FAMILY MEMBERS. | Jacob Graves, 44 years, Advisor for Dept. for Int. Cooperation Eloise Beauford, 41 years, French Diplomat for the French MoM Xavier Beauford-Graves, 14 years, Gryffindor Student |
CHILDHOOD. | Hadrien entered the world in a Muggle hospital nestled in the scenic city of Cannes, a picturesque French coastal town adorning the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. His parents, Jacob Graves, a British national employed in the French Ministry of Magic as a diplomat, and Eloise Beauford, a dedicated worker within the French Ministry of Magic, welcomed him into a world of dual citizenship, granting him the privilege of belonging to both France and the United Kingdom. For the initial six years of his life, Hadrien flourished in Cannes alongside his parents and his younger brother, Xavier. Embracing a philosophy that aimed to ground their children in the realities of the Muggle world, his parents enrolled him in the local public school system, steering clear of the magical community's tendency towards aloofness regarding non-magical affairs. The bond between Hadrien and Xavier deepened over the years, fortified by the proximity of their ages. However, the trajectory of Hadrien's life took a significant turn when his mother received a promotion within the French Ministry of Magic, necessitating a relocation to the vibrant city of London. Adjusting to their new surroundings, Hadrien grappled with the challenges of cultural assimilation. His French heritage, once a source of pride, became a target for ridicule and exclusion among his peers. Xavier, too, faced similar trials, further cementing the brothers' bond in solidarity against adversity. As Hadrien struggled to navigate his new environment, confrontations with fellow students escalated, eventually culminating in physical altercations. Unbeknownst to him, his burgeoning magical abilities lay dormant, waiting for a suitable catalyst to awaken them. It was during one such confrontation with a bully that the unexpected happened. In a moment of distress, Hadrien's untapped powers surged forth, propelling his aggressor across the room with an incredible force. The sudden manifestation of magic caught everyone by surprise, prompting swift intervention from the Ministry of Magic. With discretion paramount, they worked tirelessly to conceal the incident, safeguarding the secrecy of the wizarding world. Following this revelation, Hadrien found himself withdrawn from conventional schooling, awaiting the arrival of a peculiar letter that would forever alter the course of his destiny - his acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Like his father before him, Hadrien continued the long-standing Graves family tradition of attending Hogwarts. The Graves lineage connected deeply with Gryffindor, but Hadrien broke the mould as the first Ravenclaw in over 150 years. Unlike his experience in the English public school system, Hogwarts provided an environment where his magical background and interactions with magical and non-magical peers allowed him to thrive—his first year at Hogwarts passed smoothly, marked by both success and uneventfulness. In his second year, Hadrien joined the school's duelling club and swiftly gained renown as one of Ravenclaw's most adept spellcasters. His passion for duelling led him to co-found an underground duelling ring, where students convened twice a week for unofficial matches in a hidden chamber within a collapsed hallway. During Hadrien's second year, an incident with a mandrake left him hospitalized for three days after his earmuff slipped off, bursting his right eardrum. Consequently, he occasionally experiences a sharp ringing in his right ear that causes tremors. During Hadrien's third year, his younger brother Xavier commenced his studies at Hogwarts. Continuing the family legacy, Xavier was sorted into Gryffindor, though Hadrien couldn't help but feel disappointed at being separated from his brother. Despite this, Hadrien persisted with the duelling ring, relocating it to a hidden grove within the Forbidden Forest after a rogue bombarda spell rendered its previous location unsafe. Concerned that Hadrien was losing touch with his French heritage, his parents enrolled him in a student exchange program. Thus, Hadrien spent his fourth year at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Rumours swirled about his whereabouts, fueled by imaginative tales crafted by his peers, much to Xavier's amusement. Meanwhile, the duelling club that Hadrien co-founded fell under the control of a cunning Slytherin named Conrad, who manipulated its members to sow chaos within Hogwarts, leveraging secrets he held over them. Upon returning to Hogwarts for his fifth year, Hadrien grappled with rumours suggesting he was a doppelganger while the actual "Hadrien" remained missing. During his year in France, he rekindled his original accent through increased exposure to his native language of, French. Additionally, he sought to reclaim leadership of the duelling club, knowing that a confrontation with Conrad for club control was imminent. |

RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
The light from moonlight filtered through the dense canopy of trees in the Forbidden Forest; Hadrien cautiously navigated his way to the hidden grove where the unofficial duelling met twice a week. He felt a mixture of apprehension and determination coursing through his veins. The club had been his pride and joy, something that he crafted with the original members from nothing, but during his one-year absence in France, Conrad, a younger Slytherin, had negatively influenced the club. He blackmailed most members to do his bidding, and those not under Conrad's control either graduated or were too afraid to confront him.
As he stepped into the clearing, the air seemed tense. Conrad was already there, leaning casually against a tree with some of his closest friends within the club. His lips curled into a smirk at Hadrien's arrival. "Well, well, look who decided to show up," Conrad taunted, his voice dripping in arrogance, "I heard from the grapevine you were lying in a gutter somewhere in Romania. Or was that just wishful thinking?"
Hadrien squared his shoulder, meeting Conrad's gaze with his own, "I'm here to reclaim what's rightfully mine," he declared, his voice ringing out confidently in the stillness of the darkened groce. He knew this would be a challenge, and he was outmatched, but Conrad needed to be stopped.
Conrad chuckled darkly, pushing himself off the tree and sauntering toward the lone Ravenclaw student, "The club is mine now, and I have no intention of giving it up. I am having too much fun for it stop now." The Slytherin student grabbed his wand from his pants pocket, the wand's tip glowing an unworldly green colour. Hadrien grabbed his wand as well. There was silence within the grove as Hadrien and Conrad stared at each other, analyzing each other to gain an advantage in the duel.
Just as Hadrien was going to fire his first spell, he felt something hit the centre of his back, the force freezing every part of his body until he couldn't move. Conrad chuckled and recoiled his wand. The mysterious figure emerged from the shadows and revealed his identity. It was his brother, Xavier. "I'm sorry, Hadrien," he said lowly as he cast another spell to knock out his brother on the ground of the grove."
