SOO-RIN HWANG
26 JULY 14TH, 1993 SLYTHERIN GRADUATE KOREAN MINISTRY: OBLIVIATIOR PUREBLOOD SOUTH KOREA, JEOLLA PROVINCE | PERSONALITY: Likes to play with people if the situation allows it. Spends most of her time rolling the Hwang family in her direction but does stop to enjoy herself. Enjoys reading up to relax or use spells in one of the hidden rooms under the house. Definitely not against using the Dark Arts on people, whether they are family or not. Would love for the exiled to step foot into Korea so she can get her hitman out on them, or kill them herself. Doesn't bother hiding her personality but is not against catering her personality to the situation either. Is fairly certain she won't get married and honestly stopped caring about that. Instead will look for a match for her younger sister (who hopes that Soo Rin just magically drops dead sooner than later). Definitely adores her siblings and family even if it might not seem that way. Enjoys being addressed formally, as they all should honestly. ASPIRATION: Expanding the family and gaining more control. | LIKES: Money. Power. Control. Quidditch. Mythology. Death. Dark Arts. Most of her family. Danger. Purebloods. Winning. Blood. Pain (and inflicting). Anything Korean. Enjoys speaking Japanese too. Her runespoor. DISLIKES: Family members not doing what they should be doing. Deserters. Having to cut her losses. Bad business deals. Stupidity. Werewolves. Most people. Mudbloods. House-elves. |

CHILDHOOD. | Ever since Soo Rin was born she was prepped to be prim, proper and ruthless. Of course, trying to live up to your parents' expectations as a mere child was a weird concept. Nonetheless, she made it work and tried to do it right by her parents. Her father was nearly always strict, hiring multiple teachers to get her started young to learn multiple things from language to skills. One day she would become the heiress since she was born as the first child, and to much dismay was not a boy. If she was to become a heiress she'd have to be no different from a man. While growing up her mother adopted another girl, Jin-ah, who was much shyer and less confident, always clinging to Soo Rin and looking for directions. One was the shy girl and the other the confident one. Naturally, both girls underwent training but were usually separate as they trained for different things. Soo Rin's future would be prosperous and filled with expectations. Like plenty of others, she showed magic, though it was never much surprise with a magic-filled household. It wouldn't take long for them though to be bonded together, taking off for Hogwarts together as first years, becoming Slytherins. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | FIRST YEAR Hogwarts was far off from Korea but Soo Rin never had any moment where she felt out of place. She'd quickly shown interest in the castle and it's history, though might've preferred to have gone to another, much stricter, school. With Jin-ah by her side, she went on to explore the school and simply follow the flow of a first school year. There were too many new things to learn about so keeping her head together, as well as supporting her sister, was a priority. SECOND YEAR During her second year, she decided to pick up quidditch, and Jin-ah became her little cheerleader. She played as a seeker, starting her quidditch career at Hogwarts successfully. She caught several snitches despite her young age, the adrenaline always rushing thanks to her older team- and housemates. She'd settled down some more, taking an interest in potions and mythology, as well as history for the time being. THIRD YEAR In year three Soo Rin began to take more shape, following and watching those older than herself and worming her way into the pureblood community more. Jin-ah was still as clingy as ever but it was of no issue, though Soo Rin sure did wonder when the girl would stop. Nonetheless, she'd always be there for her. Since this year meant new types of classes she went to explore some more of those topics and subjects. She did well in Potions, picking it as her favourite class. FOURTH YEAR In year four hormones began to show themselves, hooking up with a Gryffindor boy but eventually, it never stayed a thing, both of them going their own way again. Her father began to pressure her more to work hard and keep up her grades. Playing quidditch was fine as long as her grades did not suffer under it. Occasionally he slipped her notes of importance through the owls but never so important that they were troublesome to hide. She joined the Inquisitorial Squad and took a step in the right direction. Of course, she continued to play as the seeker. This year she took an interest in reading about darker potions, both at home and at school. FIFTH YEAR The year when she began hanging out more with certain people. One of those was Sungjae Hwang, who eventually ended up becoming an enemy of the family for being a mudblood lover. She joined the intricate purebloods of Slytherin and helped Jin-ah become more confident. She convinced Jin-ah to join the Inquisitorial Squad as well, both of them in tow and working together. Yes, she still played Slytherin's team seeker with joy and success. Next year she'd be joining anything Dark Arts, finally. With her father's library at home, available to her whenever she wished, she read up on the Dark Arts, as well as Mythology. SIXTH YEAR Soo Rin was more than eager to jump into her Dark Arts classes, joining her fellow Slytherin purebloods who had the same ideas and plans for the future. Graduation was coming closer and closer, spending her time preparing for her future, as well as concocting plans with her father. Of course, her father still held all the ropes on decisions and plans but she was expected to share her own to learn what was good. She'd also taken on a mentor in multiple aspects of life while continuing to play seeker. Understandably, things have become a lot by now. SEVENTH YEAR Graduation year was here, still diligently following the Dark Arts classes. The idea of transferring to Durmstrang at some point still lingered in her mind but she made do with everything available to her at Hogwarts and back at home. Holidays were never to chill and relax but to continue learning in both school, manners and future stages. She finally quit playing for the Slytherin team, handing over the seeker spot to whichever ambitious kid wanted to play in her stead. This year she went with an internship in the British Ministry of Magic in The Department of International Magical Co-Operation, successfully finishing it and skipping the last year of school. |
ADULTHOOD. | After graduating from Hogwarts she went back to South Korea, beginning the formal initiation as heiress of the Hwang clan. This did not mean just sitting at home though as her father had decided to put her up for auction to marry. Naturally, she would not take the name of their family as she had a business and family to run. Soo Rin had previously created a circle of close-knit Hwangs who'd function as their own group of snakes. In this were those who'd carry out whatever Soo Rin wanted, in gain for loyalty to her as the heiress. Those loyal to the Hwang family, and young, would prove their loyalty before being able to join fully-fledged. Some have no choice, of course. Those on the opposite side of the family are able to prove their loyalty through trials. She's gone to other countries to create ties, invited people over for business meetings and made sure to keep track of the Hwang family. Crafting ties between families is also one of her tasks, looking to expand to other parts of the world. Specific breeding and pairing is not an unknown thing either. As of now, new pairings are to be found and considered, and the culling of those who deserve to die. Spreading her inner circle is also a priority, of course, but only those worthy can join. |

Hangyeom couldn't help but grin, sitting forward in his seat. "Well then, isn't she just so lucky to have you? I'm just going to have to assume that for now. I could always ask her the next time I see her, you know?" He'd probably forget about it, honestly, and wouldn't go to asking about intricate details. Hangyeom didn't want to know that much. When his slightly older cousin turned the conversation back to him he scoffed. "As if. I'm harder to match so nicely." Was it envy? Or was Hangyeom rather happy he wasn't arranged off? He couldn't imagine the exact pressure his cousin was going through. Or anyone else who went through the same ordeal. "Perhaps I should suggest an owl-order bride." But that meant sharing everything.
"I'm sure you will, and I'll be waiting." He didn't mind paying if he had to. Not today though, today was his cousin's treat. The younger one could take advantage of being younger. The same way those younger than him could try that.
Upon the question, he fought the urge to shrug. Was he happy? Was there anything not to be happy about? "Of course. All the freedom in comparison to being stuck in school?" Was it really rainbows and bursts of sunshine? "What's there not to enjoy?" He wasn't going to lay out the underlying problems, or the way their family worked. "I could do with a bit of a break, I suppose."
