BASIC INFORMATION
CALANTHE HANEUL GRAY 15 DECEMBER 14TH, 2003 TRANSFER STUDENT 4TH YEAR; Gryffindor MUGGLEBORN Moved to BRIGHTON FROM AMERICA | PERSONALITY: Rebellious, likes a party and easily amused by the loud and stupid. She's bold and easily obliges to dares, rarely cares about the negatives and just does. She's out-going, can be loud and loves to watch others crash and burn to an extent. Occasionally seems nice but under the surface really doesn't care that much. Is interested in quidditch though, either as a player or a simple cheerleader. Doesn't mind being seen, thinks that most purebloods are stupid and entirely stuck-up. Currently dealing with her parents deciding to move out to England, causing her to leave behind her friends. Is a curious cat when it comes down to it. Believes she's pretty invincible. LIKES: Quidditch. Flowers and herbology, thanks to her mother. Bubble tea. Korean food. Spicy food in general. Saying yes when the answer should clearly be no. Girls? Maybe? DISLIKES: The move to England and resents her parents for it at the moment. Usually annoyed with her sister. Getting into trouble when it should be avoided (getting caught). ASPIRATIONS: Probably a quidditch player or something? She's not sure and feels like there's other things to worry about. OOC wise I'd like for her to become kinder and wiser, learn her wrongs are wrongs and feel bad. |

HISTORY
CHILDHOOD:
Calanthe is born in America, unexpectedly possessing magic. Her parents are both muggleborns, and even her little sister Iolanthe possesses magical abilities. They have no clue where they originate from but also can't be bothered to find out. As far as her childhood, it was a little odd with magic suddenly showing up but otherwise went to a muggle elementary school in her city. They've grown up as a middle class family, nothing too extraordinary about them really. Her father is a troubled veterinarian and her mother loves playing around with flowers. Her mothers' love for flowers inspired the children's names; both being flowers. They've grown in the same city for some years.
SCHOOL YEARS:
FIRST-YEAR:
With odd and magical powers in her veins, or whatever, Calanthe was the first one to be sent to magic school; Ilvernmorny. Honestly, everything was weird about this world. Flying books, brooms, kettles and magic? Yeah, try selling that to a girl who who knew nothing about magic. This year was mostly about learning anything fundamental really. There wasn't a thing she knew, until the end of her first year anyway.
SECOND YEAR:
Magic was still foreign to her, even if she had managed to use it in year one. It still felt unfamiliar to her, trying to cope and control it. Fair to say Calanthe was not the best at doing the controlling of her magic, performing pretty weakly despite the attempt to become better at it. Reading wasn't exactly her strongest suit either, not a fan of stuffing information into her confused brain.
THIRD YEAR:
With the third year coming up Calanthe still didn't quite have a grasp on magic but it'd become much better than the previous two years. It didn't help that she still didn't like studying, easily distracted by others and their fun. Calanthe had begun looking for clubs and what-not to join, just to see what they entailed and if they'd be any fun. She loved being outside, often sitting near quidditch practices to watch. This was also the year that they'd move over the holidays, quickly souring the girls' mood and not looking forward to moving. Perhaps it'd be a good way to start over? She'd be new after all.

Heavy rain was falling, and thunder cracking through the skies as a metaphor for something bad about to happen. The ground was muddy and easily able to slip and fall or get stuck in it. Water had soaked her entirely, but not just her. The person who was attempting to run from her was yelling and screaming at the top of her lungs while thunder broke the noise coming from their throat.
Soo-Rin was beyond livid, the long talons sharp and ready to slice through flesh with ease. A screech, another crack of thunder and a flash of lightning, easily locating her runaway target. One had spoken of betrayal. Double betrayal even. None that she was going to report back to anyone ever again. The weather was dreadful but no match for the harpy in flight, unless she'd be struck down by a lightning bolt from above.
The yells continued until the woman slipped. Family members who had been with them in the room were still standing on the porch of the mansion, letting the enraged woman deal with the issue. After all, why get wet in this storm made for a siren's hell when the heiress was the one dealing with it already?
As the woman had slipped in her attempted escape the harpy made a dive down, claws out and ready to attack the helpless, screaming woman. She could feel it coming, the end of her life. It didn't take long for Soo-Rin to strike her sharp claws into the woman first, and then the beak pecking aggressively at the body. The meek attempt to stop the harpy on top of her, practically weighing down the woman, was futile. Talons dug in, the sharp beak ripping the clothes up easily. She'd eat her entirely if she had the appetite for human flesh, but she did not. She was not a werewolf or a vampire.
Not much after, the rain had begun to subside. The thunder stopped, the woman was dead and Soo-Rin lay in her human skin in mud. A lot of it. There was blood, there was water and mud covering her like a nasty bath you'd never wish for. The rage had taken so much out of her, like a blind fury that had no bounds, causing her to pass out entirely. Not only did she look disgusting, but her own clothes had also ripped. Some of the family members came to find her and the result, Soo-Rin laying on top of a mauled-down body, thanks to her own busy body. Another murder, another mystery.
