16 12 SEPTEMBER 2004 STUDENT 5TH YEAR SLYTHERIN HALF-BLOOD HANOVER, BRIGHTON, SOUTH ENGLAND | PERSONALITY: Odette has always been someone that believes she could do anything on her own. Whenever someone tells her she can't do something, the girl sees it as a challenge and will try to prove them wrong. At the same time, she can seem a little conceited about things she's good at like Potions, Transfiguration, and Dueling. It almost comes naturally to her, but Odette still continues to work hard in school and her abilities to make them seem as effortless as she can make them appear. This girl knows she beautiful, and if she needs to use a little manipulation to get what she wants, Odette will do what she needs to do to succeed. The thing is, she never really puts an effort into keeping up her appearance. She's not a veela, but sometimes it feels like her natural beauty allures people just as much as a veela could. Naturally, underneath everything, Odette could be a compassionate and generous person, but it takes time to get to that point in any relationship with her. While she was spoiled by her parents for most of her life being the only girl in the family, and becoming the family's little princess, she hasn't felt the same love coming come her oldest brother. Perhaps he did love her just as much as their parents, but he was always so distant with her, which made Odette believe that she she had to learn to rely on herself and only herself to get things done. When you first meet her, Odette could be rather cold and distant with you. It will take her some time to open up to you, but she will do what she believes is best for you without needing the acknowledgement she's been seeking from Andrew all her life. Snarky, rude, and constantly ready to put up a fight to prove that she really is as powerful and brave as she believes she is, but add the resourcefulness and sly traits of a typical Slytherin and there's almost nothing you can attempt to pull on her that she won't find some way to repay you, whether it's good or bad. Better not try to test your luck. ASPIRATION: The name Odette means wealthy and rich. Her family comes from a middle class status, but she would like to make it big enough to rise in ranks enough to make her family proud. Perhaps this will be the way the girl will command the love and attention she wants from her oldest brother? However, she's still a student so she can't really think that far ahead in her life just yet. For now, Odette will continue to strive to have the best marks in her classes so that she could choose whatever career she would like to have in the future. Another short term goal Odette has is to find that fairytale ending that his oldest brother seems to have found with his Hufflepuff. She can be a little challenging to get along with most of the time, and once her trust is broken, she will make you work for it from the bottom up. Odette can only hope that one day there would be someone in this world that might actually stop to take the time to get to know her and perhaps become even more in her life. | LIKES: - Andrew Douglas: Her eldest brother might've never shown her the love she wanted when she was younger, but somehow he'd become her role model in life. Odette looks up to him more than anyone else in the family to find her way in life, but if you were to ever ask her, she would deny it. - Friends: Odette struggles to make friends with her challenging personality, so the people that have become her friends, are the people she will cherish forever. She will go through hell and high waters to protect them and keep them out of harm's way whenever she can, stand up for them, and make those that torment her friends pay for what they did. - Dueling: Odette might not be the best dueler in the school, she's only a fifth year, but she is aiming to be one of the best duelers in her year. She's willing to do almost anything to prove that she's the best especially in this skill. Maybe if she was good enough at something, she could become a Hit Wizard or someone that could use this skill in the future and jump from being middle class to the elite social class? - Gifts: Though it may not seem like it because Odette can come off as rude and cold with people, at first, she does enjoy getting flowers or any little gifts. Now, if this gift exchange leaves her heartbroken because boys are a pain in the butt, she will not let them forget what they did to her. - Trust and Honesty: Two traits that Odette values in people, she will never treat you the same way after you've broken her trust. Not only that, but she will make you for long and hard to regain any smidgen of her trust that you might manage to salvage in the time you're trying to earn her trust back. DISLIKES: - Betrayal: Don't bother trying to show your face in front of her if you betray her. If she decides to give you a second chance to regain her trust, you will struggle more than you've ever had to struggle to get back to where you were, if you could get back there at all. - Being Threatened: Odette is a low key bully in her own way if she has to be to make sure that her point is made. If she's threatened or someone she cares about is being threatened, she will not back down until she has put you in your place. Usually deciding to take a more subtle approach so that she's never caught in the act, but that doesn't mean that what does won't torment you. - Purists: "Please, you can't tell me you're better just because you're a pureblood. We all know that your family was either inbred with each other to keep the purity or there was some break at some point in your lineage." Odette hates people that believe their "pureblood" makes them more than other people. She personally believes that she is one of the strongest people to deal with, and she isn't a prissy little pureblood. - Animal Cruelty: Odette might not be a bubbly, sweet, caring person to most people upon their first couple interactions, but she loves animals. She can't stand animal cruelty, and that extends to magical creatures and muggle animals all the same. She hopes that someday in the future people will understand that animals all have feeling just like people and they should all be treated with love and care. - People Beating around the Bush: Odette is a straightforward person, she will tell you exactly what she means and she expects the same from everyone else. She believes that people that beat around the bush are just trying to waste her time, and she would much rather just walk away or quite literally tell them to shut up. She has much better things to than stand or sit there listened to babbling. |

CHILDHOOD. | Odette Victoria Douglas was born on 12 September 2004 as the youngest and only daughter to Brian and Maria Douglas. As the only girl, Odette was doted on by her parents from the moment she was born, bathed in the light and spotlight that caused her to become conceited around her peers. From a very young age, the girl realized he oldest brother didn't give her the attention and love she craved from her family, and it soon became her reason to try to do her best at everything. Even as a child, Odette was usually found attempting to do activities that were above her expectations, but even then when she struggled, she wouldn't ask for help. She had to prove herself to Andrew to gain the love she thought she lacked all those years as a little girl. What was she supposed to do to get his attention? Nothing seemed to be working. Not even, her first bout of magic, when Odette managed to shatter almost all the glass in the room she was standing in out of frustration caused her oldest brother to look at her any different. The girl was beginning to think he might not really care about her at all, and Odette finally decided that she didn't need a boy in her life. Boys made things far too complicated, and she didn't have the patience to deal with them, especially not in her younger years when everything was meant to be fun and going at high speeds for her. Odette remembered those summers were their parents would take them to the her muggle grandparents' house to spend more time around the muggle community. She loved every aspect of the world she was slowly learning more and more about with each visit to their grandparents, and there was a time where the young girl never wanted to leave their house. It was almost time for Andrew to leave for his first term at Hogwarts, and Odette couldn't care to admit she would miss not having her oldest brother around, even if he was distant with her. From around the age of eight, the girl realized just how much she looked up to her older brother, and now that he was leaving, she was a little lost. When the other brother left the house, Odette couldn't say she felt the same fear or feeling of being lost as she did when Andrew left. Then, it was just her alone at home with her parents, and Odette learned how to live on her own for the most part. When she finally received her own Hogwarts letter, she was ready to finally attend the same school as her brothers. They were finally back together, and she wasn't about to let that time go to waste. She'd prove herself in Hogwarts and perhaps even gain Andrew's attention for being the best student in her year. (485) |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Odette was ready for this step, she'd heard so many stories about the sorting ceremony from her parents and her older brothers that she wasn't the least bit nervous when her name was called. She walked up to the stool with her head held high, and the hat barely touched the top of her head before to screamed out: SLYTHERIN! The young girl smiled and walked straight for the table that housed the Slytherins, the same house Andrew was a part of, but she wasn't going to sit with him. This was the best night of her life, and she wasn't going to let his distance affect her. Her first year continued rather uneventfully as she learned no spells and found her passion for dueling. It was when her second year began that weird things began to happen. Students and staff members alike were going missing without a trace, and Odette was beginning to get a little fearful that she was the next one to go missing, but there was one piece of the puzzle that she didn't fit into. She wasn't a muggleborn. Then again, there were students that had been captured that weren't muggleborn either, but they had some special abilities, like those that disappeared once a month that were lycanthropes. So, not only were muggleborns going missing but the school's resident magical creatures and those with rare abilities. She couldn't believe what was happening, but the purism wasn't something she wanted to be a part of at any point in her life. Her next couple of years went by rather uneventful except for the occasional killings and attacks that were happening . Again, it almost seemed like the people that were being targeted were people that weren't purebloods. What was she supposed to do? This time, it seemed like half-blood people weren't being spared, since their Defense Against the Dark Arts teaching assistant got attacked over the summer. Very weird things began happening, and Odette was again living in fear that she might be the next one on the list. However, that didn't stop her from focusing on her studies enough to keep up with her marks. Actually, it was more like the girl had thrown herself into her studies to relieve herself of the fear that bubbled inside of her. Now, entering her fifth year, Odette didn't see anything out of the ordinary that could cause another problem in the wizarding community. She hoped that things would continue to be calm throughout the whole year. She was focusing on her studies a lot more now that Andrew had graduated, and she still had a lot to prove to him to gain his affections. Now that she could see the way he treated the Hufflepuff girl he seemed to hanging around a lot towards the end of her fourth year, she knew he could love her too. She just needed to work for it, and perhaps find someone to like, like he did? (497) |
