DANIEL WU
25 YEARS OLD JANUARY 1'ST, 1995 FALMOUTH FALCONS BEATER HOGWARTS GRADUATE, FORMER GRYFFINDOR PUREBLOOD LONDON | PERSONALITY: Daniel has always bragged about being a straight A-student. The problem is that it means quite the opposite in the wizardry world. Hardly a scholar… Hardly smart… This guy is the typical jock whose only talent are his muscles, and how to use them to swing a bat while holding on to a broomstick. He knows it very well and has always aimed to be a professional quidditch player. Daniel loves his profession - the fame, the sport - and could not imagine a life without playing. He is big and strong and rarely hesitates to remind you about that. A brave former Gryffindor student who likes to brag and show off his strength. He has a weakness for every pretty girl he lays his eyes on, and even though these said girls might disagree, he sees himself as quite the womanizer. Daniel is practical, simple-minded and likes to have things being told directly to him, otherwise he won’t be able to understand you. He is also easily manipulated, because he is bad at analyzing the true intention behind a person’s words. All in all, your regular dude who is used to relying on the strength of his body rather than his wits. And of course, along with that, he is incapable of producing a patronus. ASPIRATION: Daniel’s aspirations in life are simple. 1. He would like to continue to play quidditch professionally until his very body starts to decompose - or he gets kicked off the team because he is 80 years old and can barely walk. 2. He would like to marry a bombshell of a wife and have 5 kids. 3. He would like to buy a boat… And learn how to sail. If he were to look in the Mirror of Erised he would first think that it shows him his future, but after someone remotely smarter told him that it actually showed him his greatest desire, he would see himself surrounded by kids in all ages, a cute woman wrapping her arms around his neck, a new Kingsley broom and a captain’s hat (to symbolize his boat ownership). The man’s dreams are pure and maybe without greater ambition. The only thing he actually plans for the future is his career in quidditch, other than that, he lives pretty much in the present. But of course, he does have hopes and dreams, and most of them usually consists of some kind of beautiful girlfriend/wife/mistress by his side. | LIKES: - Daily trail running, muscle training and muggle fitness centers - The smell of broom polish, test riding broomsticks and unpacking a new Kingsley broom - Comfy jeans, sweatpants, sneakers, hoodies and tank tops (to show off his muscles, of course) - Tea in all shapes, forms and blends - also in candy (like matcha mochi) - Red roses DISLIKES: - Neat-looking people that seem to be too high maintenance - Coffee and anything that has coffee taste - bleugh! - Pushy sponsors that try to get the most out of his fame - forcing him to be an influencer - Long novels (all genres), but especially history books - he prefers cartoons and mangas - People who still praise Lord Voldemort. Dude is dead, get over it! |
FAMILY MEMBERS. | Mother: Alice Wu - slytherin graduate, ministrty worker in international office of magical law, pureblood, born in 1964 Father: Alfred Wu - slytherin graduate, ministry worker in international magical trading standards, pureblood, born in 1964 Older brother: Elias Wu - oxford university drop-out, student guidance counselor at hogwarts, squib, born in 1990 |
CHILDHOOD. | Born into a family that took much pride in being purebloods, but had their downfall when they got his older brother, Elias, who had turned out to be a squib, Daniel was spoiled. He carried the weight of expectation from day one. He was supposed to become a wizard! He was supposed to make his parents proud, since his brother was incapable of doing so. And the boy did. His magic showed very early, as if it wanted to make a point and put all of their fears and worries to shame. He was also a bulky boy; strong, loud and would rather use force to get what he wanted than wits. Daniel got his first broomstick when he was 3. It could lift his tiny feet up from the ground just a few inches, and if he ran with it, it could fly a bit ahead, before putting him down again. Daniel had always liked sports more than studies. Unlike his brother, who always had his nose buried in a book, Daniel was out climbing trees, building things, exploring, running, getting dirty, getting bruised and so on. He was the one who went through his clothes the fastest, because they always got ruined from his wild activities. His parents didn't care though. They were so happy that they finally had a little wizard in the family, and they didn't even care to hide the favoritizaton of their youngest son. He was their little galleon. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Daniel was fierce, brave and had plenty of friends from the neighborhood. His social nature made him independent and detached from his parents early on, and he didn't even cry a single tear on his first night after arriving at Hogwarts. Alice and Alfred, however, did cry a little bit, feeling that their Slytherin pride was hurt when their only magical son was sorted into Gryffindor instead. But Daniel was truly a Gryffindor at heart. He has always had the qualities of that house, and the old sorting hat barely had to touch his head before it screamed out his house. Even though he was not good in school - only scoring A’s in all of the classes, Daniel was exceptionally good at quidditch. He played the beater for the Gryffindor team throughout all of his school years, and was asked to become a captain on several occasions. But Daniel is not someone who likes leadership very much, so he refused all the time. The only subject he got O's in was of course Advanced Flying. And already in his 6'th year, the young man was scouted to join the Falmouth Falcons after graduation. The boy was loyal to his many friends. He was a part of the popular clique at school, and people knew him as the beater. No one really cared about his lack of wits, because he shined out on the field and brought lots of points for their house. His popularity allowed him to go through girlfriends almost as fast as you changed underwear. He always had a new date for the ball or was caught kissing in a broom closet. His relationships were all fleeting, though. Daniel had a habit of straying. He just couldn't resist a wink or a flirt, even if he was in a relationship. |
ADULTHOOD. | Daniel barely had to lift a finger to get his job secured after graduation. His N.E.W.T.s did not peak, and he felt restless during the last year of school. He barely passed in many of his classes, because his mind was already too focused on his career as a professional player. He trained every day, started to cut contacts with romantic interests that were aiming for employment in the Ministry of Magic, so that he could focus solemnly on the sport. He did work hard, just not on his exams. Joining the Falmouth Falcons was the best that has ever happened in his life - and strangely, it was much to his parents’ dismay. After all, they had both high positions in the Ministry of Magic, and they had always urged their son to pursue the same path as them - never seeing the sport as an actual profession. But Daniel has never cared about what his parents felt or wanted for him. In fact, as much as he loved them, he felt quite detached from their behavior, because they were typical Slytherins. There were often clashes at the dinner table, where his older brother barely dared to speak up, and Daniel practically screamed at their mum and dad - almost always resulting in him storming off, leaving Elias there to clear the tense atmosphere. Daniel is a fierce beater. Strong, muscular, fast and ruthless on a professional level. He is very dedicated to quidditch and loves everything about his fame. Even the pushy fans. Of course, there are a few aspects that annoy him, but it is always worth it. He has made good money the many years he has played, and also a bit of a name for himself. He does not really lack anything in life, and sees himself as a very fortunate guy. His only problem is that he tends to fall too easily in love, and is too easily manipulated by dangerous women. Sadly, his wits are not as good as his swing of the bat. |

RP SAMPLE (200 words min.)
The best way to describe Otis Grimstone is by placing him next to a statue and ask a stranger to find 5 differences. It would be a task for the most intelligent minds of all, because the boy definitely looked like one. With the exact same expression as he usually held without even a smirk or a frown to ruin the symmetry of his otherwise handsome face, this particular pureblood made his way to Hogsmeade. His attire was fine, and never out of place. Even for a weekend like today, it was not hard to see his social standing.
Raven black hair neatly slick to one side, piercing blue eyes staring ahead of him, porcelain pale skin and a silver ring that resembled an acromantula with sapphire eyes shining in in the dim sun that usually illuminated the sky during March. Otis liked March. It was cold, wet, and windy. Very fitting to his own strange personality that was usually hidden behind a very calm attitude.
Stepping inside the Three Broomstick, the young man scanned the bar for a moment, before his gaze landed on someone unfamiliar who looked about his age. “Do you have anything new and good to drink?” He asked the boy as he walked up to him with an almost glare as an elegant hand placed on the counter of the bar. “And nothing with too much alcohol in it.” Tilting his head, he studied the boy for a moment, before a hint of a grimace that wrinkled his pointy nose flashed on his face. “How old are you anyway?”
