EIGHTEEN JUNE 29TH INTERN HEALER AT ST. MUNGO'S IlVERMORNY GRADUATE MUGGLEBORN YORK, ENGLAND
| PERSONALITY: Daphne is sunshine. She has a personality that tends to radiate in any room that she enters, finding it easy to make small talk and strike up any conversation. Outgoing, people-oriented, and driven, Daph loves to work hard and succeed. However, she is terrible at just about everything. Awful at charms and enchantments, terrible organization skills, she's always late and incredibly clumsy. Sweet as honey, Daphne would never hurt a fly, in fact, she'd be the one to try and help a fly. Many people find her insufferable optimism annoying, but a fair few see her as refreshing and uplifting.
ASPIRATION: All her life Daphne has dreamed of living abroad and becoming a world class Healer. So far, she's succeeded at moving from the United States over to England, and checked that off her list! After nearly eight months of living in York, she's finally landed an internship at her dream job. St. Mungo's.

CHILDHOOD. | Daphne is the only daughter, and the youngest to muggles Missy and Earl. Raised in the south, she was taught manners, kindness, and to be overly accommodating to others. She showed no real signs of magic until about the age of seven when she accidentally started to flood the house, or break something when she was angry. And not with her hands. At first they assumed there was something seriously wrong and called their local church to help get rid of whatever kind of entity was threatening their home. They came and put out holy water in bowls in the windows, put crosses over the doors, and prayed. Fortunately, Daphne was rarely angry or disgruntled. Not very close to her brother, James spent a lot of time outdoors in the mud and woods and Daphne was in the kitchen with their Ma. She was cooking and making sweet tea by the time she was four years old, and it came very natural to her. When she reached ten years old, a man from Ilvermorny came to visit with her Ma and Pa. Finding out she was a witch was hard for them to come to terms with, especially with their religious beliefs. Daphne found the entire thing thrilling and begged her folks to let her go and study and learn all she could about that part of herself she never knew about. They agreed to let her go on the condition that it be kept a complete secret from everyone. Including her brother. They didn't want word to get back to their community they were living with a witch. It honestly scared them in more ways than one. Nonetheless they loved Daphne enough to take the risk. |
SCHOOL YEARS. | Daphne is a terrible witch. Throughout her years at Ilvermorny she was awful in every subject. Even basic spells were a challenge for her to master. Needless to say, she was not a straight A student by any stretch of the imagination. So instead of focusing on charms and spells, she took to more practical things like helping in the barns with the animals and in the gardens learning about herbs and their properties. She passed with acceptable grades each year, but she never won and praises or awards of excellence. She loved being at the school and being around magic, even if she was no good at it. Daphne would often help her friends study or even set up practice spots for them so she could observe and cheer them on. When she tried to learn how to ride a broomstick, she flew it right into a lake and then a tree, and then the side of the school...The staff thought it best to keep her feet on the ground after all that. Which was fine...but she sure did like feeling like a bird for the five minutes she managed to get her broom steady and flying.
Most of the time, Daphne remained the optimist about her situation and lack of skill...But sometimes when she was alone it made her feel inadequate, especially when the prejudices started to come out among her peers about her blood status. Two years before she was set to graduate, Daphne participated in her first Healing lecture. Seeing the incredible magic the healers could do to help people was extraordinary. Immediately she fell in love with the craft and did her absolute best to hone skills in Healing magics rather than other areas. While she still wasn't as good as her peers, she was far better at using magic when she knew it was directly helping someone rather than just for her own personal convenience or day to day life. Daphne managed to graduate at seventeen years old with mid-level grades and a desire to Heal the world. |
ADULTHOOD. | After graduation, Daphne had no choice but to move back home. She got a job at a local pharmacy where she helped stock shelves and greet customers. During her final year at Ilvermorny, she'd heard about St.Mungo's in England and how they had some of the top Healers in the world working for them, and their internship program being exclusive and world class. From the moment she knew who they were and where, she had two goals. 1. Move to England. 2. Get a spot as an intern at St. Mungo's. Even though living backwith her parents meant hiding who she was and what she was, it enabled her to save every dime she had to buy a plane ticket and a little extra for a small apartment in York. While her parents were completely opposed to her grand ideas, Daphne bid them farewell nonetheless and hopped the first plane. She managed to get a job at the local super market while she continuously applied for a spot at St Mungo's. For nearly eight months she applied and was rejected. Until finally they had someone drop out of the program and she was granted her spot!
Now she is beginning her internship and is more than thrilled at the prospects ahead of her. |

On the rare occurrence of a sunny day, Cascada Minor would never be caught indoors. If she was at Hogwarts, she would be found im the courtyard or garden, when not at work she could be found in Hogsmeade. It was one of her favorite places to visit on a warm and sunny day like today. People out and about, warm and inviting weather, ice cream from the shoppe what more could anyone ask for? The school year was coming to an end and with it her workload was slowly dwindling. Her muggleborn students were often excited for their first summer home, eager to tell their parents about their new adventures. Unfortunately, the end of school meant Cas would spend the majority of her time back at the manor with her mother. It was the only part of coming home that brought her dread. She'd hoped things would change and her mother would be willing to rekindle their relationship and maybe have some sort of mother and daughter connection. But that seemed to be more of a pipe dream.
Today, however, she wasn't worried about any of that. Today she sat on a bench in the middle of the village, basking in the glorious rare sunshine. She waved and made small talk with a few people passing by, but mostly she just enjoyed the people watching. Her dark hair was tied back into a tight pony tail, shorts revealing her tan legs, and a simple black tank top. She wanted to soak in as many rays as she could while it lasted. Back in North America, sunshine was abundant, here it was the opposite. She didn't mind as long as she could take advantage of days like today. Drawing in a deep breath, she exhaled her stress and watched the shoppers laughing a little at the younger crowd pulling their pranks and really enjoying their Saturday afternoon. She wondered what Keeley was doing, and Lux. But most of her thoughts always seemed to drift back to him. As much as she tried to keep them away, he always crept in and settled in the place that warmed her the most. What was doing, was he happy. She wanted the best for him, even if that life didn't coincide with her own.
