HARRY JAMES, POTTER
40 July 31, 1980 HEAD AUROR GRYFFINDOR HALF-BLOOD DEVON, ENGLAND | PERSONALITY: Harry Potter, as a teenager, is brave, loyal, and deeply compassionate, though often burdened by the weight of his responsibilities. His defining trait is courage, as seen in his repeated willingness to face danger head-on, whether battling Voldemort, standing up to bullies, or defending his friends. He has a strong moral compass and feels an obligation to protect those he cares about, even when it puts his own life at risk. Despite his heroism, Harry is not without flaws. As a teenager, he is often impulsive and prone to anger, particularly when he feels misunderstood or treated unfairly, like his frustrations with the adults in his life for withholding information. Harry is also driven by a strong sense of justice, which can make him stubborn, sometimes refusing to follow authority if he feels it's wrong. His experience of growing up as an orphan with abusive relatives makes him yearn for belonging, and this manifests in his deep bonds with Hermione, Ron, and later, the Weasley family. Harry's resilience is remarkable; even after facing great personal loss, he remains hopeful and determined to fight for what is right. As an adult, Harry matures into a more level-headed and thoughtful individual. He remains courageous and selfless, but with greater wisdom and patience. His experiences during the Second Wizarding War shape him into a more introspective and empathetic figure. He balances his role as a father and husband with his career as an Auror, dedicating his life to preventing the rise of dark forces. Harry’s moral integrity remains unshaken, and he continues to value loyalty and friendship, but with less of the impulsiveness of his youth. His post-war life is marked by a desire to ensure that future generations do not face the same dangers he did. Though he's still burdened by the trauma of his past, particularly the losses of loved ones, Harry does not let this define him. Instead, he uses his experiences to guide his actions as a protector and father. He grows into a calm, steady presence, offering guidance to the next generation while ensuring his children, particularly Albus, are given the freedom to forge their own paths. In both his teenage years and adulthood, Harry's defining qualities are his bravery, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to doing what is right, tempered by the wisdom and patience he gains through his trials. ASPIRATION: Though Harry already sees himself as an old and accomplished wizard who had done in three decades what other wizards hadn't done in their entire life time, (Destroy the most powerful Dark Wizard in history, become the Master of Death, fulfill a prophecy that might have saved the world as we know it) there is still a lingering feeling of wanting to do what he can before the new blood take over. Harry, aside from wanting to see his children live good, fulfilling lives, now wants to make a lasting change in the Ministry, by working within the system to overhaul a Ministerial system that victimized not only him, by hundreds of people because of prejudice. He's thinking of starting this by applying for his old post as Head of the Auror Office, in order to make actionable changes within the department. | LIKES: - Quidditch: Youngest Seeker of the Gryffindor House in Centuries and married to one of the Holyhead Harpy's player. Is there any doubt Harry would not like Quidditch? - Spending time with his family and friends: Being raised in an environment that's not conducive to filial love, Harry values quality time with Family and Friends, understanding the fleeting nature of time and how one can perish in a flash, he insists on keeping his family tight knit and close to one another. - Defense Against the Dark Arts: From his young age, Harry had shown an uncanny skill at Defense Against the Dark Arts, indeed, one can make the argument that aside from Love, this is what helped him save the entire world from Voldemort. Little wonder this persisted to his adulthood, seeing as he works as an Auror who constantly has to display great skill at Defense Against the Dark Arts. - Auror Work: To no one's surprise, the Boy Who Lived thrived at being an Auror, enjoying the satisfaction of knowing that he's making the world a better place with each Dark Wizard he helps put behind bars in Azkaban. - Leadership: Though hesitant in his childhood, having to lead Dumbledore's Army and being the lynch pin in the resistance against Lord Voldemort, not to mention taking a leading role in hunting down the remnants of his Death Eaters after his demise had made Harry comfortable with the idea of leadership. Right now, Harry thrives in positions of leadership and doesn't shy away from responsibilities. DISLIKES: - Dark Arts: Given that he spent half of his life being hunted down by people who are synonymous with the practice of the Dark Arts, and given the fact that he's an auror, Harry isn't at all keen with anyone who expresses an interest in the Dark Arts, and is firmly against this type of magic. - Dementors: Even in his adult age, Harry still has the primal fear of Dementors (Or fear itself) and seeing these foul creatures still trigger a primal fear and hate in him as much as it did when he was younger. - Blood Supremacy: The Boy Who Lived, a Half Blood Wizard, was friends with a Pureblooded Wizard who's a proud blood traitor, and the brightest witch of her generation, a muggleborn. He has personally seen what that destructive ideology has done to the world and to good people, and so he's definitely not a fan of the ideology nor the people who espouse it. - Political Corruption: Given his experience with Cornelius Fudge, and of course, Umbridge, Harry had a deep seated dislike for Ministry Workers who use the bureaucracy of the Ministry to further their own agendas. And given that he's now working as an Auror, Harry does everything he can to make sure no one who's a borderline obstructive careerist gets close to a position in the Ministry. -Bullies: Harry, due to his experience with Draco Malfoy in his youth continues to dislike those who use their perceived higher station or better skills to harm other people weaker than them. Even to this day, Harry dislikes the idea of his children having to deal with bullies at Hogwarts. |
FAMILY MEMBERS. | Mother: Lily Potter nee Evans (Deceased) Father: James Potter (Deceased) Spouse: Ginevra Potter nee Weasley (Alive) Children: James S. Potter - Eldest Son Albus Potter - Second Son Lily Potter - Only Daughter |
CHILDHOOD | Harry James Potter was born to Lily Potters nee Evans and James Potter on July 31, 1980, and nothing was the same since. His infancy was marked by tragedy, with Lord Voldemort fulfilling the prophecy meant to lead to his death by butchering both of his parents, (Who were betrayed by their close friend, Peter Pettigrew) and attempting to kill him first. But of course, this attempt failed as the Killing Curse rebounded because of his mother's Sacrificial Protection, only managing to scar him, giving him his signature, lightning bolt scar that had been used to identify him all throughout his life. Of course, given the fact that his mother's protection could only last as long as he stays with a blood relative, Dumbledore delivered the young boy to the doorsteps of Petunia Dursley, Lily Evans' sister and his last remaining blood relative. And Harry Potter, supposed to be loved and cherished by the best wizard of that generation instead had to suffer through a miserable childhood. Systematically abused, both physically and emotionally by the Dursleys, Harry practically grew up destitute, with little knowledge about his actual parentage. The Dursleys, priding themselves in being a "normal," family resented Harry for his magic, and whenever something "out of the ordinary," occurred, the Dursleys devised cruel punishments, perhaps in a misguided attempt to stifle his magic. This included punishments like neglecting to feed Harry, as well as locking him in a cupboard. Of course, magic is rarely ever so simple and unusual things kept happening around Harry, such as him freeing a snake from the Zoo, (and speaking to it.) And changing the color of his teacher's wig to blue. And indeed, it was impossible to stop the inevitable, as on his eleventh birthday, despite numerous attempts by the Dursleys to curtail it, his Hogwarts' Acceptance Letter arrived, and the man who brought him to the footsteps of the Dursleys, Rubeus Hagrid, fetched him to introduce him to his birthright. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Harry Potter's School life is marked by great adventure and literally shaped the entire wizarding world. During his first year, he became friends with Ronald Billius Weasley, as well as Hermione Jean Granger, starting a solid friendship that wizards all around Britain owe their lives and freedom to. It's also within this year that he managed to foil Lord Voldemort's attempts to grasp at immortality by saving the Philosopher's Stone from Quirinus Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor whose body was possessed by Lord Voldemort in order to start his nefarious plot. During his second year, the Chamber of Secrets was opened, and he, with help from Fawkes the Phoenix and the timely appearance of Godric the Gryffindor's Sword, managed to slay the first ever Basilisk seen in Britain in centuries, saving his brother's youngest sister, Ginny Weasley (His future wife) and again preventing Lord Voldemort's revival by destroying his diary, which, unbeknownst to him them was one of the seven horcruxes willingly created by Tom Riddle. His third year was marred with the first ever breakout in Azkaban, when Sirius Black managed to escape unaided. The world, including Dumbledore, wrongly believed that Sirius Black was the one who betrayed the Potters, and is looking to rally his fellow Death Eaters as well as kill Harry Potter. Of course, it was eventually revealed by both Sirius Black and Remus Lupin (The then DADA Professor) that it was actually Peter Pettigrew who betrayed his parents, and he's been masquerading as the Weasley's pet rat Scabbers. His fourth year was the year of the Triwizard Tournament, where a disguised Bartemius Crouch Jr concocted a plot that had Harry chosen by the Goblet of Fire to be Hogwarts' fourth champion despite being underaged, in order to lure him to Little Hangleton, where his flesh and blood was used by Pettigrew in a Dark Ritual that gave Lord Voldemort his body and full powers back, leading to his second rising. His fifth year was when Harry started Dumbledore's Army as a response to the Ministry's totalitarian hold on Hogwarts after Cornelius Fudge stubbornly refused to believe the truth of Voldemort's return. Harry bravely stepped up to teach the other students practical skills that they can use in the fight against the Death Eaters. His sixth year was the year in which the Ministry finally made attempts to curtail Voldemort, after his return became public knowledge, and the year he learned about Horcruxes, and also when his long time mentor and protector, Albus Dumbledore, died. And his final year at Hogwarts was spent hunting down Voldemort's Horcruxes, as well as ending him in the climactic and historical battle of Hogwarts, where he fulfilled the prophecy of being the Chosen One by willingly embracing Death, killing the accidental eight Horcrux made by Voldemort inside of him, and allowing Voldemort's own death. |
ADULTHOOD. | Harry Potter's adulthood was during the period the Ministry rebuilt. Instead of coming back for his last year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter instead went on to become an Auror, given Kingsley Shacklebolt's wise decision to allow everyone who survived the Battle of Hogwarts entry into the Auror Program. He spent his late teenage years training on the field to become a fully pledged Auror, hunting down the remnants of the Death Eaters, (Or at least trying to) while also living the rest of his life, unencumbered by the prophecy he fulfilled. He married Ginny Weasley and eventually had three beautiful kids with them, all of whom he loves with all of his heart. He also worked tirelessly to give them the life and childhood he never got to have, moving his family to a comfortable house in Devon, England, and continuously used his influence and skills to help reform the Auror's Office. And while he was never ambitious in the careerist sense, Harry's dissatisfaction with the bloat of the Ministry's bureaucracy only fueled this new desire of his. (Though some whisper it's born of a need to become relevant again after new wizards started to take centre stage in the wizarding world.) He's still tirelessly toiling in the Auror's office, and the recent fiasco with Creature Regulations as well as the savaging of one of his co-aurors brought a burning desire in Harry to once again do the right thing and step up to right the wrongs before finally passing off a world he can be proud of to the new generation. |

RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
Fall was around the corner, and Ethan just loved the season. It felt comforting in a way, he didn't exactly have a logical explanation as to why, but leaves falling, pumpkins growing, the Forbidden Forest looking even more ominous...it just spoke to him in a sense, and Ethan was sure to enjoy the festivities.
Though he was alone, seeing as not one of his cousins were available, Ethan didn't seem to mind being able to spend some alone time. But it seems that Ethan picked a different haunt this time. The corn maze. Seeing how difficult it was, Ethan took it as a challenge to be able to clear the maze in under an hour, alone, without anyone helping him.
Of course, that was quickly looking to be impossible, considering how utterly lost the Slytherin was in the middle of the field.
His head was swiveling around and about, trying to find the path that would lead to the exit, a focused look on his face. It seemed hopeless, however, as Ethan already went through this place for the third time. Of course, the Prince, as much as he believed himself to be above pettiness, was still quite proud, and he was arrogant enough to believe he could go through this maze perfectly if only he could get another shot...
But as he spun on his feet, facing another path he thinks he hasn't gone through yet, Ethan walked towards it like a man on a mission, his hair flying behind him as he went down the path....
And he nearly doubled over when someone blocked his way.
Normally, Ethan was the sort of person to arch a brow or imperiously ask a person to watch their way if it seemed they were deliberately doing it. But the one who blocked him, which, aside from being an attractive young woman, looked like she was actively looking for him. Ethan had enough experience with people wanting to hunt him down, or being on the other end himself that he knew when a person was trying to find you with effort.
It didn't help that she was...diminutive, in size. A contrast to his tall and rigid frame. Memories of students desperately trying to keep pace with Lu Miaoyu, another small woman's demonic agility during Dueling Training at Defense Against the Dark Arts flashed in his head, and Ethan had to shake it off to pay attention to her?
"...Hello?" He spoke softly, and the way she eyed him, up and down, like she was critiquing him made Ethan feel vulnerable, which was odd. He wasn't the sort to be intimidated by those sorts of displays, usually, but he found himself involuntarily shifting from foot to foot, trying not to look uncomfortable under her gaze.
And then, she hit him with the information.
How could he be so stupid? Of course, it all made sense now. He recognized her, he knew she was a transferee, and it only made sense that she'd approach him a quarter into the term, when she already had enough time to observe him during their shared classes. A smart woman, really. She didn't give him the time to prepare or put his best foot forward by deliberately observing him from the shadows, (Or so that's what he wants to believe.)
And now here he was, looking like a stag caught in a muggle car's lights, looking lost and stupid in the middle of the field.
"....Oh." He answered, voice still soft. "I'm...yes. I'm Prince, Ethan Prince." He gingerly extended a hand towards her. "Apologies, I would have tried to find you earlier but...uh, crazy term. Quidditch, internship, extra curriculars, studies...preparing for NEWTs..." Ethan listed it off, his voice starting to sound a bit strained. "I'm sorry, you caught me at a disadvantageous position. I didn't expect to meet you...here. I thought you'd like it better if we met, I don't know, in some place at Hogsmeade?"
It was highly irregular, but from what he could tell, it did seem like a willing attempt on her end to ambush him. He had to commend her for that, though. "So, uh...how's your parents..?" He was obviously utterly failing this.
