EIGHTEEN 25th NOV 2001 AUROR HOGWARTS/SLYTH PUREBLOOD LONDON | PERSONALITY: Erisa possesses a complex and multifaceted personality, marked by a blend of strengths and weaknesses. On the positive side, she is fiercely competitive, driven by an unyielding determination to succeed in whatever she sets her mind to. Her organised and calculated approach to life allows her to navigate even the most challenging of situations with grace and precision. Erisa's outspoken nature and sharp wit make her a formidable adversary, capable of holding her own in any debate or confrontation. Additionally, her opportunistic mindset enables her to seize upon any chance for advancement or self-improvement, turning setbacks into opportunities for growth. However, these same qualities can also manifest in negative ways. Erisa's cut-throat demeanour and mistrustful nature can alienate those around her, making it difficult for her to form genuine connections or cultivate lasting relationships. Her tendency towards chaos and manipulation can lead her down a darker path, causing her to prioritise her own interests above those of others. Despite her undeniable intelligence and ambition, Erisa's calculating nature often blinds her to the feelings and needs of those around her, leaving her isolated and alone in her pursuit of power and recognition. However, beneath her outward confidence lies a sense of profound dissatisfaction with the truth about her life. Despite her accomplishments, Erisa grapples with feelings of alienation and uncertainty, yearning for a sense of belonging that has always eluded her. Though she longs to find her place in the world, she remains unsure of where she truly belongs, grappling with the complexities of her identity as she searches for meaning and purpose in a wizarding world fraught with uncertainty. | LIKES: - Winning: Erisa thrives on competition and takes great satisfaction in emerging victorious in any challenge. - Authenticity: She values honesty and authenticity in people, preferring genuine connections over superficiality. - Power and influence: Erisa is drawn to positions of authority and influence, craving the respect and admiration of her peers. - Strategy and planning: She enjoys devising intricate plans and strategies, enjoying the opportunity to outsmart her opponents. - Loyalty: Despite her mistrustful nature, Erisa values loyalty and integrity in those she considers allies. - Challenges: Erisa enjoys pushing herself to the limit, seeking out new challenges and obstacles to overcome. DISLIKES: - Losing: Erisa despises failure and will go to great lengths to avoid it, viewing defeat as a personal affront to her abilities. - Fake and pretentious people: She has little patience for those who pretend to be something they're not, preferring authenticity above all else. - Try-hards: Erisa finds overly ambitious individuals irritating, seeing their desperation for validation as a sign of weakness, despite the quality also being reflected in herself. - Herbology: She has little interest in the study of plants and finds the subject dull and unappealing. - Discrimination: Having experienced prejudice firsthand, Erisa has a deep-seated hatred for discrimination in any form. - Her muggle parents and siblings: Erisa harbours resentment towards her family for their mistreatment of her during her childhood. - Her previous muggleborn identity: Despite her magical abilities, Erisa struggled with her identity as a muggleborn, feeling disconnected from both the wizarding and muggle worlds. |

CHILDHOOD. | Erisa Shimada was born as "Aki" into a family that appeared ordinary on the surface, but beneath that façade lay a tangled web of secrets and deceit. Her parents, muggles who had always feared and struggled to understand the wizarding world, had never truly accepted her magical heritage. As a result, they treated Erisa with disdain, unable to reconcile their own insecurities with their daughter's innate magical abilities. Yet, despite her best efforts to excel academically, Erisa's home life continued to take its toll on her emotional well-being. The constant barrage of criticism and neglect left her feeling bitter and resentful, fuelling a growing sense of anger and defiance within her. It was during these formative years that Erisa began to embrace her competitive nature as a means of coping with the stress she experienced at home. She learned to see the world as a battleground, where only the strongest and most cunning survived. This cut-throat mentality would come to define her approach to life, shaping her into the formidable young witch she would become. Unbeknownst to Erisa, her true lineage traced back to the Shimada family, a notorious pureblood clan with deep roots in Japanese wizarding society. Her ancestry was carefully concealed from her by her false parents, who feared the horrible consequences of revealing her heritage due to a settlement that had been made with them long ago before they had started rearing her. It wasn't until Erisa turned 16 that she stumbled upon the life-altering truth, dropping her name "Aki" and unravelling the carefully guarded secrets that had shaped her identity. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Erisa Shimada entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with a chip on her shoulder as a young child and a hunger for recognition. Sorted into Slytherin house, she quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with, wielding her sharp intellect and cunning nature to navigate the treacherous waters of academics and school politics, pushing against those who doubted her abilities as a supposed muggleborn. Despite her outward confidence, Erisa's upbringing had left her with deep-seated insecurities and a profound mistrust of others. She viewed the world through a lens of competition, seeing every interaction as an opportunity to assert her dominance and further her own ambitions. Erisa's journey at Hogwarts was marked by both triumphs and challenges. While she excelled academically, her cut-throat demeanour alienated many of her peers, leaving her isolated and resentful. However, she had the professor's on her side, who praised her hard work and magical prowess despite being raised by muggles. Between her 5th and 6th year at Hogwarts, Erisa experienced a whirlwind of emotions as she embarked on her first love affair. The relationship was intense and passionate, but also tumultuous, marked by fiery arguments and tender moments of reconciliation. Despite the chaos, Erisa found solace and a sense of belonging in the arms of her other half, clinging to the fleeting moments of happiness. She had also been awarded with the position of House Prefect, taking her position very seriously whilst also allowing her to assert dominance on others. However, tragedy struck when Erisa was among the first to be targeted during a dark period of muggleborn and creature cleansing, orchestrated by purist witches and wizards. In a terrifying display of prejudice and cruelty, she was kidnapped and subjected to unspeakable torture at the hands of her captors. The experience left her shattered and traumatised, her spirit broken and her faith in wizardkind shattered. To Erisa's dismay, her love interest remained impartial in the face of these atrocities, unable or unwilling to intervene on her behalf. The betrayal cut deep, adding another layer of pain to an already agonising ordeal. As she endured unimaginable suffering, Erisa clung to memories of her lost love, one of the few things that kept her hopeful. Eventually, fate intervened, and Erisa managed to escape her captors' clutches once the revolution had occurred, her body bruised and battered, but her spirit intact. Yet, the scars of her ordeal ran deep, leaving her heartbroken and disillusioned. The loss of her love, coupled with the trauma of her captivity, cast a long shadow over her soul, shaping her in ways she could never have imagined. Despite everything that had happened, Erisa emerged from the darkness with a steely resolve, determined to reclaim her sense of agency and forge a new path forward. Though the wounds of her past would never fully heal, she refused to be defined by the pain of her past. As she navigated the complexities of adolescence, Erisa struggled to reconcile her dual identity as both a muggleborn outcast and a scion of pureblood royalty. Her journey of self-discovery was fraught with betrayal and heartache, forcing her to confront the demons of her past and attempt to seek redemption in some way. |
ADULTHOOD. | In the end, Erisa emerged as a formidable young witch, hardened by adversity yet determined to carve out her own destiny in a world rife with prejudice and injustice. Though her journey was fraught with obstacles, she refused to be defined by the circumstances of her birth and rearing, embracing her heritage. Erisa's harrowing experiences had a profound impact on her attitude toward her work as a first year Auror trainee. Once a staunch believer in upholding the rules and fighting for justice, she found herself disillusioned and jaded in the wake of her trauma. The idealism that once fuelled her passion for the law had been replaced by a sense of cynicism and mistrust, driving her to question the institutions. No longer content to play by the rules, Erisa found herself drawn to the darker aspects of her profession, straying from the path of righteousness in pursuit of her own brand of justice. She became increasingly willing to bend or break the rules if it meant achieving her goals, embracing a more morally ambiguous approach to her work. Fuelled by vengeance, Erisa often found herself walking a fine line between right and wrong, navigating the murky waters of morality with a sense of reckless abandon. Her methods grow increasingly unconventional, her tactics more ruthless, as she delves deeper into the shadows in search of more answers. |

RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
Aki had left her private lessons in the Dark Arts with Professor Stewart more thoughtful than usual. With every lesson she attended, her restlessness did not get much better, feeling as if she needed to do more. Perhaps this had something to do with her recurring nightmares.. or the sudden bouts of anxiety every time she thought about her imprisonment.. or thoughts of a person who had entirely vanished from her life. Her confusion and pain manifested itself into an intense need of preparation for the worst, for justice, and just trying to understand why. Professor Stewart was often hard on her no matter how well prepared she was for the lesson.. she simply needed to do better.
"You should consider carrying a protection charm, I forsee danger in your path.."
Aki felt sluggish as she climbed the staircase in the late evening, a time when most students would retire to their common rooms rather than populating other parts of the castle. She slowed down in her tracks, frowning at the portrait that spoke those words every time she walked past. Maybe it had unnerved her as a young girl in her first year at Hogwarts, but after all these years, with the added stress on top of her head, she had simply had enough. "Oh for Merlin's sake, just shut up!" she yelled at the portrait, the young lady in the painting running to cower behind her chair. Perhaps it was uncalled for.. luckily, there was no one around to see her shouting at a painting.
She moved on, finally reaching the library, inhaling as she quickly made a decision. Her eyes flitted to the librarian's desk, noting that it was empty and her ears picking up on her voice a few aisles away. Aki's heart rate quickened as she moved towards the table, opening up the top drawer and feeling her heart sink. The librarian's stern voice shifted, hearing footsteps steadily move behind the aisles and back in her direction. After scrambling through the next few drawers, her heart suddenly skipped as she finally located the large, rusting key, snatching it into her hand and closing the drawer shut. She quickly slid away, her heart thumping in her chest as she moved quickly behind one of the aisles, undetected.
Aki looked down at the key in her hand, took another deep breath and moved to the back of the room, doing something she never thought she would have had the courage to do before. But the books they were instructed to read were just not giving her the answers anymore.
Once the atmosphere around her had considerably quietened down, she moved to the back of the library, warily inserting the key into the iron wrought gate of the restricted section. She swiftly opened the door and slunk through, closing it behind her firmly, ensuring that she was not being followed. She moved towards a set of stairs which led down to a separate room, the walls covered in dark, leatherbound books. Swallowing back, she took a step forward, her fingers lightly tracing over the spines of the books neatly placed on the shelves, seemingly untouched for a long time.
"The rise and fall... the rise and fall.." she murmured under her breath, searching as she explored, letting her guard down.
