Basic History: (min. 100 words)

On a cool, rainy night in July, Tia Monroe was born, but she was not born Tia Monroe. She was never given a name, and was born in the back of a van. Tia's parents lived life off the grid. They travelled, wandered, were gypsies of the modern world, and in hiding which no one would ever discover what for. They dropped Tia off at the nearest hospital, and there she remained for longer than most children due to a congenital heart condition which required medical intervention and surgery. The doctor who performed the surgery eventually adopted the infant.

Tia was given a name, and brought home to the tiny Bryher Island when she was six months old. She would meet a loving Grandmother who baked the best cookies and ran a bakery, a delightful Uncle Jay who doted on her, and her Mum, Dr. Andrea Monroe. Life was great. The island housed less than a hundred people and Tia grew up being a bit of a circle in a square pen. She stood out. She was the only black girl on a white island. Tia didn't care because she loved her home even when it became more and more clear that she was more than just the only black girl on the Island.

Tia developed her powers around nine years old when she levitated a kid off the roof of the barn that was about to fall down. It was more of a screaming fest than anything but somehow the kid didn't get hurt and claims he felt light as air!

She received a letter from Hogwarts a few years later and was as clueless as any muggleborn would have been but simply amazed to learn that magic was real! Tia is now on her way to hopefully having a grand adventure and maybe even discovering her past.

Why she was cursing was beyond him but he did like a woman with a potty mouth as much as he liked a woman who was refined and had manners. It all depended on what kind of tumble he was interested in. Too bad he wasn’t interested in a tumble right now. Maybe later, when he won the bake-off. Maybe he could distract her with some flirting and seduction but he knew it would only distract himself to the point he would be interested in taking her for a tumble.

“Well, damn,” he frowned. She had no shortening. He walked to the fridge and cupboards looking through each one to see what else she had. “Lard?” It was a long shot. The average kitchen did not have lard in it. He opened a cupboard and found some vegetable oil. That would work. Dean took it out, already behind her in the bake-off because he didn’t know where anything was in her kitchen. At least he had a shortening substitute. Now, what was the conversion?

Dean began measuring ingredients slowly. He did usually work off a recipe card even though he had most of his regulars memorized. He liked the card for reference in case he became distracted. “Baker-y-ing? Really?” He laughed with a shake of his head. “My aunt started teaching me when I was old enough to see over the counter, so like, eight. I hated being at home, and none of my cousins really took a shine to it—damn.” He spilled some of the oil onto the counter. They say the best cooks and bakers were the messy ones.

“Have you always wanted to run a bed and breakfast?”
