 | corinth caSTILLO 15 jan 27th student Banff academy squib Banffshire Coast, Scotlnd | PERSONALITY: Corinth is a troubled little introvert who has suffered a great deal of trauma at the hands of his father before the man was arrested and imprisoned in Azkaban. Because of what's happened to him in the past, he lives by the motto "you catch more bees with honey." Corinth is one of those extremely nice guys who is incapable of saying no because he knows what it is like to be abused, to disappoint people and be abandoned by those he loves. He hates causing a scene, he doesn't like conflict and he doesn't want to be the person who causes others physical or emotional pain so he goes out of his way to be kind to everyone. This often backfires, leaving Corinth taken advantage of and discarded when people are finished with him. His kindness is his best and worst trait that brings him happiness and suffering. Corinth also has a jealous streak which arose because of him being a Squib and growing up around magic but never being able to perform himself. The experiments done on him to force him to become magical were an even bigger trigger to his jealousy and spite towards people with magic. When his father left, though it was better for him, his brother and his mother, it caused a chain reaction of negative emotions inside of Corinth that once again proved he wasn't good enough as he was. He has a habit of hanging on too tight to people for fear of being left again and disappointing them. LIKES: surfing, magic, music, the mountains, the ocean, video games, rainy days, hugs, writing letters, healers DISLIKES: sweets, socks with sandals, being alone, dark rooms, too much quiet, trains, math, healers, scientists, his father ASPIRATIONS: Unrealistic aspiration is to learn how to do magic because he's super jealous of his brother, Luca, who is a wizard, of his mother who is a witch and his uncle, a wizard, and he wants to prove he is good enough. Realistic aspiration survive Banff Academy without getting his heart broken? He's really not sure. Perhaps something with music or writing. |

Born on Jan 27 to Sierra Castillo nd August Ryding, two pureblood, purists, and there was great hope for Corinth, and his older brother Luca, to carry on the family name, make his grandparents proud and follow in the same traditions as every other pureblood born with a silver spoon. The Rydings and Castillos are wealthy, well known families in Wizarding Britain with great influence in the Ministry and Corinth and Luca were destined to amount to something that would make both families proud. Corinth grew up in a closely knit family. His mother and her older brother, Mathew, were close. His older brother was practically his best friends even though Luca was three years older than Corinth. Luca was someone Corinth looked up to and when he went off to Hogwarts, Corinth couldn't wait to join him.
Growing up, being the child of two purebloods, Corinth never showed any signs of having magical abilities like his peers. They would got to pureblood events, meet other kids his age, and their parents would talk about what astonishing things they had done. Corinth had done nothing. His parents had nothing to share with their friends. It was becoming worrisome for the Ryding side of the family, and August took Corinth to St. Mungo's to have him assessed. When Healers could find nothing physically wrong with him, August took him to work and since he focused on medical research and experimentation, he took samples of Corinth's blood and was able to determine that he had no magical genes within his DNA. Corinth was a Squib. This was the first time Corinth really felt the weight of carrying powerful family names, and felt he was a disappointment.
The next year of his life, Corinth's father secretly worked with another Unspeakable (Ragnar Keeling ) on ways in which they could change Corinth's DNA and inject him with magical DNA. He got really sick from these experiments, which his mother knew nothing about until she took him to St. Mungo's and discovered he had HIV and would need regular treatment. It was Luca who told his mother that Dad was tkaing Corinth to work with him. When the experiment didn't work, and August was left with a Squib for a son, he began drinking. He got beligerant and abusive towards his wife and sons, and he eventually walked out on them, unable to bear the shame of a Squib and believed it to be his wife's fault. Sierra was planning on leaving him soon regardless, and she filed a report against him. A year later, August was in prison and Sierra moved the boys to the Banffshire Coast in Scotland. Corinth started at Banff Academy when he was 11 years old and has been attending the Academy for the last three years while visiting Luca on Hogsmeade weekends with his mother.

He felt appreciation towards Camden and Percival who were respectable criminals, and likely some of the most dignified people in the room. Both men spoke with eloquence, and he was certain it was Camden's age that commanded the room more than anything else. His eyes narrowed in on Grayson Tristen cooly. "And what have you done for us, Tristen? Because unless someone here has a better plan..." Dean eyed the room. Thus far, no one had spoken about any solid plans while they discussed what needed to be done.
"Besides, you forget that I'm the Deputy Headmaster of Hogwarts. You forget that while Percival might not know his son, I have been teaching Gemini for the last seven years. And it was I who gathered all of you here, I who orchestrated their release, and it was I who sent Colton Hayes to protest the Ministry..." He didn't want to sound cocky but with so many people questioning his plan, Dean was in the mood to shut them all up.
"As Mr. McPhee has already said, we cannot act until we know where the registry is and how to obtain it. Percival's son is the Senior Undersecretary's Intern. Our other informant is a close, personal friend of Nathaniel, should he think at any point we need extreme measures against Gemini, he will let us know. Once they have the information we need, we'll be able to move forward with our plan."
Dean took out his wand and began writing in mid-air. A detailed plan came to light in smokey letters. "Team One will be responsible for acquiring the Registry. There will be three other teams formed to keep whatever Ministry Officials still on the premises busy. One in the Atrium. One in the Department of Law Enforcement. One in the Department of Mysteries. However, we need the information first otherwise this plan will fail. We cannot go in blindly. I suggest, for now, you lot think about what you have to offer me that will aid in the success of us obtaining the registry. And, if no one has anything else to add, this meeting is adjourned."
