GINEVRA POTTER (née weasley)
39 AUGUST 11, 1981 SPORTS EDITOR FOR THE DAILY PROPHET GRYFFINDOR PUREBLOOD DEVON, ENGLAND | PERSONALITY: Ginny Potter is a force of nature—independent, strong-willed, and full of energy. She’s confident in who she is and doesn’t need validation from others. Her quick wit and sharp humor make her a natural at lightening the mood, and growing up with six older brothers has given her a tough skin. Ginny is not easily intimidated, and her courage shines through in her ability to stand up for herself and fiercely protect those she loves. At her core, she’s openhearted and unwaveringly loyal. Her relationships are the most important thing to her, and she thrives when surrounded by the people she cares about. As she’s matured, Ginny has embraced a more carefree attitude, realizing that life is too short to sweat the small stuff. However, Ginny isn’t without her flaws. She inherited her mother’s fiery temper, and the traumas of the war have left her with a simmering anger. She’s easily provoked and quick to defend herself or her family against any perceived slight. While that edge has softened somewhat since becoming a mother, she remains stubborn, rarely backing down once she’s made up her mind. She’s disorganised, a trait which was manageable before, but has only worsened with the chaos of raising kids. ASPIRATION: Ginny views herself as a skilled witch in her own right. While she enjoys her job at the Daily Prophet, she aspires to something bigger, dreaming of one day becoming the coach or even the owner of the Holyhead Harpies. A smaller ambition is to teach Field Flying at Hogwarts, especially now that all her children are enrolled. Beyond her career goals, Ginny hopes to establish a charitable organization to provide broomsticks, Quidditch gear, and flying lessons for underprivileged children. And, of course, see that her children are happy.  | LIKES: - Quidditch & Flying - Creatures (particularly pygmy puffs & cats) - Journalism; storytelling in any form - Wizard’s Chess - Quick-witted humour & pranks - Defensive Charms DISLIKES: - Being controlled or overprotected - Elitism in any form (blood purists, bullies) - Superficial interactions  - Muted pastel colours - Silence |

CHILDHOOD. | Born on August 11th at the height of the First Wizarding War, Ginevra Molly Weasley was the youngest and only girl. She was raised in the Burrow, a cozy yet chaotic home, and was surrounded by the noise and energy of her six older brothers. Though the environment was challenging, Ginny was resilient from an early age, constantly fighting to keep up with the boys, both physically and emotionally. Even as a child, Ginny was determined not to be overshadowed by her brothers. She quickly developed a strong sense of independence and could give back as good as she got. She learned early on how to defend herself from pranks, especially from Fred and George, and how to hold her own in a family that loved teasing. But it wasn’t all rough-and-tumble; her family was incredibly close-knit, and her parents, Molly and Arthur Weasley, provided a loving upbringing. Despite being the youngest, Ginny was never coddled. Molly may have worried about her, but she also encouraged Ginny’s strength and independence. Her early years were marked by financial struggles. Money was tight, and Ginny often had to make do with secondhand clothes, school supplies, and other hand-me-downs from her brothers. Despite their poor financial status, their family was rich in love. She never allowed the family’s lack of wealth define her; instead she embraced it. Ginny grew to be fascinated with magic quickly, eagerly watching each of her brothers as they went off to Hogwarts. Her magical abilities began to show early and although she was not allowed a wand until Hogwarts, she found other ways to involve herself. With most of her brothers being avid Quidditch players, Ginny developed a strong interest in the sport, though they rarely let her join in. Undeterred, six-year-old Ginny began sneaking into the family’s broom shed, secretly taking out their brooms one by one to practice on her own. This would become a core memory for her throughout Hogwarts and would shape her adulthood. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | FIRST YEAR: Ginny was shy and nervous, especially due to her crush on Harry Potter, which developed after their first meeting. Like her brothers, she was sorted into Gryffindor. She discovered Tom Riddle’s diary, a Horcrux, among her possession. It possessed her and compelled her to open the Chamber of freeing a basilisk within the school. She was rescued by Harry and Ron after nearly losing her life in the Chamber. SECOND YEAR: After her terrifying first year, Ginny began to settle into Hogwarts. On the Hogwarts Express, she shared a compartment with Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Professor Lupin when Dementors boarded the train, which intensely affected her due to her past with Tom Riddle's diary. The rest of the year was slow, but she developed stronger friendships with other Gryffindors, including the Golden Trio. THIRD YEAR: Returning to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament, Ginny supported Harry, the fourth champion, and retained a strong friendship with Hermione. She accompanied Neville Longbottom to the Yule Ball, despite her lingering feelings for Harry. Eventually, she began dating Michael Corner by the year’s end. FOURTH YEAR: With Voldemort's return, Ginny participated in Dumbledore’s Army, helping recruit students and fighting back against Umbridge’s unjust regime. After her father was attacked by Nagini, she spent Christmas with him, her family, Harry, and Order members at Grimmauld Place. Ginny also battled Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries and played Seeker for Gryffindor. She began dating Dean Thomas after breaking up with Michael Corner. FIFTH YEAR: Ginny joined the Gryffindor team as a Chaser, fulfilling her dream and helping them win the Quidditch Cup. After her relationship with Dean Thomas ended, she shared a kiss with Harry, and they began dating. During the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, she fought Amycus Carrow uninjured, thanks to a Felix Felicis potion. Afterward, Harry revealed that Snape had killed Dumbledore. Despite the tragedy, she prepared for her O.W.L.s. Harry broke up with her at the end of the year to protect her from Voldemort. SIXTH YEAR: As Harry's seventeenth birthday approached, the Order of the Phoenix planned to move him from the Dursleys to the Burrow. Gwaited behind with her mother for news. When Harry finally arrived, they shared a comforting moment, holding hands, but the mood dimmed after George was wounded in the battle. Despite their breakup, Ginny still had feelings for Harry, kissing him on his birthday. At Hogwarts, she brought back Dumbledore’s Army with Neville and Luna. When Harry returned for the final battle, she was relieved but was initially forbidden to figheventually joined the battle, fighting courageously alongside her mother against Bellatrix, and she mourned Fred’s death while helping the wounded. SEVENTH YEAR: Following the Second Wizarding War, Ginny returned to Hogwarts for her seventh year and NEWT exam preparations. During the year, she rekindled her romance with Harry while devoting herself to her studies, unable to play Quidditch due to the destruction of the school. |
ADULTHOOD. | Ginny was scouted by the Holyhead Harpies as a Chaser soon after graduation. As an outstandin Quidditch player, she excelled, benefitting the Harpies enormously. Harry proposed, and the couple married in a ceremony surrounded by their families and friends, with Ginny proudly taking his surname. She played as a Chaser for the Holyhead Harpies until her first pregnancy prompted her to retire and concentrate on her family. She welcomed their first son, James, followed by Albus, and then their only daughter, Lily. Much like her mother, Ginny is wholly devoted to her children; they mean everything to her. Committed to providing her children with a better life than she and their father had known, both financially and emotionally, Ginny worked tirelessly to create a beautiful home in Devon. Always ensuring they had everything they needed and wanted wherever feasible. Ginny took a position at The Daily Prophet as a Quidditch correspondent—a role she adored, as it enabled her to stay connected to her passion for Quidditch. Her children were growing up quickly and she did not, and still does not to this day, enjoy being stagnant. When all her children began attending Hogwarts, she eagerly accepted a promotion to Editor. Nowadays, Ginny devotes as much time as possible to supporting Harry in his career as an Auror and nurturing their children as they navigate their own lives at Hogwarts. Despite her fulfilling career, she finds herself craving change. Much like her husband, Ginny dreams of making a meaningful change in the world, no matter how big or small that impact may be. |

RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
Elspeth had always been attuned to the emotions of other people, not because she was an empath or anything of the sort, but through an attentive eye. She had a way of reading the smallest shifts in body language, the tremble of a voice, the tension in a gaze. Today, she fought to smooth out her own anxiety, trying to shake it off like drops of water, hoping to ease the tightness in her chest and make Misha feel more at ease.
A bright smile bloomed on her lips, warm and effortless, as she tilted her head slightly, studying Misha with quiet curiosity. “Elsie,” she confirmed with a soft chuckle, her eyes crinkling at the corners. “Elspeth sounds too formal, don’t you think?”
Her fingers twitched at her sides, betraying a restless energy she couldn’t quite control. Her breathing hitched in her throat while she swallowed down the anxiety. Elspeth cast her green eyes over the sun lit lawns, as though seeking unspoken reassurance from the open space. Lifting her hand in an inviting sweep, she nodded toward the path ahead. “Shall we walk?” She needed to move — she needed to do something to take her mind off the situation at hand.
Before Misha could answer, Elspeth began moving at a leisurely pace, her hands clasped behind her back. The slow, rhythmic steps helped soothe her nerves, though she could still feel a flutter of butterflies and unease beneath her poised exterior. She was not good at this part; the casual flirting did not come naturally to her. She had questions, many of them, but was unsure where to start.
“You have an accent,” she remarked, her voice casual but curious. That seemed like a good place to begin. She hesitated for a beat, not wanting to seem like an airhead. “Russian, right? Where in Russia are you from?”
