Brooklyn was dressed as a classic vampire with a modern twist: a sleek, black velvet cape with a deep blue satin inside, a corseted top, and tailored trousers that allowed her to move easily. She stopped at the entrance to the ballroom, looking in for a moment. It was filled with floating jack-o'-lanterns and dancing ghosts. Typical Halloween ball. She walked in and headed to get a drink and see who else was about. She wasn't too fussed about a date. She was more interested in getting to know other people and having some fun. She felt she was too young still to be thinking about fully dating anyone.

Kieran wasn't sure if he wanted to join the ball but what else was he supposed to do? Mope around in the halls all evening, or sit in the dorm? The Gryffindor was not the one to sit around and study all night, it was not the muggleborns' style. So, the metamorph had attempted to play around with his looks but it took him quite a bit of trouble.

He'd shown up as a silver-haired prince, dressed in all-white and like a radiant beam of light. He didn't really know where to go upon entering the ballroom, looking around to see the attendees. Kieran decided to make his way towards the table with drinks, observing the options present. It didn't take him long to bump into someone by accident, finding the younger Ravenclaw girl whom he had classes with of course.

"Oh, hey Brooklyn! How are you doing?" He asked, thinking he should probably apologize as well. "Sorry for bumping into you." Kieran didn't mean to, of course.

She was sure that everyone else was growing around her as she was now seeming to be looking up at other people. "No harm done. I’ve been through worse in crowded hallways," She said with a small smile on her face and not holding in a slight laugh she gave as she looked to Kieran. She was sure that he was in the year above her, but she could never remember everyone in the same year as her. "What brings you to the ball?" Brooklyn asked, wondering what brings someone to these events. She often wondered why some people would have a date, and some don't. For her, especially right now, dating was not on the cards. She was really here just to have some fun.

Kieran understood what she meant, also being a victim to crowded hallways. It's not like they could do anything about it, especially being shorter than the upper years. The metamorphmagus smiled at her though, glad to see that she wasn't hurt or anything. Not that he'd bumped into her that roughly but people could be frail!

"What doesn't bring me to the ball?" Kieran began, giving a light chuckle. "I don't think sitting in the common room all evening while there's a party out here is much better." And he didn't care about studies that much to forego a party. "My time is better spent here, with everyone else." He smiled at the Ravenclaw, knowing they had some classes together. "And yourself? Why are you here then?"

Brooklyn looked at Kieran slightly, looking up at him, her dark hair slightly falling on her face. "You know, Kieran, I wouldn't have pegged you as the social butterfly type, but hey, I guess even Gryffindors can surprise me," Brooklyn said, but also slightly laughing at this point as she casually surveyed the bustling ballroom. "Why am I here? Let's just say the library gets a bit dull, even for a Ravenclaw. Besides, watching everyone in their costumes is more entertaining than anything else I’d be doing." She looked at him with a small, sly grin on her face. "Maybe I was curious to see who actually put effort into their costumes. Safe to say, you’ve raised the bar, Prince Charming." Wondering how he would react to this.
