ELEVEN 28/02/2009 STUDENT HOGWARTS / HUFFLEPUFF / FIRST HALF-BLOOD HOGWARTS
| PERSONALITY:
Phoebe is a gentle, shy and loving girl. She is often quite a wallflower and tends to stick to the sidelines. Despite this, she doesn't like being alone. She thrives on being surrounded by people who coax her out of her shell. In that way, she can be described as an extrovert. She can be quite insecure and anxious when she doesn't have her friends around. She thrives on the company of others even if she does not have much to contribute herself. Phoebe is quite intelligent for her age, though by no means gifted. She is a big fan of theory based subjects and can often be found with her head in a book.
ASPIRATION:
In the long term, Phoebe has not quite made her mind up yet with who or what she wants to be. She loves the idea of healing, but wouldn't be totally sure where to start. At the moment, all she wants to do is make her family proud. She is the only child and the apple of their eye. There is simply nothing more important to her. | LIKES:
- Gardening with her dad and learning all about plants.
- Going for afternoon tea with her mum.
- Making paper crafts, particularly paper dolls.
- Fashion design.
- Fluffy pyjamas.
DISLIKES:
- Toads.
- Spiders.
- Loud boys.
- Cooking.
- Quidditch. |
FAMILY MEMBERS. | Neville Longbottom (father) - 37, pureblood - working in a Herbology shop in Diagon Alley.
Hannah Longbottom (née Abbott) (mother) - 37, half-blood - freelance journalist.
Frank & Alice Longbottom (grandparents) - mid sixties, pureblood, institutionalised. |
CHILDHOOD. | Phoebe was a post-war baby, born to Neville and Hannah Longbottom on a crisp February day in 2013. From the moment Neville discovered Hannah's pregnancy, he had been in love with Phoebe. To the couple, she represented hope and joy, a new beginning. With some money from his Gringotts vault and post-war compensation, Neville purchased the family's first home for them to grow up in together. It was a simple, slightly outdated cottage by the sea. It was everything they had dreamt of.
Her father had flashbacks to the war for the first few years of his life, and so they often spent time at home. This was not much of an issue for Phoebe. She loved drawing her dad pictures to cheer him up, and planting flowers with him to help keep him calm.
Her mother was a little more thick skinned, and often kept Phoebe away from the worst of the mental anguish. Hannah and Phoebe were best friends for the entire 11 years pre-Hogwarts. They would have sleepovers, go on shopping sprees and renovate the family "Forever home" together. Phoebe's painted handprints take pride of place on the family mailbox.
The crowning moment and one of the proudest of Phoebe's childhood was the day she received her Hogwarts acceptance letter. Her parents were over the moon and beyond supportive. They commemorated the occasion with a visit to her grandparents in St. Mungos. They did not quite comprehend the importance, but Phoebe was given several Quality Street sweet wrappers to celebrate.
Soon after this, it was time for Phoebe to move into her first year. She started her Hogwarts journey with a beautiful barn owl named Rosemary. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Phoebe was sorted into Hufflepuff, much like her mother Hannah. She found it difficult to fully adjust to her first year, often feeling homesick and anxious. She was in frequent contact with her parents, writing a letter every week. The regular contact gave her a welcome sense of familiarity. Phoebe started to make a small group of friends and loved practical based subjects such as Divination and Herbology.

Special Situations
Not applicable. Phoebe can be prone to anxiety and low self-esteem, but this is at a level where it can be controlled. It is likely just a lack of confidence and the struggles of being a teenager.
Phoebe requires no additional considerations for this.
RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
Her father was having a bad day again. When Phoebe woke up, he was still in bed. This was pretty common for a bad day. He normally seemed to perk up when she was around. She shuffled across the landing in her bright pink bunny slippers. She knocked on her parents' bedroom door and received a muffled response.
"Yes, babygirl? Come in." Neville called out.
Phoebe made her way over to the bed and sat beside him. She laid down and curled up, feeling his arms slowly wrap around her.
"Daddy, I was just thinking... can we plant some sunflowers today?" she whispered, shortly before rolling over and giving him a little smile.
"I think that would be a good idea, sweetie. Shall we go and get ready?" he replied. Neville shuffled around and sat on the edge of the bed.
Phoebe didn't need to be asked twice. She immediately scurried across the landing and into her bedroom. She put her favourite clothes on, and a pair of dragonhide gloves. Sure, sunflowers were pretty harmless but the gnomes might be on the loose again! She bounced down the stairs, closely followed by her dad (who was wearing his favourite sweatshirt). Phoebe turned the handle the front door with her small, delicate fingers and held it to allow her father through first.
Neville walked straight to one of the flowerbeds... where a leprechaun happened to be lurking! There was a loud shriek from the leprechaun as it began to run into the greenhouse. Phoebe let out a giggle, her father a sigh, and they both reluctantly wandered after the mischevious fae.
