15 NOVEMBER 16, 2003 STUDENT SLYTHERIN/4TH YEAR PUREBLOOD TAHITI/ENGLAND | PERSONALITY: Tamanui, or Tama for short, considers himself a tough guy; whether that is true or not is debatable. He is quiet and doesn't like expressing his emotions, preferring instead to look cool and put together. The one time you might actually see him being expressive is when playing uke/guitar or being around his close family/friends back in Tahiti. Tama cares a lot about his appearance and image. As part of this trait, he is very into physical fitness/weightlifting, and also fashion. Overtime he will mellow out and open up but for now, he is rather self obsessed and would rather seem 'tough' than vulnerable. This has made it hard for him to feel real, genuine relationships and connections with others as a child and young teen. Quietly confident, Tama is always sure of himself, and will simply pretend he is when not. He is friendly enough and a bit of a flirt, but also a touch protective and possessive. Tama is also quick to anger, although rather than acting on his anger straight away, he will hold onto it and take action when it will be most effective. Definitely the type to hold a grudge. ASPIRATION: Although he doesn't yet know what he wants to do, it will probably be somewhere in the space of physical fitness, or even fashion. Something concerned with physical appearance that doesn't require a whole lot of academic thinking or schmoozing up to people. Outside of a career, Tama would secretly love to find someone that he can open up to, and that will love him for him. He also misses his community, and being able to relax and goof off with friends back home, and would love to find a good community that he can be himself around. CHILDHOOD. | Tama was born in Tahiti, French Polynesia. His parents had an arranged marriage, and were always bickering. Although the perfect pair in public, they were obviously unhappy in private. When his mother was pregnant with him, she was overjoyed as she thought that having a baby would improve her marriage, but it did not and she would often take out her frustrations on Tama as a result. As such, Tama grew up very close to his father, but not so much his mother. As a child, you would often find the pair together, and it was his father that passed his love of music onto Tama, teaching him how to sail and play the guitar and Tahitian ukulele. When it wasn't just him and his father, Tama would spend as little time at home as possible. He'd go off with friends wondering around the island, or steal his little cousin and spoil her with treats. He preferred to be out than at home listening to his mother's berating, or his parents' bickering. From a young age, he learnt off his parents the importance of appearances, especially in a pureblood family, and this lead him to hyper focus on his looks, and develop a tough facade. He thought that any emotion was a weakness to be exploited, and worked to repress them. As he was living in French Polynesia, Tama ended up starting off his magical education at Beauxbatons. It was a relief for him to be away from home, as in spite of all the good times with his father, the atmosphere was still toxic and uninviting. During the summer after his third year, the situation at home got very uncomfortable for him, and he went to live with his aunty and uncle in England, also transferring to Hogwarts because of the move. |
YEAR 01. | Tama was a moody, ill behaved first year. Although he enjoyed being away from home and the adventure it brought, the environment was very different from Tahiti in France, and he had a hard time adjusting. Started to find his groove towards the end of the year. |
YEAR 02. | Tama had done poorly academically during his first year, and wanted to redeem himself second year. His parents had made him take extra tutoring, and it did pay off. He worked harder, and started to get more into fitness. He also started to open up a bit and gained a few close friends. |
YEAR 03. | Third year he was more relaxed, his behaviour had improved and he was doing well in classes. He still only had a few truly close friends, but hung out with a large crowd and was generally well liked. |

Although it was finally spring, and the weather had warmed significantly, Hina still trudged around in her winter gear- a beanie, scarf, and oversized coat protecting her from that lingering nip. Hogwarts was cold. Too cold. She wanted to visit home. And not their house in London, her true home in the Pacific.
Shivering as a gusty of wind sent chills through her arms, the young girl dug her hands into her pockets and let her legs carry her along, no particular destination in mind. Eventually, she found herself by the lake, one of her favourite places settling down over the dock, she let her legs dangle over the frigid lake, not bothering to remove her shoes. It was too cold for that. She couldn't wait until Summer, when it would be warm enough that she may just brave the cold temperatures of the lake and jump in. She did love to swim, after all.
Sighing, Hina slowly relaxed and let her gaze wander over the scenery. A pretty picture to look at. The young Slytherin slowly eased herself back until she was lying down, feet still dangling over the edge of the dock, and let her eyes drift shut. Listening to the gently lapping of water around her, and the soft rustling of leaves in the breeze, she could almost imagine that she was back in the islands.
