other students to ask about their relationship together. That’s how she was throughout her time in the school, generally focused on studying and doing well in school because she cared about her education. She just didn’t care about her personal relations with anyone. Emerson didn’t make friends. She didn’t want people getting close to her, she didn’t want to be anything like that perfect, golden child that was always surrounded by friends and family. It didn’t matter to her. At least, that’s what she kept telling herself each time she pushed another student that wanted to be her friend in the opposite direction. School came first and foremost. Everything else, she really had no preference for except her physical health being above average. She learned how to take care of herself, relying only on her own merits to do things. She didn’t need others to help her. By her sixth year, Emerson really had lost herself beneath all the walls she’d built around her heart. Sometimes there was a small glimmer of who she had been before the bitterness set in when she was in Care of Magical Creatures, caring for the animals. Other than that, the blonde witch did not show the least bit of emotion towards other people unless it was a facade of happiness. Casually “befriending” someone to learn what that person’s weaknesses were before she ripped them apart. There was no doubt that whoever thought they’d be able to break that wall she’d built around her heart would have a struggle of their lifetime. |

RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
For whatever reason Elizabeth was forced to go to this ridiculous ball, maybe a year ago she would’ve actually enjoyed such a party, but in this situation it wasn’t the most entertaining. The blonde hadn’t even tried to dress up to impress this time, her red dress was plain. If it wasn’t for the boldness of the color, she doubted anyone would notice her walking into the Great Hall. Maybe she was wrong and just believed she could walk through the school without being noticed, but she could make it so she wasn’t recognizable if she wanted to, but what was the purpose of that now? She thought the reason she had been left behind had been to do something for her father, but he didn’t send her a letter or anything. It must’ve been a punishment or something so she wouldn’t be home for the holidays or maybe her mother had interfered again?
Whatever the reason was for her staying at the school, Elizabeth was deeply grateful for the break from everything she had to do at home. While it still felt like both a blessing and curse to be stuck at the school for the holidays, she shouldn’t be stuck on that when there was a party going on. The blonde had stopped by the drink table to grab a glass of punch before walking off to the side of the room. Dancing. That’s what these parties were all about and Lizzie was not someone that would get up and dancing in front of a crowd. What a ridiculous idea? She shouldn’t have even thought about coming to the ball. There was no point.
As the blonde turned to leave, her eyes landed on someone she didn’t recall from any previous years. He was far too old to be a first year, so her guess was that he was a transfer student. Elizabeth glanced at his outfit. He was different from all the stuffy pureblood students at the school, that was a given from the way he dressed to this formal event. Lizzie looked away and moved to walk past him. New kid or not, she wasn’t in the mood to entertain these festivities anymore. She might as well go back to her dorm room and settle in for the night.
