17 25th DEC 2002 STUDENT HOGWARTS/GRYF/6TH PUREBLOOD SEOUL | PERSONALITY: Tae-il is the eldest son from the socialite branch of the prominent Chae family. He is the epitome of a well-rounded, pure blood rich boy, who's purpose in life is to carry on the Chae traditions and appease his family's desires. All of this is more out of habit and command, rather than out of actual willingness. He is an extremely kempt and studious individual, following a strict self-empowered day-to-day regime which renders him un-amiable if not complied with. He is a friendly guy, but is sometimes picky about who he associates with. His narrow-mindedness may often cause others to keep him at arms length, but if persistent enough and depending on the person, he can be malleable to other views. Tae-il is amiable enough, but he often prefers to keep to himself and not be distracted. Although he doesn't like confrontations and such, he does have a nasty temper if absolutely pushed to that extent, which can lead to making some enemies. But generally he is very calm and collected. For romance, he is a bit of a playboy, where he likes to flirt around, but he is currently not looking to be serious with anyone. ASPIRATION: Tae-il's goals fall nothing short from what his family expect of him. Having been an exceptional student, and well accomplished in duelling for his age, he is a target for very high expectations. CHILDHOOD. | Tae-il was born in Seoul, into the family of Chae, to mother Sun-hee and father Shi-woo. His conception was the result of an arranged marriage, which is one of the Chae family's long-lasting traditions. Tae-il was cherished and celebrated, being the first child, but a year later, his younger brother was born. Initially having been a cheerful kid, Tae-il grew up possessing a form of bitterness towards his younger brother, who received their parents' attention in a more laid-back form. Like many others before him, Tae-il's life had already been mapped out, his destiny under the influence of his parents. It was also the curse of being the first born child, as well as a Chae. He was raised in Seoul and was not allowed to do many things as an infant, such as playing outdoors with most children, which many would regard as an essence of childhood. His mother did not want anything happening to or anyone tainting her precious son. Everything was controlled, from what he ate, to the way he dressed. His dialogue was rehearsed for important meetings or family dinners. Some leniency was given to the younger brother, which was what drove Tae-il's bitterness towards him. Although he liked to be the centre of attention most times, he often wished he had his brother's blasé attitude towards the family values. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | When it came for the time the young boys were to attend school, the choice was between being sent to their father's school, Mahoutokoro, or their mother's which was Hogwarts. Ultimately, their mother got the say and they were sent to Hogwarts, where both boys were sorted into Gryffindor house. It was a big change for Tae-il but he soon meld in well with the castle's environment and students. He enjoyed studying the different subjects whilst receiving exceptional grades, but what he loved the most was having the freedom to socialise with whoever he wanted, eat whatever he wanted, etc. It was a breath of fresh air. But of course, his family's reach to him was never too far. Throughout his years at Hogwarts until his fifth year, Tae-il endured the same day-to-day routine; waking up early, studying, attend classes, studying, eating, sleep early. During the holidays, he and his brother often travelled back and forth between London and Seoul, depending on their parents. Even though he imagined himself having many friends, he was only able to keep a few close companions due to his tedious habitual routines, and fear of his family's judgement. Tae-il continues to learn and study the best that he can, awaiting the time when his parents decide who he should marry, and where he should reside. Until then, he tries to distract himself as much as he can from those thoughts, diving deep into his books, aiming to overachieve in whatever he set his mind to. |

RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
As soon as the morning sun peeped over the horizon, Tae-il's eyes automatically opened from his sleep. There was no need for a wake up call, his body naturally rousing at the same time every morning, regardless of the different class times. He checked his watch just to be sure; 6:30 am. His class would start at nine. The Gryffindor went about his morning routine of washing face, brushing teeth, donning school uniform, fixing hair, grabbing his bag with books.. and then making his way down to the common room. All without disturbing his room mates. Normally he would have just left for the library or an empty classroom to catch up on already caught up studying, but the past week he had been leaving the tower together with Hyemi. It was something else he looked forward to now, apart from the pleasant feeling of awaking from a good night's rest.
Now in the Gryffindor common room, he made himself comfortable in one of the arm chairs. He took out one of the books from his bag; the one he had been pouring over was about dragons, something that had piqued his interest recently. The remainder of the time was passed waiting for Hyemi, checking his watch every now and then. He looked up from his book as the sound of steps coming from the dorms reached his ears, and smiled as soon as he heard her voice. "Good morning." Placing his book back into his bag, he stood up to greet her, his toothy smile still in place. "Well.." A glance at his watch again. They had about 20 minutes to reach their classes. "Look at you, your timing is getting better," he chuckled as he joked with her. It was true though, it seemed she was arriving a minute or so early every morning. Something minuscule, but of course he would notice that. "Shall we be on our way then?" he said, as he extended a hand towards the portrait hole in gesture for her to lead the way first.
