Seventeen April 7th Student Ravenclaw 6th Year Half-Blood Hogwarts | PERSONALITY: Elaine is a stargazing, birth chart reading, intuition crazed sixteen year old with a love of winning, being right, and inflating her ego. In true Aries fashion, Elaine can be hot tempered and a bit self absorbed, however she is passionate about those she loves and will fight for them in any situation. Extroverted, but intellectual, Elaine loves get togethers and parties, but cannot stand small talk. She craves intelligent and meaningful conversation and will often times wander off from boring or lack-luster conversation. Elaine has been known to get herself a few detentions over her years at Hogwarts from her resistance to authority, hating to be told what to do. ASPIRATION: Elaine has her life planned out. CHILDHOOD. | With a modest upbringing, Elaine was raised by two stable individuals who were practically the poster of what a healthy relationship looked like. She and her two older brothers were healthy, happy, loved and well cared for. While they were not rich, they had a comfortable life in Lancaster, England. Tilda, their mother, was a muggle who met their father, Cornelius, by sheer happenstance. A clumsy man, he stumbled on top of her during a failed landing from his broomstick, knocking them both to the ground. It was true love for the two ever since. Their three children all showed magical affinities at early ages, with Elaine being the late bloomer not showing hers until age 7. Out of all her siblings, Elaine is the troublemaker, always getting into something or trying to talk her way out of something. Nevertheless, she was the star of the family being the youngest and only girl of the family. While her father was magical, they lived more of a muggle lifestyle. Their parents believed that since they were to go to Hogwarts and learn magic regardless, they should get the best of both worlds and experience muggle life as well in their formative years. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | When Elaine started her first year, she was excited but very apprehensive. Having been primarily raised in a muggle environment, attending muggle school, and being surrounded by non magical people, the idea of completely turning that upside down was intimidating. While her older siblings had all done well and thrived at Hogwarts learning their magical skills, Elaine in the beginning did not. Having her routine turned upside down was a whirlwind for her, and she felt almost scared when trying to use her magic. Her first and second year were both spent very cautiously, rarely making friends because she was afraid of the prejudices against Half-bloods and muggleborns. Thankfully, her older brothers were always willing to hang out with her outside of class and help her to feel a little more secure in her new environment. In her third year, however, Elaine discovered Astronomy. True Astronomy. She'd always had a love for the stars and wanted to study them, but in the muggle world it was nothing like what she had witnessed when she entered the tower at Hogwarts and saw the maps and moving systems right above her head so close she could touch them. The magical element added into something she was already so passionate about, finally sparked her to come out of her shell. She began talking to other students, branching away from her middle brothers side, and dove into her studies like crazy, now filled with enthusiasm to learn everything she could. In her fourth year, she found an intense hobby in Astrology and Divination. Loving the idea of using her intuition and inner eye to discern things about others and possibly even the future. A thought that was most appealing when she found her impeccable accuracy in reading tea leaves and tarot cards, as well as putting together detailed birth charts for her friends. It was also the year she decided that she hated everything and anything to do with Herbology. Dirt, mud, bugs...all things that she was not thrilled to deal with in her daily life. Fifth year was much the same as fourth, however, Elaine did deal with her first hearbreak. She fell hard for a boy in her class, and was left in shambles by the time Christmas had arrived when he decided she wasn't what he wanted and that her love for Divination was weird and nerdy. From that moment on she became a little harder around the edges, and decided that she wouldn't be hurt by anyone like that again. Young love stings hard, after all. Technically she is at the end of her fifth year, fixing to go into summer. |

On the rare occurrence of a sunny day, Cascada Minor would never be caught indoors. If she was at Hogwarts, she would be found im the courtyard or garden, when not at work she could be found in Hogsmeade. It was one of her favorite places to visit on a warm and sunny day like today. People out and about, warm and inviting weather, ice cream from the shoppe what more could anyone ask for? The school year was coming to an end and with it her workload was slowly dwindling. Her muggleborn students were often excited for their first summer home, eager to tell their parents about their new adventures. Unfortunately, the end of school meant Cas would spend the majority of her time back at the manor with her mother. It was the only part of coming home that brought her dread. She'd hoped things would change and her mother would be willing to rekindle their relationship and maybe have some sort of mother and daughter connection. But that seemed to be more of a pipe dream.
Today, however, she wasn't worried about any of that. Today she sat on a bench in the middle of the village, basking in the glorious rare sunshine. She waved and made small talk with a few people passing by, but mostly she just enjoyed the people watching. Her dark hair was tied back into a tight pony tail, shorts revealing her tan legs, and a simple black tank top. She wanted to soak in as many rays as she could while it lasted. Back in North America, sunshine was abundant, here it was the opposite. She didn't mind as long as she could take advantage of days like today. Drawing in a deep breath, she exhaled her stress and watched the shoppers laughing a little at the younger crowd pulling their pranks and really enjoying their Saturday afternoon. She wondered what Keeley was doing, and Lux. But most of her thoughts always seemed to drift back to him. As much as she tried to keep them away, he always crept in and settled in the place that warmed her the most. What was doing, was he happy. She wanted the best for him, even if that life didn't coincide with her own.
