CHARACTER APPLICATION
. . .
CHILDHOOD:
Ichiro comes from the well-off Shimada pureblood family but he's the only child his parents have been blessed with so he's expected to be great and magnificent. He was born in Osaka, Japan and has grown up there for the majority of his life. Ichiro always enjoyed the bustle of the tourist attraction spots, but also the politeness of the people around him. Surprisingly muggles weren't so bad. Regular muggle school seemed to be rather tough honestly, blaming it on the crazy hours mostly. He enjoyed going to muggle school though until he was of the right age to join Mahoutokoro, a magical school close to Japan. Something Ichiro always loved was coming to any of the nearby shrines and temples, making it his own thing to pray at these almost religiously from a young age. He didn't go to any school as he'd be joining Mahoutokoro when turning seven. Prior to this, he was taught basic things at home though like reading, writing, the pureblood ways etc. They don't particularly care for the specific ways of the purebloods but it was still a necessary thing to be taught and keep in mind. Don't bring shame to the family and don't forget you're a Shimada.
SCHOOL YEARS:
FIRST-YEAR: Age 7-8
Ichiro's first year was quite interesting if he can say so himself. There were many magic basics to be learned, definitely not immediately getting to magic casting but learning the many rules of the school, teachers and the wizarding world. There were few spells he was taught, kept to the most basic and harmless of spells to help them keep their rooms tidy and their desks clean. Very mundane but interesting enough. Every day he'd go back home again, not old enough to stay.
SECOND YEAR: Age 8-9
Ichiro's second year wasn't much more interesting than the last. He was always told to carry himself proudly and not shame the Shimada name. No, he didn't have any intention on doing so. The days were long and a bit tedious for a child his age, feeling like he was being drilled for something crazy. Learning didn't come too overly easy to him as he didn't enjoy it that much. Things went generally in the right direction though. Still went back home every day as was mandatory.
THIRD YEAR: Age 9-10
Third year meant that he still wasn't old enough to stay at school. It was a bit of a hassle, considering he had to be picked up or sent home every single day. Magic made things easier but it didn't magically awake him in the morning. School and study hours were too long and he began to loathe all the theory lessons. Even actual practice was a bit annoying but he went through with it. Not that the boy had much choice. Upkeeping a pureblood reputation and class reputation was kind of cut-throat. With little choice he pushed through all the basic studies, slowly moving up the grade chain. Not that grades were so important, yet.
FOURTH YEAR: Age 10-11
Finally! He was allowed to stay in a dorm as soon as he turned eleven, which was in January. Ever since that moment Ichirö was able to live at Mahoutokoro which meant it was time to explore properly! Now with some freedom to his name and age the boy could finally relax a bit. He didn't have to come home to his parents everyday and tell them what he learned, or what they talked about at school. Not that it stopped them from asking through other ways.
FIFTH YEAR: Age 11-12
Ichiro started looking into random books to find new information. Anything new, even far ahead of his year, was of simple interest and consideration. There were many topics he was yet to learn about, reading some of those books. The topics mostly containted transfiguration, potions and ancient history.
SIXTH YEAR: Age 12-13
This year he was told that he should prepare to become a more well-mannered boy, a pureblood of status. Yes, even if his parents didn't religiously follow their family's rule, they did want him to become a proper, well-bred man in the future. Naturally, Ichiro kind of fought against the idea, expressing he had no interest of marrying anyone ever. The boy was too young to care about girls, let alone think of marrying some random person. No, he wished to serve the family differently: dragons! It's no secret that the Shimada family is all about dragons after all.
SEVENTH YEAR: Age 13-14
Ichiro's seventh year meant that his parents both, seperately, started planting ideas in his head on what he should do. Naturally they also fought with each other at the dinner table about what was better for their son. Only a few ideas had stuck in his head, wondering if he should've just picked up playing Quidditch instead and become an attempted Quidditch star for the Toyohashi Tengus. He liked quidditch but not that much. Every now and then his mother would take him to the Dragon sanctuary and have him witness the magic of dragons. He'd taken up more of reading though, occasionally playing around a bit with quidditch to see if he enjoyed it enough. Turned out he didn't mind playing competitively but it wasn't entirely his thing, ending up quitting the team and remaing a watcher of quidditch instead.
EIGHT YEAR: Age 14-15
In this year he started aiming for a certain Shimada goal: training to become an animagi. Thankfully he wasn't entirely wack at learning or keeping his focus and concentration. Unless a very pretty girl walked by, maybe. Having thrown aside quidditch, and being reminded of the Shimada goals, he began to work for his goal more than just the mandatory studies. He didn't like those as much but figured he should work harder either way. So, step one was to become a much better learner, how to keep his focus and stay concentrated. He spent more time studying than the last couple years, just to train his brain to do something really important.
NINTH YEAR: Age 15- 16
During his ninth year he began to actually start researching on the animagi process. Naturally, as a family with the same skills, he had papers he could take from home. Neither of his parents were actual animagus but they had plenty information to use and read through. Like a family archive to pull from. Ichiro paid a little more attention to girls, even if he didn't intend to. A natural attraction but one that stood in his way. He's not one to whistle and catcall, preferring to quietly catch himself staring. He did get lucky one night but that's where it stopped also.
TENTH YEAR: Age 16-17
In this year he'll be continuing his training for animagi, as well as focusing on graduating from Mahoutokoro and go out into the world.

BASIC INFORMATION
Ichirö SHIMADA 17 JANUARY 8TH, 2001 to-be dragonologist MAHOUTOKORO 10th year PUREBLOOD JAPAN | PERSONALITY: Likes to keep his distance and not get attached to anyone. Not void of emotions or anything it's just a type of fear that lingers. Honestly doesn't mind doing all the work by himself as he's a bit of a loner type. Definitely, someone who needs a solid break every now and again but is a bit of a pushover with himself. Prefers to keep himself busy to stay distracted. LIKES: Dragons. Wide open plains, enjoys the sound and feel of water, spending most of his time at the Shimada dragon sanctuary in Japan. Also loves visiting shrines and cities in Japan, especially festivals. Japan. Using his money for good causes. Helping people if needed. Loves the Onsen. Likes to eat noodles and loves his sake. Doesn't mind a good set of streetfood either! Mostly into dragons but definitely likes foxes for their sleek look and colours. Seafood, oh boy. Occasionally enjoys quidditch as well. DISLIKES: Kind of hates living on his own but is an outsider. Hates noisy people. Not too much into the 'better than you' pureblood type. People with double intentions. Being the only child (different expectations and wishes from both parents, which in turn turns into conflict between all three.) ASPIRATIONS: Start his own dragon sanctuary at some point! Is expected to marry or whatever but is too busy with enjoying life in his own way. He's also expected to jump into the Ministry of Magic, like his dad, but would prefer to work at the dragon sanctuary. |

Heavy rain was falling, and thunder cracking through the skies as a metaphor for something bad about to happen. The ground was muddy and easily able to slip and fall or get stuck in it. Water had soaked her entirely, but not just her. The person who was attempting to run from her was yelling and screaming at the top of her lungs while thunder broke the noise coming from their throat.
Soo-Rin was beyond livid, the long talons sharp and ready to slice through flesh with ease. A screech, another crack of thunder and a flash of lightning, easily locating her runaway target. One had spoken of betrayal. Double betrayal even. None that she was going to report back to anyone ever again. The weather was dreadful but no match for the harpy in flight, unless she'd be struck down by a lightning bolt from above.
The yells continued until the woman slipped. Family members who had been with them in the room were still standing on the porch of the mansion, letting the enraged woman deal with the issue. After all, why get wet in this storm made for a siren's hell when the heiress was the one dealing with it already?
As the woman had slipped in her attempted escape the harpy made a dive down, claws out and ready to attack the helpless, screaming woman. She could feel it coming, the end of her life. It didn't take long for Soo-Rin to strike her sharp claws into the woman first, and then the beak pecking aggressively at the body. The meek attempt to stop the harpy on top of her, practically weighing down the woman, was futile. Talons dug in, the sharp beak ripping the clothes up easily. She'd eat her entirely if she had the appetite for human flesh, but she did not. She was not a werewolf or a vampire.
Not much after, the rain had begun to subside. The thunder stopped, the woman was dead and Soo-Rin lay in her human skin in mud. A lot of it. There was blood, there was water and mud covering her like a nasty bath you'd never wish for. The rage had taken so much out of her, like a blind fury that had no bounds, causing her to pass out entirely. Not only did she look disgusting, but her own clothes had also ripped. Some of the family members came to find her and the result, Soo-Rin laying on top of a mauled-down body, thanks to her own busy body. Another murder, another mystery.
