11 JUNE 7, 2009 STUDENT GRYFFINDOR / 1ST YEAR MUGGLEBORN DUNFERMLINE, SCOTLAND
| PERSONALITY: Noah runs on pure instinct. He is impulsive, careless, and incapable of staying quiet when he sees something he doesn't like. He goes where his feet take him. If that place is detention, he doesn't think it's his fault. He prefers to be outdoors and is uncomfortable when stuck inside for too long.
ASPIRATION: Noah isn't one for thinking about the future. He's only 11. He thinks plans are for old boring people and Ravenclaws. When the day comes and he's forced to have a job, he wants it to be fun - playing professional quidditch, chasing magical creatures through the forest, or capturing bad guys. He might not have a future set in stone, but he knows he will have fun on the way. | LIKES: - Flying - Fizzing Whizzbees - Potions - Being Outdoors - Dogs
DISLIKES: - History of Magic - Homework - Detention - Bullies - Old Book Smell |
FAMILY MEMBERS. | Annabelle Coalter-Beaton (Mother – Deceased) Alexander Beaton (Father – Deceased) Olivia Beaton (Older Sister – Deceased) Hestia Burke (legal guardian, 32, Hufflepuff, Orphanage Director) |
CHILDHOOD. | The first 5 years of his life were spent happily with his family in the muggle world. He grew up in Dalmeny Scotland with his parents and older sister. He doesn’t remember a lot from this time, but he remembers they had a garden and their house always smelled like bread. He has a toy dragon from this time, and has it stuffed in his truck at Hogwarts alongside the toy lion Hestia gave him when he first came to the orphanage.
He was in an accident with his family. They were headed to the Edinburgh Zoo when his father lost control of their car and crashed. Noah was the only survivor. In the days following the accident, he showed his first signs of magic. Without any living family, the ministry intervened and he was sent to live at an orphanage for magical children on the outskirts of Dunfermline. The orphanage was run by a former Hufflepuff named Hestia Burke. Noah latched onto her, following her everywhere. She taught him to read, and encouraged him to be adventurous.
Though he lived in an orphanage, he grew up loved and learned about both the muggle world and the magical one he was now a part of. From the age of 5 until his Hogwarts years, he was able to live like any other kid. He got to climb trees, learn about animals, and even go camping once a month. Hestia became his family and he would do anything to stay with her.
In the days leading up to his first year of Hogwarts, he made excuses to help out around the orphanage so he could be with her as much as possible.

SCHOOL YEARS. | Noah has just started his first year at Hogwarts and he has big plans. Plans that involve exploring every single room and alcove he can find. Unfortunately for him, he has a terrible sense of direction, not it would stop him. It’s almost expected that he will be late for class because he of a wrong turn or a trip down the wrong staircase. Hogwarts needs a map for first years. It’s not fair that they have to figure out where they’re going in a castle that seems to change on its own. Noah is convinced Hogwarts is alive and wants him late for all his classes.
The excitement of the first month distracted him from the fact that Hogwarts, for all of its magic and giant size is still just a fancy school. There is homework and assigned readings, and history of magic is one big snoozefest. He thought learning to use his new wand would be fun. Learning spells is fun, writing about them is not. Taking notes in Transfiguration hurts his brain. Half of the words look made up, and the other half don’t make sense. Thank Merlin they aren’t grading on their spelling. Dictation would have hurt his pride.
He’s decided he needs to find a tracing spell, because learning magic hasn’t stopped him from misplacing his belongings. He’s lost 2 textbooks, 5 quills and his Remembrall, and it’s only December. He doesn’t think he lost them on his own and thinks there might be a Hogwarts owl out there hoarding quills.

Special Situations
Noah lost his entire family at a young age. He might not have many memories of them, but their loss made him overprotective of the people he cares about. He thinks of Hestia as his mother and often tells her he would do anything to protect her. He puts the safety of others before his own and would risk anything if it meant saving his friends.
RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
She was watching him again. Noah could feel it. He turned in the direction he’d last seen her and made eye contact before grinning. He gave her an exaggerated wink, wondering how long it would take before she started after him. She was far too polite to run off in the middle of a conversation and too responsible to let him out of her sight.
Hestia for all of her rules, was his favourite person. He knew she was responsible for other kids too, but he liked to think he had a special place in her heart. They’d been together the longest. She was his. His what, he didn’t know. Sometimes when she frowned at him for doing something fun or smiled at him when he did well, he could pretend she was his mom. She was special to him, and deep down he liked to think he was special to her too.
Why else would she have brought him with her? It wasn’t because he was smart, though she called him clever. He wasn’t the top student at the orphanage. He wasn’t good with adults, and he got into trouble when he was bored. Unless she’d brought him to keep an eye on him, a fair assumption, he thought it was because she liked him the best.
Picking up a fancy cracker, he gave her a little wave and backed into the crowd. There were other kids at the party, and he planned on finding them before he got dragged into Hestia’s boring conversation. The grandpa she was with didn’t look fun, and he wasn’t sticking around to see if he was right.
