The confidence is earned, and stems from years of high achievement and hard work. He doesn't like to play games, being rather blunt himself, and appreciates honesty. He holds himself to a high work standard, and prides himself on delivering quality performance at whatever he does, be it work, study, or extra curriculars. His analytical inclinations and attention to detail serve him well in this sense. Sung-Jin is also calculated, both by nature and as a product of the family that he was born into. He takes care when interacting with others and choosing who he associates with. He is always aware of what is going on around him, and always composed. In spite of all this, he still does have a good sense of humor- he just knows when it is appropriate to let it out. You will generally only see that side to him once he trusts you, which isn't the easiest thing to make Sung-Jin do. ASPIRATION: Sung-Jin wants to make a name for himself, and stand out based on his own merit, and not just his family's. As someone that has always had things come easily to them and has ever only really known success, he wants to continue pushing himself and his boundaries to become as successful and influential as he can be. CHILDHOOD. | Sung-Jin was born and raised in the South Jeolla province of South Korea, to the Hwang family. Coming from such an influential family, Sung-Jin has been no stranger to luxury from the moment he was born. His family carries veela blood, and are well known supporters of the dark arts. Sung-Jin himself is full veela (will apply for creature status once post requirement is reached). Due to the strict values and rules of being a Hwang, Sung-Jin learnt from an early age that to be rewarded, he must surpass expectations and flourish in what he does. It also shaped him to be obedient to the whims and will of his family, lest he face exile, and he values his luxuries and the influence of his family far too much to risk exile. In spite of the strict upbringing, Sung-Jin still considers his childhood a happy one. As someone that excels at most things with ease, he thrived in the more pressure heavy environment, and this is where his thirst for success and making a name for himself was born. Sung-Jin has a little sister that has been spoilt quite a bit due to their affluent lifestyle. As he started to get older, he did play into it a bit too, enjoying spending time with and doting on Soo Jin. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Upon reaching age, Sung-Jin's parents sent him off to Hogwarts. He didn't really mind the distance though, as he had other cousins in attendance, and it was one big adventure for him. The way he saw it, it gave him a chance to start building himself up as a person outside of "just another spoilt Hwang". It was no surprise to anyone when he was sorted into Slytherin. His first years saw the young Korean more quiet. Hyper aware of making a mistake and associating with people that his family wouldn't approve of (especially being his first time on his own, away from them), he tended to stick to himself as he learnt the ropes. The next few years saw him open up more and slowly socialise with more people, although Sung-Jin still only stuck to people he was absolutely certain his parents would approve of-that is, purebloods. He also studied and worked hard, earning himself impeccable grades, as expected of a Hwang. When in his sixth year he found out that he was arranged to be married. Although he didn't yet know who to, it wasn't a huge shock to the boy, given his familial status and responsibilities. It was the summer between his sixth and seventh years that he realised the person he was arranged to is Artemis Hei-Ran Kang, a girl he had met at Hogwarts. Later on, he got into prison. A obviously difficult experience that left him scarred, Artemis was one of the ones that helped him catch up on his school work so that he could graduate. |
ADULDHOOD. | After graduating Hogwarts, Sung-Jin moved back to South Korea. He earned himself a place at the Ministry for Magic in Korea, as a trainee obliviator. Sung-Jin enjoyed the transition from school to further training and the workforce, and again, the brief freedom of not being stuck in crowded dorms was welcomed. After leaving, Sung-Jin still found himself struggling with all of the trauma associated with the prisons. Although he would never outwardly admit it, he found it affecting him negatively and began to manifest in his professional life. As a result, although he was loathe to do so, Sung-Jin began to discretely attend therapy. He kept it under the wraps as he was embarrassed that he even felt the need to do so, but it did help him sort out his feelings and come to terms with what he experienced. During this time, Artemis flew out to meet him, and they looked for a place together that they would both like. It was a bit of an odd experience as Sung-Jin tried to find his footing. Still, they made it work and found a place that they both like. Nowadays, Sung-Jin is working hard to prove himself to his family, and also his worth to those around him. He is mentally in a better space, and enjoying life at the moment. |

Towards the end of last year, Sena had found an injured fairy when roaming the grounds. She had been in the process of nursing it back to health, however the pretty little thing still hadn't fully recovered when she had had to leave for the summer break. It had been unable to fly properly, which was a dangerous thing for a fairy. Now that she was finally back at Hogwarts, Sena was anxious to see the progress of her winged friend, whom she had taken to calling "Misa".
Making her way down across the lawns and over the Hogwarts grounds, Sena easily slipped into the tree line and made her way to the familiar grove that she knew Misa favoured. It was only a couple of minutes or so from the tree line, thus the Ravenclaw felt comfortable relaxing and calling out her friend's name. "Misa? Are you here? It's Sena!" It was a couple of minutes of no response before the girl figured that the fairy was not around and she was about to head back to the castle in disappointment, when the familiar high pitched buzzing reached her ears. A smile instantly on her face, she spun around in delight. "Misa! You're here!" Hovering near the ground, the dainty little creature waved to her, and Sena crouched down, reaching out her hand for the creature to perch upon. In the back of her mind, her brain went into analytical mode, taking in the creature and the fact that Misa still seemed to be having flying problems, but that was a matter for later. For now, she was just happy to see the fairy safe.
